Celebrate Spring!!!!

Awwwww I just love this little prince.... Just wanna pinch his cheeks!!  Later tonight over on Color Me Creative, the DT will be sharing a new challenge... Everything Spring!!  And I admit... I am loving the EARLY Spring we are having here in Iowa!!!

My card today uses one of those adorable, Baby Edwin, Magnolias from the new Princes &  Princesses stamps.  I also paired him up with Melanie Muenchinger's, "A Year of Borders" to add a "field" of flowers for Edwin to play in.  Hee Hee

My card started with Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White card stock.  I added a layer of Baby Blue and then some Layering weight White again.  I stamped the flowers and colored them with my Copics.  Then I colored Edwin and cut him out and adhered him to the flower bed.  He originally has stars around him that he is reaching for but I drew some flower stems and added a few flowers I cut from another stamped image of the flower border and added them to the stems and put them in his little hand.  :-)

He certainly brings Spring to mind in those pretty blues and yellows.

I hope you stop on over to Color Me Creative and join us in the challenge.  The post will be up tonight around 11:00 PM.  Go check out the rest of the Design Team's samples and play along!

Have a great day!! *HUGS*

Loving All Things Purple!!!

Are you surprised??? Well, if you know me, you should know I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some purple!!!  And though you might see certain flowers and think of them in shades of red or yellow... yep... I've probably colored them purple!! That's just how I roll!! Woot!! ;-)  So today's card is just that... another bundle of flowers I decided rocked out in purple!!

My lovely flowers are from Gina K Designs latest Stamp TV Kit, "Petals & Wings".  Of course I don't know what KIND of flowers they are... that's not important to me.  What IS important is they look mahhhhvelous in PURPLE!!  Ha!

My card starts with Pure Luxury Accents, Key Lime, card stock.  I added a layer of Wild Lilac and topped it off with some of that TOTALLY AWESOME Gina K Patterned Paper Pack, Parisian Garden!!!  My image was colored with Copic markers and I used my Circle Nestabilities to cut it out.  I used the Key Lime again to add a larger Circle then the Wild Lilac to cut out the Lacey Circle.  My favorite purple bling, a sentiment and some ribbon to match and oh yayyyyy it's MY kind of card!!

I hope you are having a fabulous week and that your days are full of bright flowers... yes even purple ones!!  It's sooo refreshing to see all the wonderful Spring flowers coming up already all over town!  I'm afraid a local Dutch city is not happy the tulips are blooming already as they have the Annual Tulip Festival set for April and they just can't seem to keep them from rising up from their beds.  Oh well... I'd much rather see them early than have to see more of that white "stuff" on the ground!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! *HUGS*

So Simple... ahhhhhh

Today I decided I wanted to do a simple card that didn't take much time and that didn't have tons of bling, embellishment and just focused on "easy living"... yayyyy... like ICE CREAM!!! Hee Hee

My card uses a sweet Magnolia stamp, "Tilda with Ice Cream".  I LOVE this image!!!  Reminds me so much of my daughter who is an ice creamaholic!!  LOL

I started with Pure Luxury Passionate Pink card stock.  I added a bit of Key Lime Accents.  My DP is from my stash of scraps from Echo Park.  My Tilda was colored with Copic markers and I added a little ribbon and a buckle with a few roses.

I hope you are having some simple Spring days.  I just love having my windows open and the nice breeze coming through.... makes everything fresh and new again!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! *HUGS*

Happy Birthday, Colleen Holmes!!

Yesterday the Greetings Design Team over on The Outlawz site honored our fearless leader, Colleen Holmes, by CASing one of her cards.  We had to change up three things on her card but keep with the general feel of the card.   Here is the card I chose to CASE.

For starters, I changed the Lacey Oval to a Lacey Square.  Where her butterfly is.. I added a pop up paper flower.  I also changed the roses to just leafy branches with glitter brads.

My card started with a base of Pure Luxury Grass Green and layered on some scrap DP I found in my stash.  My adorable frog is from Rupa Shevde's recent release, "Blooming with Blessings".  I used my Copics to color my image and of course, cut it out with the Lacey Square Nestabilitie.

I hope you stop over and to the Outlawz and join us in CASing Colleen and wishing her a happy birthday!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *HUGS*

A Follow-up Card...

Soooo.. you know how we sometimes show a "sneak peak" of a card that is coming for the new Gina K Designs Release Party??? Welllllll..... ya.... I did a peak and at the party I showed the full card.  But... sometimes.... I kinda forget that if you didn't make it to the party, you never got to see the FULL card!  Well here it is!  Just in time for the nice Spring weather we've been having!!! ;-)

My card uses Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Wild Flowers".  I started my card with Pure Luxury, Lemon Drop card stock and layered on some GKD Patterned Paper Pack, Sundance.  I added some Red Hot, more Lemon Drop and Sweet Mango.  My flowers were stamped using Memento Ink and on White card stock.  I colored my butterfly with my Memento markers and cut it out before popping up on the ribbon.   So there you have it... the little card "peak" revealed!  :-)

Even though I don't always get my full card posted on my blog immediately following a release party, you can always check out my cards on Stamp TV on my page or in the "Featured Gallery".

I appreciate your stopping by and guess what???? I'm hoping the NEW STAMPS from Gina K will be arriving at my door today! Woot!!  How's that for a teaser?? Hee

Have a great day!!! *HUGS*

Twisting Up....

It seems like it's been a long month already... I don't know where the time went!  It also seems like forever ago I made this card for the March Gina K Designs Release!  But, sadly, I showed this at the Release Party and it never made it to my blog!  This is probably one of my favorite cards I've made with this release also so I HAVE to show it here!  I used the latest Stamp TV Kit to create this, "Petals & Wings".  LOVE that kit!!

My card is done in two of my favorite colors as well.  I soooo love how purple and teal look together.  :-)  I started with a base of Pure Luxury Turquoise Sea layered with some White.  I added some DP from the new GK Patterned Paper Pack, Parisian Garden.  To create the score in the card I used my trusty Scor Buddy.  I stamped my image on White and colored with my Copic markers.  I cut it out before mounting it with Pop Dots onto my card base.  A little bling, a paper doily and a big bow finish off the front.

On the inside I used a simple sentiment from the STV Kit and popped it up as well using Pop Dots to give it dimension and to hold the "easel" of the card up.

And here's the card popped up as an easel.

I really enjoyed making this design and I'm sure I'll give it a try again.

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  *HUGS*

Hold On Tight....

Are you a hugger?  I am!  And... so are my kids.  My husband... not so much.  But only to us.  I LOVE giving hugs.  For me, it means I care about you deeply and truly treasure your friendship and love you share.  I never realized how much I have influenced my kids with this until this year.  My son who is 14 and in his first year of high school has about 20 gals he says that come up to him daily for a hug.  LOL  How cute is that???   He's a sweetheart and has more friends than I could have ever hoped for him to have.  I love that!  So remember, if we ever meet... chances are I'll hug you so... get ready or run fast! LOL

My card today was done a few weeks back for a Color Me Creative Challenge and I hadn't had a chance to post it on my blog yet.  I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Cuddles and Hugs", stamp set from Gina K Designs.  This set is full of cute images and they all speak love to me.  :-)

My card base is Pure Luxury Passionate Pink.  I layered some Black Onyx on with some DP from the Basic Grey, Little Black Dress, pack.  My image was stamped on white and colored with my Copic markers.  I used my Circle Nestabilities to cut the image out before mounting it with pop dots.  I used a couple of Marianne dies in Passionate Pink and a few Prima flowers to finish it off.

A couple side notes.. don't forget the CMC Birthday Bash going on.  A FREE Vagabond is up for grabs so go participate in the challenges and you could win big!!  There are many other prizes up for grabs as well so go... play along!

My dear pal, Anary, is offering some blog candy on her site in honor of the CMC Birthday Bash.  Anary created those adorable Gilli stamps!  Check out her blog HERE and put your chance in to win as well.  You never know how lucky you can be until you try!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great one!! *HUGS*

Mixed Media Challenge...

Hip Hip Horray it's Friday!!!! You KNOW I love me some Fridays!!!  Tonight I'm taking my son and daughter to see The Hunger Games!!  We are going with two of Steven's friends from school and their mothers as well.  Should be a fun night for all!!  Today I am sharing a mixed-media canvas that I created for the newest challenge over on CMC.  Have you tried a mixed-media piece before??? I strongly suggest you give it a shot... it's fun and pretty much ANYTHING GOES!!  Gotta love that!  Kinda like Mulligan's Stew! LOL

I began with spraying my canvas with some Adirondack Color Wash and added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to the mix.  I let it sit awhile then patted off some of the large puddles before adding a touch more in a lighter mist.  My sentiment is from the "one free with 3 set" from Gina K Designs, "Great Sayings".  I LOVE these!!!  I stamped it in Memento on a piece of DP from the Echo Parks, Splash, collection.  Added a bit of distress to the edges and adhered to my canvas.

My butterfly is from the "Hope is Faith" set also available at Gina K's.  I stamped it four times and colored each one in with my Copics.  I cut them out and adhered the bottom butterfly flat onto my canvas.  For the next three I folded the wings up and adhered just the bodies moving them up a small bit before adhering them in place.  Here's a close up.

I added some bling for a trail on my butterflies.  A few pearls which I also colored with my Copics placed in the upper corner and then finishing it off with various paper and silk flowers at the bottom  And lastely, a cameo stick pin.

I really like how this came out and plan to hang it in my studio.  What a GREAT quote to live by and remind yourself of often.  Crafting IS my heart and it just makes me happy that I'm able to do this on a daily basis and to be able to share it all with you just makes it that much more enjoyable!

As always... thank you for visiting today and though I don't get a chance to respond to all your comments, I really really appreciate all you do to support my blog and my work.  Nothing means more than knowing someone appreciate what you are doing and that it brings a small amount of joy to them as well.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! *HUGS*

And before I forget... you can get a discount on your order from I Brake for Stamps by using the code on the left by their logo.  And I admit... I have an ulterior motive... hee.  I'm going to give this to my husband for OUR anniversary in June. Bwahahahaha  Provided, that is... I can remember I have it! Creating with Spesch

Happy Friday!!!  Today the CMC Design Team is sharing cards created with Spesch digi stamps!  I LOVE this "White Queen"... though I defiantly did her in black.... hee hee.  Spesch has a ton of fabulous digis and stamps and I had a really hard time picking one to share.  Hop on over to their web site and check them out... you won't be disappointed!!  AND... stop over to the CMC Challenge site and get in on a chance to win some digis for free!!!

My card began with Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion card stock. I added a layer of DP from the BasicGrey Little Black Dress paper pack and the yellow striped DP is from my stash of scraps.  ;-)  I stamped my image on white and colored her in with my Copics.  Hard to see here but her crown is glittered in gold and the little "jewels" on her dress are glittered with black (as well as the ones in her hair and on her necklace).  I added some swirly bling and a bit of 'pearl ribbon' to the side for more dimension.

I hope you hop on over to Spesch stamps... I'm sure you will find many images that steal your heart.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!  *HUGS*

Gina K Designs March Inspiration Hop Day 4

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop!!! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of deeply etched, pre-cut Gina K. Designs stamps! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!!

First up... Believe in Yourself by Gina K... FREE with $35 or more order!!

I LOVE this big butterfly and what's NOT perfect about this saying??!! Something everyone should definitely have around to read over and over!  Nothing like positive reinforcement, I say.

My card today started out with a Pure Luxury Lipstick Red card stock.  I added some Innocent Pink to border the DP of the same name, "Petals and Wings".  This butterfly is absolutely FUN FUN to color!! I used my Memento markers to match the colors in the DP and cut it out before propping it up on my Nestabilities Labels 23.  I added more of that wonderful DP and Lemon Drop card stock to put my sentiment on which I also colored with my markers.  And just a bit of bling on the bottom.  :-)

Next up... Great Sayings by Gina K... FREE with three set!!

  And open...

For this card I decided to make a "bookmarker" layout so that once the card is opened, they can then tear off the end and make it into a bookmarker.  :-)

My card began with Pure Luxury Raspberry card stock.  I layered on some Soft Sand and topped it with more of the new DP paper, "Pool Side".  I stamped the flowers on White and used my Memento markers to color them in.  I used the Nestabilities Fancy Tags 3 and cut the ends off the oval tag to apply to the ends of the white card stock.  A little colored hemp and some flowers finish off the bookmarker side.

Note:  If you misplace your perforating wheel on your paper cutter... do what I did... use the Scor-Bug Embosser to go down the scored line a few times and you can create your own perforated edge.  :-)

Now check out all the amazing designs and inspiration from the rest of the DT:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! *HUG*
