The First of my Tag Frenzy

I really got my self inspired doing tags for this year's Christmas gifts and THIS was the first of the frenzy!

I began my tag by stamping the "word block" from Gina K's "Blessed is the Season" stamp set on half of my card.  I then misted over it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I used Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink sponged around the edges.  My dove is also from the same stamp set and I stamped it on my oval Nestabilitie.  My sentiment was stamped on a Ribbon Tag Nestie and then mounted on top of one of the Fancy Tags Nestie.  I used Gina K's Sateen Flowers and doubled them before adding a self adhesive pearl that I colored with my Copics to match my card colors.  I added a few branch punches to the flowers and  tiny ribbon to the top.

Once again, this was a tag I sent to my Center Stage Spotlight Secret Sister.  We were to send her a completed tag and everything she needed to make ten just like them.

I really enjoyed making all the tags I did this Christmas and I know I will be doing it again next year.  I even had a few that saved my tags off their gifts and I couldn't ask for a better compliment.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!  *smile*

A Secret Sister

Today I wanted to share a card I made about three months ago.  The Center Stage Spotlight gals decided to start a Secret Sister exchange for  the last quarter of the year.  Every month we had different "assignment" as to what we were to send.

I don't recall what the first month was, but... this is the card I sent along to her.  By the way... my Secret Sister was Cheri Weston!  I LOVE Cheri and I was so excited to be her SS for the last three months!

I started my card with Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight In the Navy card stock.  I layered it with some Turquoise Sea and used my Herringbone Cuttlebug embossing folder on it.  My Creme de' Menthe paper was embossed using the Swirls embossing folder.

My image is from Asela Hopkins, "Pretty as a Peacock". I colored it with my Copic markers and added a bit of sponging around the edges.

I was having a ball finding all these coordinating flowers in my stash.  Good thing I decided to stop! LOL

I hope my Secret Sister liked her card.  She had to wait three whole months to find out who it came from!  Hee Hee

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!  *smile*

A Tray in Blues

It's "back to work" again!  Ugh!  I am so envious of my kids getting a week off at Christmas! LOL  Oh well... guess THEY need more time to play with their goods than I do, huh?  NOT! LOL

Today I am sharing yet another artist tray that I created for my mother-in-law. I wanted to do pics of her and my father-in-law but time was running out and I couldn't get with her to grab some since she lives an hour away.  So... I decided to make hers with pictures of the kids.  A pic or two of them younger... and their "first day of school" pic this year.

Again, I used several stamped images from Gina K Designs to add to my frame.  On the second row, left, I used the butterflies from Melanie Muenchinger's "A Beautiful Life" along with a sentiment from her "Say It With Flowers" set.  Two frames over I used Theresa Momber's set "Timeless Treasures" for the cameo image.  Then a sentiment from that same set by Theresa.  On the last row I again used Tami Mayberry's set, "Happy Hearts" to add more dimension to the frame.

I really really liked making these wonderful artist trays.  They were so much fun to decide what goes in each little frame and truly love the dimension you can use in them.

I will say this... both of the artist frames I created were truly loved and I felt so much better giving something that I created personally for them than just going out and finding a gift on a shelf, ya know?  I think Christmas is my favorite time of the year to MAKE something.

I hope your day was fabulous!  Thanks for stopping by!!  *smile*

Care for some Tea?

Hope you have had a great Christmas and made many wonderful memories this year!  Today I am totally relaxing and actually spending the day in my pj's!

My card today was created using Melanie Muenchinger's, "Mugs and Kisses" set and is a definite way my DH and I like to relax together!  We usually find it most relaxing when the kids have gone to bed and we are finally alone with some quiet time!!  :-)

I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight cranberry tart card stock and layered it with a piece of ivory card stock.  My piece on top of that is actually a journaling card from Prima called the Fairy Flora collection.  I love this collection... so soft and pretty and even perfect for a vintage look.

I used my rectangle deckled Nestabilities to stamp my image on and paper pieced it to give my cup a cute design.  :-)

Melanie thought of everything when she put this set together!  So many adorable sentiments and different beverage choices.  Ha!

Have you been shopping at Gina K Designs?? Gina has a special going on to those who spend $35.  You can chose a FREE stamp set from those shown below.

Don't miss your chance to get your free set.  This offer is good until the end of the year!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Artist Tray

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

I hope you have a magical and blessed day today!!  I'm sure by the time this posts my kids will be in full swing opening presents and basically trashing the house.  Ha!  The one day of the year I don't worry to much about how things look.  Gift wrapping everywhere and tape stuck to your foot every half hour. LOL  Today I am sharing a gift I made for my mother this year.  I hope she likes it.  I used many different elements in this artist tray and it was soooo much fun to create!

In the first row I started with Theresa Momber's stamp set, "Fanciful Fall" to stamp the tree.  I put tiny adhesive pearls that I colored to match my siblings birthstone colors. I added larger adhesive rhinestones to the trunk of the tree which represent my parent's birthstone.   My "Family" chipboard piece I created using Melody Ross' Chip Art tools.  I painted it with Tim Holtz gold Paint Daubers.

In the second row I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Buds and Vases" set and stamp the roses.  I colored them with my Copic markers and though it's hard to see in the pic... right in the middle is the word "cherish".  This is simply cut from the plastic packaging from some flowers I got from Prima.  They have such awesome packaging that I use a lot on things I create.

Also in the second row are two of the hearts from Tami Mayberry's, "Happy Hearts".  I stamped them... folded the larger heart in half and mounted it on the crease so it stuck out from the tray.  The smaller one I stamped using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mounted with a Pop Dot.

On my last row I used Gina K's "Love Notes" sentiment and used my Nestabilities to cut it out and mounted on pop dots.

I'm not at My Studio now so I can't tell you what paper I used but it was a wonderful vintage paper I found at Archivers.  I distressed each card with Tim Holtz Distress ink prior to mounting anything to it.  I found the "greenery" at Hobby Lobby and I don't recall what it's called but I love how it looked.

I really am pleased with how this came out and I hope she likes it.  Come back tomorrow and I'll show you another project I created for a Christmas gift.

Again... have a magical and memorable Christmas and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Last of the Fast Cards

Soooo... before I start posting things I HAD to wait to post so no one would see them... hee hee... I am sharing one last card I posted that was fast and easy.

My card today used Melanie Muenchinger's, "A Year of Borders".  LOVE these butterflies!!!  I stamped them on my Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.

I then used my Nestabilities Labels 8 to just emboss around the image.  My sentiment is from the set of the same name, "You Are Not Alone" by Gina K Designs.  A VERY quick and easy card!!

I hope you have a fabulous Christmas Eve with friends and family nearby and that tomorrow your Christmas is the most magical and blessed day of the year!

Thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Musical Christmas

Well, yesterday was the last day of school for my kiddies.  They have a week and a half off for Winter Break and they couldn't be happier!!  Before they left though, they always have certain friends, teachers, etc. they like to give a small gift to.  Today I am posting the card I made for them to give to their piano teacher.  (They both have the same one.)

I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Mugs and Kisses" and my sentiment is from Theresa Momber's set, "A Very Merry Christmas".

I used my Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Ivory card stock for my base and embossed it with my Cuttlebug Allegro folder.  I lightly went over the embossing with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Antique Linen to give it more depth.

My kids are always so proud to give my cards to people and that makes ME feel good.  I'm glad they appreciate the work I put into them... for me I couldn't ask for more than to make them proud.

I hope you are ready for the holiday... not much time left!!

Hopefully we will be spending the last few days baking cookies and treats. :-)   Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Day 2 of Simple Cards

I'm back with another easy and fast card!!  Today I did a simple single layer card for you.

My card begins with Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight white card stock.  I stamped the wreath from the "Floral Wreath" set which is the "Free with Three" set this month.  If you haven't got yours, there's still time before it will no longer be free at the end of the month!!

I again used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored my images with my Copic markers.  A simple Prima flower to add to the middle... a sentiment at the bottom and finished!!!

There's not much else you can say about a card that is as easy as this.

Tomorrow I will share one more quick card with you and then... hopefully... I'll feel safe enough to put some Christmas gifts I created on the blog.  You never know who will be trying to get a "sneak peak" or a "hint" as to what I made for them, right?  ;-)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Rushing for Christmas!

Are you hurrying around to get things in order... wrapped... bought... and prepared for Christmas??? Who isn't, huh?!!  Well... for the next three days I am sharing what I did FAST!! I, like everyone else, have tons to do in the next few days so I decided to do a few cards that were fast, easy and fun to make!

My first card uses Gina K's "Funny Farm" set.  I LOVE cows and this guy was begging for big black spots!!  To begin my card I used Gina K's Pure Luxury heavy base weight Lipstick Red card stock.  Layered it with some Black Onyx and a sheet of layering weight white.  My gorgeous cow was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and I colored the spots in with my Copic Multi-liner.  A few colors for the bell and flower and all I needed was a sentiment and a strip of ribbon.  Done! How's that for fast and easy?

I have a few more cards to share with you this week and I promise, they are just as fast and easy as this one.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! *smile*

May I Serve You?

Today Stamp TV is starting a top 10 countdown of the best of StampTV. Each day, starting tomorrow, Gina will put a past video on the home page and we'll have a 10 day long challenge. You can play along as much as you want or as little as you want but each project you make counts as an entry.

All projects will use the tag COUNTDOWN so be sure to add that to your tags when you post your project in the Stamp TV Gallery.

On January 3rd, we will pick 5 winners who will win various prizes. Of course, the more you play, the better your chances. But again, you only have to play once to enter.  I hope you play along and win, win, win!!
Today I am sharing a Christmas gift I made for my son's "Step-Mom-to-Be".  I have to be careful what I share BEFORE Christmas since some of my friends and family visit my site.  Hee Hee

My Ex has a very sweet girlfriend whom he proposed to and who is VERY sweet to my son so I decided to make her a Donna Downey canvas apron which I had been wanting to do for quite some time.  I know she loves to cook because when my son goes to visit his dad she sends home all kinds of goodies with him!  Darn her!! LOL  This apron is not one you'd actually wear to COOK in... but one you might wear to serve your guest.

I found the inspiration for this on the Prima Live U-Stream Videos.  Those gals from Prima are so talented!!  I used Adirondack Color Wash to color the apron and then used Donna's foam stamps and acrylic paint to add the flourish.  I also added some crystal bling and of course... LOTS of Prima flowers.  Since these are mostly paper, you can't wash the apron.  But... it sure is a pretty thing to put on as you go out and impress your guests in.  :-)

Everything was heavily glued with Fabric Tac  to make sure it last for a long time.  I wanted to add some lace ruffle at the top of the canvas ruffle as a double, shorter layer but with the rush of everything, I didn't find any in my local Hobby Lobby and opted NOT to fight the crowds for lace.

I hope she likes it!!  My son is VERY excited about giving it to her and that makes ME feel good.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!  *smile*

In the Woods...

Have you been to Theresa Momber's blog???  If not, you definitely should go by and look at some of the most AWESOME scenery cards you'll ever see!!!  I am not even a tad bit as talented as she is at designing such fabulous scenes but... sometimes I get crazy and attempt to do one. LOL

I used Theresa's wonderful set, "The Giving Tree" for my card and stamped two of the trees in a lighter shade of brown than the "front" tree.  Theresa has added so many wonderful elements to this set that it makes it easy to design a card for any season.  I chose the leaves and stamped them in various inks to resemble fall colors.  I LOVE the adorable squirrel in this set!  The ground was sponged on along with the sky.

I couldn't resist using a bit of bakers twine in the corner for my bow.  I bought this awhile back and was dying to use it.  Next I'm investing in some bright colored twine I believe.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! *smile*

Poinsettia Tags

Today is the last showing of some of the tags I designed for my gifts this year.  I know I will definitely make more for next year!!!

For this design I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "A Year of Flowers" poinsettia.  OMGosh I was sooo afraid to try coloring these when I first ordered this set and now I go crazy making them any color I want! HA HA  I used my Copics to color them and cut them out.

I actually covered my tags this time with various colors of Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight card stock and use coordinating inks to stamp snowflakes on them.

On top of each poinsettia I added gold Stickles to add just a bit of shine to the tags.

Ok... last of the tags for this year but next year... watch out; because I REALLY REALLY liked doing this.  Quick, fun and easy!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!! *smile*

Color Time!!

Are you ready for new color combos?? Well Gina has posted the newest colors for this week's challenge!!  LOVE this selection!

I used Tami Mayberry's, "Faithful Florals" set for my card.  I swear I was "out of brain" when this set was issued because I certainly did not remember seeing it!!! The florals in this are wonderful for the emboss resist technique which is what I used on my card.

My borders were from Nina Brackett's, "Vintage Borders", a favorite go to set!

Though my card has a few layers of card stock... it really is more of a single layer design card.  Simple and quick to make.

I hope you are checking out the challenges on Stamp TV and making cards to try for a chance at winning a free stamp set valued at $24.95!!  Remember... if you use Gina K Designs stamps, your name goes in the drawing twice!!

Snowman Tags

More tags!!!!  I told you I am making gift tags this year and I've actually never done it before.  So I'm excited to put these lovely things on all my Christmas gifts this year!!!  Everyone will be sooo surprised.  Hee Hee

I used Gina K's "Snow Much Fun" adorable snowmen for my tags.  I LOVE these guys and you get a choice in this set so that makes it REALLY fun!!  I stamped them on Gina's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight white card stock to stamp my snowmen on and cut them with my Nestabilities Circles.  I used my Copics to color them in colors to match the background of the tag which I sprayed with Glimmer Mists.

My sentiment was mounted on the Nestabilities Fancy Tags.  And to add a bit more bling, I added Gina K's Sateen Flowers

I'm so excited I did these this year!!  I have one more design to show you tomorrow!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!!  *smile*

Tagged Mugs

You know it's Christmas time when you get so busy you lose your "to-do" list!!  Aaaack!!  I was going to post these little gems yesterday on my blog and well... yep... I lost my "to-do" list!!!  I KNEW there was something missing!! HA!

I created my tags with Melanie Muenchinger's, "Mugs and Kisses" set.  There are soooo many little "add-ons" in this set that you are bound to find the perfect sentiment or cup for anyone who drinks coffee, tea or hot chocolate!!  Oh and speaking of chocolate... there's even a yummy truffle in the set!!  :-)

I made a ton of tags for my gifts this year and I was looking for a quick and easy design to use.  THESE definitely fit the bill!!  I colored my tags by simply running my ink pad down over each one.  I misted them with different colors of Glimmer Mist just to give them a bit of sparkle (hard to see in the pics).  My mugs were simply stamped on various DP's and cut out.  And that mitten... love these!!!  Instead of stamping and cutting all I did was use the Mitten Nestabilities to cut them all out of Gina K's Pure Luxury Layering Weight white card stock and sponged some color on each before removing the Nestabilitie.  I added an extra heavy layer of sponging at the "cuff" of each mitten to add a bit more depth.  I liked doing this as the sponge gave the mittens a feel of "fluffy", I think.

A bit of Liquid Applique and a quick shot with the heat gun and Wah Lah!  Done!!  LOVED making all my tags this year and these were definitely the easiest bunch I had done so far.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *smile*

Seasons

Tonight I am sharing another card which I created for the Gina K Release Party.  I LOVE this set from Theresa Momber, "The Giving Tree"!!  Not only is the stamp set awesome, but, it is entitled one of my kids favorite books.  An equally awesome book.  If you have kids, you must read this to them.

My card today uses the Split Negative technique.  You can find the instructions to many awesome techniques wonderfully demonstrated by Gina K herself over on Stamp TV under the Video section or click on the link above for this technique.  .

I decided to use the Pure Luxury Black card stock to heat emboss the tree in white and the snowflakes from the set in silver.  The white card stock uses the flowers and I used the bright pinks and oranges to represent wonderful Spring flowers.

I used one of the Nestabilities tags under an oval to create my sentiment on.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card I shared at the Release Party.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening! *smile*

It's Sketch Time with Gina K

My card today follows Gina's new Sketch Challenge.  I admit this is one of the hardest sketches I ever have to deal with.  I cannot for the life of me get my boxes even!! LOL  But... I actually managed to do so on ONLY my second attempt! YAYYY me!!! LOL

Here is Gina's sketch....

and here is the card I created from it.

I used Nina Brackett's set, "Heirloom Ornament" for my image and sentiment.  My card base and layered card stock is Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight.  I tried somewhat of a "different" color combination with this card.  One I had never tried before... using Gina K's All Spruced Up and Turquoise Sea.  I took some DP from a Basic Grey collection to coordinate with the papers.

I am pretty proud that I figured out these little squares. LOL

Have a great day and don't forget to visit Stamp TV to get in a chance to win a free stamp set from Gina K Designs when you try the current challenges!!  *smile*

Masculine Christmas Wishes

Eeeks... I totally forgot I didn't have my post written up for yesterday!  Sorry about that!  We had our first snow of the season and I guess my mind was elsewhere!!  Today I am posting a card I shared at Gina K's Release Party a couple weeks ago.  I used Tami Mayberry's, "Block Greetings" set for my card.

How appropriate this card was in that the snow outside sure makes me think of the deer out in the woods in all the snow!!  I decided to make a "masculine" card today for my friend's husband in Dallas.  Bette was such a dear to me and I miss her terribly but by the great electronics we have, am able to keep in touch with her wonderful husband, Tom.  Sort of a Christmas, "thinking of you" card to send him a small note this season.

I stamped my image and used my square Nestabilities to cut it out.  I made the layered card stock a bit longer so that I could tie my bow around it.  All my paper is from Gina K's Pure Luxury line.  LOVE this paper!!

Yesterday I made 23 Christmas tags and a few cards and with the bitter cold weather we are having I decided to hunker down with the kids and DH today and not head to My Studio.  It's suppose to be -12 wind chill and I'm thinking some hot homemade chicken and noodles tonight!  :-)

Stay warm wherever you are and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Friday's Colors....

Yayyy... it's Friday!!!!  Don't you just love the weekend coming?  I do.  And, what could be better than adding a little "color" to the day??!!!  Gina has posted her Color Challenge for this week and the colors are....

My card was created with Theresa Momber's, "The Giving Tree" stamp set.  I did a bit of embossing on the three layered violet panels and used the leaves in the stamp set to create my own background on my card base.

IS there a purple bird??? If so, I've never seen one.  But I LOVE it!  :-)

Are you joining in the Stamp TV challenges??? You really should.  I mean, seriously, who DOESN'T want a FREE stamp set valued at $24.95????   Head over every Monday and Friday and check out Gina's challenges.  It never hurts to try!!

Have a great Friday!! *smile*

Bandana Friends

I'm sooooooo happy Tami Mayberry created this awesome new stamp set, "Block Greetings"!!  It seems I never use my square Nestabilities or their counter part, the scalloped edge squares.  NOW I have that opportunity!! Thanks Tami!!

I decided to use the block that somewhat appears to be a paisley/bandanna looking print.  I LOVE it!!!  I paired it with my bandanna looking ribbon that I found in my stash.  I used my Nesties Label 16 for the entire card on this, making it an easel design.

For the inside I used Gina K's, new "Free with Three" set for the month.  Perfect for just about any card, really.

For my background paper, I used Theresa Momber's, "The Giving Tree" for the little flower which I created my own DP with.

Have you ordered your Block Greetings yet??? AND... if you did... did you get two other sets so you too could have the "Free with Three" set?  Perfect time of year to give yourself a present!! ;-)

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

12 Embellishments Challenge...... 12????

Today the winners were announced for my "12 Days of Christmas Challenge" that I posted at the Gina K Designs Release Party last week.  Did you play along???  I had lots of people gasp at the idea of putting 12 embellishments on a single card... but... can you see how easy it can be??? Did you look at the Stamp TV Gallery and see all the gorgeousness?  It didn't have to be gaudy looking or like someone threw a pile of pearls on a card.  Some simple positioning and a quick count and I KNOW you too can do this.

My first card example is one I did using Asela Hopkins, "Nesting" set.  I LOVE the butterfly in this set and decided to use some silver embossing powder to put the "life" as the butterfly's body.  And look... those fabulous sateen flowers from Gina K are doubled... that counts for TWO embellishments.  Not to mention the pearl in the middle of them.  How easy was that??? Now you already have HALF of the amount needed for the challenge!!

I used my Scor-Pal to add some diagonal lines in my Pure Luxury Silver Metallic card stock and added some pearls to the corners.  A chipboard flourish and I was done!  Ohhh AND... see those leaves I added to the underneath of the flowers??? Those were actually flower petals that I cut off.  Wahoo... instant leaves!!  Love doing this!

This TRULY doesn't get any easier!!  For my second example I used copper nail heads.  That's it!!  Groups of threes in the corners and done!!  Again I used Asela's "Nesting" set.  I made this card pretty simple and easy.  A quick spritz of Glimmer Mist all over the card with a piece to leave a clean open box under my layered image... wrapped the ribbon and that's it.  Seriously... the CAS design along with the four groups of three nail heads and you can't get much easier and uncluttered as this.

Give it a try sometime... you might surprise yourself!!

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!!  *smile*

Jennie's Challenge... Make a Gift

Happy Monday everyone!  Wow... it was one crazy Monday for us!! We were informed THIS morning... son had a science fair at the school tonight!  He also had tutoring after school... and THEN... piano lessons after that... and I had an appointment with my gym personal trainer and daughter had dance lessons for an hour!!!  Sooooooooo hubby and I had LOTS of running to do but... surprisingly everything got done and we made it to the science fair on time!!!  Phewwww.... time to relax finally!!

Today I am sharing my "gift" I made for Jennie Harper's Release Party Challenge #3.  We were to use a stamp set and make a gift for someone with it.  I chose "Floral Wreath" for my stamp image and made this welcome sign for my mother.  This stamp set is FREE from Gina K Designs when you buy three other stamp sets this month!!

Her kitchen is done in yellow with little hints of red in the wallpaper on one wall so I decided this would look perfect where she always ends up with her guest.  What better place to share coffee and chat, huh?

I used some cardboard that was in a pack of paper I had ordered and cut the squares from it before adhering my Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight dandelion card stock.  I stamped my images and colored them with Copic markers.  Next I added self-adhesive pearls to each square and a few Prima flowers.  My lace was originally white and I sprayed it with some Glimmer Mist to change it to a red tint.

I hope she likes it!!

Tomorrow I'll share the cards I created for my "12 Days of Christmas Challenge" I posted during the Release Party.

Have a great evening... I'm going to take a break and rest a bit before I had off to bed.  Long day!  *smile*

Monday Sketch Challenge - STVSKSP5

It's a NEW Sketch Challenge today!!! I hope you play long!  Be sure and check out the new sketch challenge every Monday and Color Challenge every Friday over on Stamp TV under the Video tab

Today I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Weight Kraft as my base and layered it with Lipstick Red then on top of that Pure Luxury Layering Weight White.

My image is from Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Mugs and Kisses".  I pieced the mug with some colorful DP I found and cut out around the saucer and inside the mug.  My spoon holds the sugar cube which is hard to see here but I added some diamond Stickles to it to mimic a sparkly cube. ;-)

Have a great day and be sure to upload your photo to the Stamp TV gallery using the STVSKSP5 tag to ensure your name goes in the drawing for a free stamp set of your choice valued at $24.95.  Remember, if you use a Gina K Designs stamp set, your name goes in the drawing twice!!
