You're Invited to the Gina K May Release Party!!

The Gina K. Design Team is excited to invite you to another fabulous Release Party!!! The party is tomorrow, Thursday, May 31 at 11:00 am Central Time in the Stamp TV Release Party Forum. Join us for Challenges, Contest Questions, Design Team Samples, Full Stamp Set Reveals and, of course, party chit chat!!! Everything will go "live" at 11:00 am Central in Gina's Store so there won't be any long wait to start shopping! Hope to see you there!

If you came from Tami Mayberry's blog, then you're right where you should be. If not, please go to Stamp TV where you will find a list of all those participating. Here's a sneak peek of one of the cards I will be sharing with you at the party:

My card today was inspired by Gina K's stamp set, "Birthday Greetings"... specifically the sentiment I used here.  Now, to be honest, my card also shows a portion of another new stamp set designed by Rupa Shevde, but... with a twist.  You can see the "twist" at the Release Party tomorrow... so be sure and stop in! *wink*

My card started with some Pure Luxury Sweet Mango card stock for the base.  I added a layer of Wild Dandelion and some of the Gina K Patterned Paper Pack, "Sundance".  I stamped my image on White and colored with my Copic markers.  I used my Circle Nestabilities and the Scalloped Nestabilities to cut my image with before mounting on my card.  My sentiment (which CAN be used inside the card as well as the outside) was cut out using the Fancy Tags 2 which I mounted on more of the patterned paper from the same pack.

Be sure to come by the party tomorrow to see what I did to make Rupa's set a tad different.  ;-)

And last but not least... OMG!!!!

Can you believe it???? Eeeek... how's THAT for some exciting news??!!!! CLEARLY the best news I've heard in a long long time!!!  You MUST come hear about it all at the party!!!

If you missed anyone along the hop, you can go to Stamp TV and check the list to see who you missed! Hope you enjoyed the hop and I hope to see you at the party!

Inside of It All....

I know, I know.... I already showed you this card a few days back, right??? Well... what I didn't show you, and forgot to, was this......

THIS was the inside of that card.  Yes, I decorate... finish... whatever you want to call it... I make the inside of my card as well as the outside.  I just really like the "whole effect" of completing the inside.  And to tell the truth... even the back of my card has a "personalized" stamp I use on it to date when I made the card.  Hee

I particularly wanted to show you this inside though because I used the "Lacey Borders" stamp set from Gina K Designs to add along the inside.  I sometimes will use a flat ribbon on the inside of my cards and these stamps are just FABULOUS for not adding much, if any, bulk to the inside.  Now I did stamp these on another sheet of card stock before I added them to the inside, but you could definitely stamp them directly to it.  The reason I added the later was I had accidentally grabbed the Pure Luxury Layering Weight card stock instead of the Heavy Base Weight and I wanted the card to have a bit more weight to it than it did.  I generally use the Heavy Base Weight when doing a white card base because it just "feels" good in your hands.  So by adding the borders that were also stamped  on more Layering Weight, it gave my card the weight I wanted.

I used the Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing powder on my white card stock and let it cool down before adding some Memento Angel Pink ink with a sponge dauber over the embossed lace.  After I finished I rubbed off any excess ink that may be left on the embossed area then cut the lace and added it to the borders on the inside.  I REALLY like how it turned out and I'm sure I'll be using it again.  It was a bit tough to get a good pic of the lace.  It kind of looks blurry or not at crisp but in real life it its fabulous.  The Superfine Embossing Powder really pics up the detail of the lace.  Give it a try!!

Well... I'm off to start my weekend with some new Gina K stamps!!  Woot!!  Don't forget the new Release will be next Thursday.  OMGosh you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the new sets!  Hee Hee

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!!! *HUGS

Patterned Papers are Sew Fun...

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to a Patterned Papers are Sew Fun blog hop. For this hop we will showcase the fabulous Gina K. Designs Patterned Paper line, stamps, and some fun sewing techniques! The DT Members have all used the wide variety of stamps and paper in this hop to inspire you to get inky too!! Come play along with the Current Challenges at Stamp TV!!!

If you came from Lori McAree's blog, then you're right where you should be. If not, please go to Stamp TV  where you will find a list of all those participating.

My card today uses the Stamp TV Kit, "Petals & Wings" stamp set AND the coordinating Gina K Paper Pack by the same name!   My card base is Pure Luxury Black Onyx.  I layered on some Lemon Drop then that fabulous Patterened Paper!  My images were stamped on White using Memento inks.

As for the stitching... nope... I'm NOT a seamstress of ANY kind.  I used my paper punch and a black marker to add my faux stitching.  :-)

I hope you add a little stitching to your card, even if you have to do it the "imitation" way like I do; and I hope you enjoyed the hop today.

If you missed the beginning of the hop, you can stop over to Stamp TV and see the list of DT members who are included!!

As always, thanks for joining us today and have a fabulous Thursday!! *HUGS*

A Special Day....

Oh yes... Wednesdays are included in "special days"... that's for sure!!!  Halfway through the week and I can honestly say I'm gonna do a little relaxing and a little "easy" crafting.  I've been busy... there was a wedding!! Yes... my sister had her wedding Saturday and I must say, though I didn't FEEL I was in the hustle of it all... I DID have a small part in that hectic schedule kept by brides and their wedding participants.

Many of you asked about the wedding guest book I made and I had fully intended to post pics, but... as it turns out... I will be doing a tutorial on the book for later publication.  I hope you don't mind the wait.  It won't be long.  :-)

My card today is one I designed THINKING I'd give it to my sister and new brother-in-law.  As it turned out, I ended up one I had made earlier that I liked a bit more. Ha!

My card base is Pure Luxury White and I embossed it using the "Textile" Cuttlebug folder.  My image is from Rupa Shevde's, "With This Ring" stamp set from Gina K Designs.  I used my Copics to color the flowers on the cake and my Copic Spica pens to add the black beading around the cake layers and the leaves.

I cut the image out using my Labels 9 Nestabilities to cut out my image and again to border the image.  My sentiment was cut out using the Grommet Tags Nesties.

I hope to have a nice  unstressed week and weekend.  It's been a long time since I felt caught up and not rushed!  I hope your remaining week is just as smooth going.

As always... I appreciate your stopping by!  Have a great Wednesday!! *HUGS*

Mmmm Strawberries are Coming!!!

Do you love garden season?? I do!  And I like it even more when "I" don't have to do the gardening!! Ha!!  My hubby (he's the reason "I" don't HAVE to garden.) is actually growing strawberries this year and I'm so excited to see how well they take!  But... why wait to see and hope for those luscious fruits when we can stamp, color and "play" with them!!  Theresa Momber's last set, "Sweet Strawberries" is a fabulous substitute... for now. Ha!  If you need a reason to do a strawberry card... why not hop on over to the Outlawz Challenge site to join in on the Greetings Challenge which is ALL about strawberries!!!  YES!!!!

My card base is Pure Luxury Ocean Mist layered with some Red Hot and some of the Gina K Patterened Paper Pack, "Berries & Vines".  I added another piece of the Ocean Mist and used my Scor-Buddy to add a little dimension to it along the top and bottom.  I stamped my image on White card stock and colored it with my Copic markers.  Once I cut it out, I added some Crystal Lacquer all over the glass area to, obviously, resemble real glass.  :-)  I added a few paper flowers and colored my self-adhesive pearls to the flower centers.

I hope you play along with the Outlawz Greetings Challenge.  It's always a fun and easy challenge and if I might remind you of one thing... the Greetings Challenge must have a "greeting/sentiment" on the card.  I seem to always miss that for some reason and I'M one of the designers! LOL  I'll create a card and sometimes even post it before it hits me... "argghh I forgot to put a sentiment on it!" LOL  Ya... even the designers forget now and then.

I hope you have a great week.  I am thinking after Monday's piano recital for my son, my week should be a little calmer and not so hectic.  The end of school year is coming and that seems to always spell "unhectic" to me!

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day! *HUGS*

A Little Dream Fairy....

Today I am sharing a card I created awhile back for a sweet girl who goes to school with my son.  She had a little birthday gathering at her home and invited our family to come celebrate with her.  Jordan is sooooo in love with Michael Buble' and her signature on her text messages says something like "Mrs. Buble'" on it.  Anyway... we all just laugh at how much she adores him.  Of course, I HAD to get her Michael Buble' spa slippers!!!! OMGosh she squeeled as soon as she saw them and yelled... "OMGosh their Michael Buble' slippers!!!! I think I'm gonna pee!!!!" LOL  It was a VERY fun night and we were so happy we uhhhh ALMOST made her pee! LOL

Now for the card I made for her.  :-)  I used the awesome "Angelica" from Wags & Whiskers digi stamps.  I LOVE this cute fairy.  I stamped her on white Pure Luxury card stock and colored her in with my Copic markers.  My card base is Vibrant Violet with some Lovely Lavender layered along with some of the Gina K Designs Patterned Paper Pack, Parisian Garden.  I added a bit of Stardust Stickles to her wings and the stars to add a little "magic" to her.  ;-)

I'm anxious to have the summer begin as sweet little Jordan will be visiting regularly.  My son is giving her piano lessons and when I asked her how often she'd come over .... before I could say.. "weekly"... she jumped in with "EVERY DAY!!!" LOL  I love her to pieces.

Thanks for stopping by today and as I so often say... It's FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!!!  My favorite date of the week!!!!  Have a wonderful day!!!  *HUGS*

The Names Have Been Changed to Protect the Innocent....

"Book em, Danno!" LOL  OMGosh I'm showing my age now! Ha  Today I'm sharing a couple "memo books" I made for my daughter and our neighbor gal she plays with now and then.  Both are named Emily, thus the "e"s.  I used Tami Mayberry's last stamp set, "Vintage Notes".

I covered each book using Pure Luxury Black Onyx and Moonlit Fog.  I stamped my image on White and added some bling on the sides and at the bottom and top of the note pad.  Both "e's" are stickers.

I also thought I'd use some of the sentiments and accessories Tami included to give them a few prompts on their pages.

These were super easy and the girls just loved them!  And I doubt, as girls, they played FBI stuff with them... LOL  But... they did use them to list "secrets, desires, fun things" and even used a few pages just to write notes to each other on them.  I imagine if they were boys, these would be a great little gift for "party bags", for sure!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! *HUGS*

Family Memories...

It's Monday... yet another work week has begun.  *sigh*  I had a great relaxing day yesterday and I hope you did as well. But... back to work we must go.  Today I am sharing a card I designed using Susana's Custom Art and Card Designs', "My Family Peeker". All of the Elisabeth Bell Peekers are just so adorable and fun I know I couldn't pick just one!

I used Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion card stock as my base and layered it up with some Red Hot then some of the fabulous DP from the Lilybee Designs, "Homemade" paper pack.

I stamped my image on white and colored it with Copic markers.  A little ribbon and a cameo stick pin from Websters Pages finish up my card.

I will be spending the evening with family tonight as we attend my son's high school band banquet.  He will be receiving a letter in band this year and we are all very excited and happy for him as it's his first year in high school (freshman).  Every time he accomplishes something like this I think, "this is my proudest moment", then he does something the next year which seems to be equally important or huge and I have to think again... THIS is my proudest moment.  LOL  A very NICE feeling to have since it seems the older he gets, the more I am amazed and proud of the direction he is taking his life in.  I just hope it continues well into his college years.

I am also thankful... that he is growing into a wonderful young man.  I have been very blessed by him and trust that God will continue to lead him in the right direction.

I am thankful for YOU as well!  Thankful that you stop by and share not only my creations with me, but also little glimpses of my life and my family.  My blog would not be complete without your support!!  Have a fabulous day!! *HUGS*

P.S.  I apologize for not having the Copic listed on this post.  I THOUGHT I was having issues with my camera during the time I created this card and in all the "stress and confusion" of it, I forgot to take the shot.  Of course, it turned out I had a smudge on my lens!!! UGH!  LOL  Thanks for understanding.

Write Your OWN Life...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

I hope everyone mother out there is enjoying the day just as THEY want to.  I often think about how I spend MY Mother's Day each year.  And one reason is... every year for a very long time, we ( my daughter, my sister and her daughters) go have breakfast every year with my mom.  I believe it started long ago when Grandma found out she had lung cancer (NEVER a smoker!), and she decided she wanted to spend mother's day with HER daughters and their daughters and so on.  So... each year we would all decided on a place to go out to breakfast.  Well... needless to say... we have a HUGE family and the amount of women in that family grow more and more every year!!  It was difficult to find a restaurant that would handle us all.  AND... it also provided much unwelcomed stress over where and when we would meet and WHO would be coming.  Yes... people like my cousin tended to invite her son's "girlfriends" and sometimes even THEIR mothers.  It just got crazy.  Until it got to be something I hated!

I am the oldest "daughter, granddaughter" in our family.  My cousin who is four months younger than myself tends to be the one who everyone "bends" to.  NOT that I'd want that.. but oh my... is she ever draining!  LOL  Seriously... at 51 she is still a whiner and INSIST on getting her way or doing things the way she thinks they SHOULD be done.  So... after grandma passed away several years ago... MY mom decided we didn't need to get together with "girlfriends" and mom's who were NOT related to us.  We split off and started doing our own breakfast together.  Ahhhh... sooo much more relaxing and easy.  This year, my niece/godchild/namesake, Christina, is in town from New York and SHE has asked to be allowed to "make" breakfast for us women at my mom's.  Nice!  My daughter and I will meet up with them in the morning and enjoy a relaxing breakfast.  Then, like always, we will go to the cemetary and leave Grandma a fresh flower wreath.  :-)  Afterwards, I will be home... relaxing and doing what I love...probably creating, reading or maybe even taking a nap.  Then, my kids and hubby have dinner planned.  Always a treat and always yummy!

As I looked at the card I created for today, it reminded me of one of my favorite sayings.. "Home is where your story begins!"  I love that!  And, as a mom... I hope that I have somehow helped my children to write a happy, loving and responsible story of their life.  I say "responsible" in that... the one thing I want more than anything else in this world is to know that I did everything I could to help my children grow into mature, respectable and responsible adults.  I try every day to make them realize that how they make decisions in life should be a way that will lead them into a well rounded and responsible adult.  Sure they have fun... sure they are happy kids... but life isn't always about having fun and I think with gentle nudging and positive talks, my kids realize I just want the very best in life for them.  Oh yes, you will work at it and it won't always be easy OR fun... but... in the end, you will have earned everything you've put your heart and soul into.  I hope when they write their story they will remember that "Mom" did what she could to teach them life can always be happy even though there was hard work involved and sometimes a good push or prod from her ends up being appreciated.  I, like many other mothers out there, I'm sure, think I have some of the most wonderful kids in the world.  Sure they have their faults... don't we all?  But in the end, they are great kids, doing great things, and making me proud to be their mom.  (Oh yes... and for me... Mother's Day pleasures will be continued tomorrow as Steven will be lettering in band at the banquet tomorrow night!!!  Yes... a very proud mom!)

My card today was created using one of those lovely Saturated Canary images, "Copica".  LOVE this!!  When I first started working with her I thought of nothing more than Suzanne Dean.  The lady I like to call, "The Copic Queen".  ;-)  Just like a mom, she has taught me soooo very very much about Copic coloring.  I LOVE the patience and caring she puts into her classes and, very much like a mom, she encourages, pushes and leads her students to be all they can.  I have a ton to learn, but I have to say nothing has touched my creativity as much as having attended Suzanne's classes.  If you've attended Suzanne's class, you know, after hearing her story, Suzanne let's NO ONE else hold her pen and she lives her life to the fullest.  I love that about her!

My card base is Pure Luxury Sweet Corn layered with Turquoise Sea and some of the DP from Echo Park. I stamped my image on white and colored her with my Copic, of course!!  A little "pen" flourish and a blinged up flower and my card is done.

I certainly hope your Mother's Day is full of sweet memories and no matter what age your kids may be, they too thank you for being the best mom you could and for giving the love that no one but a mom can give to them.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a FABULOUS day!!! *HUGS*

Not ODD at All.....

Happy Saturday everyone!!  Today I'd like to share a card I created using "Some Odd Girl" stamp, "Bookish Tia".  I decided to give this to my son for his grandma (my ex-mother-in-law) for Mother's Day.  She is a HUGE book worm and this little gal reminds me so much of her... walking all around her house carrying her book from room to room.  No, she doesn't read it as she walks, that would be dangerous! LOL  But... I've never seen her in a room without her book nearby.  So this will be his wish for her on Mother's day... that she has nothing pressing to do other than relax with her book.

My card base is Pure Luxury Sweet Corn layered with some Sweet Mango.  I added a few print DPs I found in my paper stash.  I used my Elegant Scrollwork die from Susana's Custom Art and Card Designs by Memory Box.  LOVE that flourish!  I stamped my image on White and colored her with Copic markers then cut her out before mounting her with Pop Dots.  My ribbon is Dandelion Gingham from Gina K and the flower is from Prima.

The Color Me Creative Challenge this week is sponsored by Some Odd Girl.  Hop on over and add your creation to the challenge for a change at some free digis from Some Odd Girl!!

I hope you have a great weekend.  I will be attending my sister's bachelorette party tonight.  I hope I can handle it... I'm not much of a bar hopper or a drinker for that matter.  Must be old age. LOL  l am sure I'll need the rest tomorrow will hopefully be with hit being Mother's Day. LOL  Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by!!! *HUGS*

Love you Mowerrrrr...

It's that time of year... yep... the yard needs kept up!  My son is in charge of the mowing in our home and I'm sure I don't need to say, as a teen, sometimes he really isn't thrilled about it.  But... that allowance sure is wanted when he's ready to go have fun with his friends. LOL  Today I decided to make him a pic of what I figured his wife might send HIM some day! HA HA HA!  Kidding!!!!  But I did give it to him and say... "Here she is.... the love of your life!" LOL  He got a kick out of it!

My hard-working woman is, of course, one of those fun and fabulous images from I Brake For Stamp's, Humorous Seniors.  You know... you do one of these and you just can't help having fun while crafting!!!  This sexy lady is "Mowlene"... bwahahahaha... I know, I know, but I can't help laughing!

My card begins with Pure Luxury Jelly Bean Green... love that green!  I layered on some Bubblegum Pink and then a few papered papers from Echo Park.  My image was stamped on White and  colored with Copic markers.  I cut it out using my Labels 4 Nestabilities.  My dies are from Bunny Zoe and the tags are from StampinUp.

Oh ya... did you notice Mowlene has curlers in her hair!!!  Shame on her! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! It's FRIDAY!!! WOOT!!!

Twinkling and Thinking...

I know by now that you all have got your new stamps from Gina K Designs, right??? AND... I KNOW you surely all have this awesome new set... "One in a Million"... the new One Free with Three set, right??? Well... you know what??? If you haven't... there's still time!!!

My card was created with a Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet card base.  I added some of that bright Key Lime Accent card stock.  I also added some of the DP from the Gina K Designs Patterned Paper Packs, Petals & Wings.  I stamped my image on White and used my Twinkling H2O's to paint them.  It has been a long time since I grabbed those and it felt good to try my hand at them again.  It's hard to see in the pic but they have such nice shimmer and shine to my flowers.  I also added some Copic marker to the stems and leaves.  I cut them out using my Labels 21 Nestabilities.  A bit of bling and some twine finish off my card.

I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday.  I had a long day yesterday attending my aunt's funeral... amazing how it can wear you out in the short amount of time.  Today I plan to create with my stamps and maybe do a little "Artful Lettering" class!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS*

Ahhhhhh....

You know, last week was "one of THOSE" weeks... when I was so busy I wasn't sure if I was coming or going.  And quite honestly, I'm not sure I'll make it to that decision this week either!  But... what I DO know is that this weekend is "Mom's Day" weekend and if I know my family, once I've finished breakfast with Mom and visiting Grandma... I'll be all set to be just like this adorable little fairy from Spesch Designer Stamps, "Wineglass" by Sylvia Zet, just relaxing and chillin.  :-)  Spesch has some awesome digital images and those by Sylvia are just a few of what they have in stock.  LOVE so many it's hard to keep the credit card put away! LOL

I created this card for the Outlawz Greetings Challenge last week but didn't have the opportunity to post it on my blog.  So here are the deets....

My card base is Pure Luxury Passionate Pink followed with a layer of Creme de Menthe. I used three of the DP's from Echo Park, Country Drive.  LOVE that paper pack!  My image was stamped on White and colored with my Copics.  I added a few pearl flourishes and finished off with my sentiment which I cut into a banner and raised up a bit fore adhering.

Sylvia's images are so cute and so much fun to color... I'm positive you'll see more here and there on my blog.

I hope you have a great day.  Sadly, I will be attending my great aunt's funeral today.  She babysat Steven when he was only a year old... he LOVED going to her house every day.  She taught him a bit of Spanish and got him addicted to Fruit Roll Ups. LOL  She was a fabulous babysitter... her and Uncle Richard... he loved having Steven around.  They had only girls so I'm sure having a little boy was such a treat for him.  ;-)  Steven is honored to be a pallbearer for her.  Aunt Jessie was 90 years old... I know she lived a full and happy life and for that I'm thankful.  RIP Aunt Jessie.  We love you very much!

Thanks for stopping by! *HUGS*

Happy Birthday, Suzanne Dean!!!

The Color Me Creative Design Team has a secret!!!  Today we are hopping along to wish our fearless leader, Suzanne Dean, a VERY happy birthday!!!  Suzanne is the owner/creator of the Color Me Creative site and, as many of you know, teaches her Copic classes online and on the road!  She is one busy momma and we thought we'd take time to wish her a happy day and hope she gets to sit with her Cherry Coke and donuts (ya, a fav combination of hers!) and relax a bit today and enjoy the hop!

Each of us decided it would be fun to remember Suzanne today in "typical Suzanne" style!  Our creations will either help remember a "funny travel moment" with Suzanne or... share a secret about Suzanne.  Ha!!!  Bet she didn't see this coming!!! LOL

Here is what I created today....

My card started with Pure Luxury Black Onyx card stock.  I layered on some Red Hot and more Black Onyx before adding some DP from the Gina K Designs Patterned Paper Pack, "Poppy Prints".  I added some pieces of Black Onyx with DP from that same paper pack and also from the "Berries & Vines" set as well.  My image is from Saturated Canary, "Zorana, a Dancing Gypsie".  I colored her with my Copic markers and added a few Prima flowers on the side.

My favorite thing about Suzanne is how she leads this "self-called" gypsie lifestyle.  She is on the move more than anyone I know.  I just wish I could join her!!! *hint hint*  Hee  But I have to admit, another reason I chose this image was because well... if you knew Suzanne well enough, you'd know she's always saying... "I need pot!" LOL  Of course, she DOESN'T use pot, but I find it funny whenever she belts that out.  And this gal reminds me of one of those "hippie" types as well.

In fact, while we were in California this past January, she and I had gone to a nearby little convenience store to purchase God knows what... and when we were heading back to our room upon entering the lobby I saw a gentleman get into the elevator.  I ran to grab the door so we didn't have to wait... Suzanne in tow!  As I got on I made the comment... "Whoa... just in time.  I looked at the gentleman and said... "That's how I run to catch ALL my men!"  Suzanne about lost it!!! She doubled over laughing and creeping into the corner of the elevator.  At that point I looked at the gentleman who said not a word... and said.. "Ohhh don't worry about her... she'll be ok once the pot wears off!" LOL  THEN I thought Suzanne was gonna pee her pants!! LOL

As we got to the room I took out my room card and was trying to put it in the slot as she stood there bent over, still laughing, then beginning to laugh a bit harder as I could NOT get that card in!!  I screamed, "I can't get it in!!!!... along with... "That's what he.." well.. never mind. LOL  At that point I turned and a gentleman across the building was standing on the balcony looking at us and visibly slowed down to watch.  Suzanne on on the ground by the door at that point nearly in tears from laughing.  Of course our roommate, Marti, had no intention, apparently, of coming to help us IN.. but we muddled through and got there.  As Suzanne ran to the bathroom!  Ya... good times were had by all! LOL

I love you Suzanne.. 'cause you let me tell people you smoke pot and then almost wet yourself because I DO tell them!!! LOL  I hope your birthday is fabulous and special... just like you are to me!  *BIG HUGS* GF!!!

Now hop on over to the rest of the DT's sites to see what they are sharing about Suzanne.  ;-)
