Sweeeeeet Surprise!!!

Today my kitty from Theresa Momber's, "Purrr-fectly Delightful" set has found a sweeeet surprise lurking on the counter! Hee Hee Now I tried really hard to make my DP "appear" to be a counter complete with a line of "caulking" across the back but... somehow... I wasn't crazy with how it turned out. I used Liquid Applique and honestly... once you have it down... uhhh... don't try to take it up. LOL So, we'll just go with it because regardless of the nasty caulk job, I like the card. *smile* I stamped the jars onto DP and cut them out. I took the top off one and left the spoon inside then propped it up then added my little mouse coming out with his own shock at seeing the cat all ready to pounce. This set has been so much fun for me and I hope you stop over to StampTV and see all the other wonderful creations created by members in the gallery. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Inspired Get Well Wishes

My card today was inspired by a photo Gina K. posted on StampTV for the Inspiration Challenge. Appropriate name, huh? *smile* I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Square Pegs" set for the leaf and the sentiment. Did a bit of faux stitching around the leave and added some DP from various Paper Packs available at Gina K Designs. My punch is a MS design and I always forget I have it. Though I don't think the picture here did justice to the card... there seemed to be more red showing... it sure showed off the ribbon color!!! LOL I hope you hop on over to STV. There is always great inspiration there and fun challenges. And remember, every time you enter a challenge you get a chance at a FREE stamp set valued at $24.95 or less... your choice!! What's not to love about that???!!!! Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Thanks, Dad!

Today I wanted to share a card I made for my dad. As some of you know, I work for my father full-time and during the last 20 years, there is one thing I know for sure. No matter how difficult he can be or how LOUD he is.... hee hee.... he is a very generous and caring person. But don't tell him... he'd deny that. *smile* I have cause to thank him more than I can count. But today, I wanted to make sure and thank him for always looking out for STILL making sure I have what I need in life. I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Tech Talk" and Theresa Momber's, "Life is Good" for the computer's wallpaper. My dad actually has a picture of a huge deer on his computer for his wallpaper. LOL Of course, he's in the picture... it is the biggest one he ever shot. Oh that picture on his desk... IS the picture he has... it's an older picture of my mom that he likes. Not sure why, because she has short hair there and he's always liked longer hair... but... this has been on his desk since he started business. I used Gina's Pure Luxury Card Stock Tan Leather because it REALLY DOES look like leather and I can't think of a better card stock for a man! Hope you have a great day!! *smile* Signature

Love Hearts

I'm going to go on record as saying this card was NOT what I intended it to be! LOL I like the layout I created, but.... I got brave and hooked up that Copic Airbrush System. Welllllll.... didn't go quite so well... hee hee. But hey... it's a start, right? And you know... I'm not ashamed of my failures... I learn from them and I don't mind sharing them with you (whether you want to look or not!) LOL. I used Tami Mayberry's newest set, "Happy Hearts" on the panel. It's kind of hard to tell here, but the small heart in the middle is popped out to add a bit of dimension. I love these hearts!!! There are so many and you know me... I wanted to use them all... but... I guess I put all on here I could for now. Hee Hee Yep... I tried that airbrush around the edges of the panel AND on the bottom heart. Not so good... but hey... practice makes perfect, right? *smile* Definitely more to come using Tami's set. It's that time of year and I need to get rollin on those Valentine cards!! My buttons are from Gina K's new "Romance" collection. There are sooo many beautiful buttons in this pack, perfect for Valentines and it was hard to decide what and how many... again... I wanted to use!! I probably should have just done a HUGE collage of hearts and buttons! LOL Hope you have a wonderful day! *smile* Signature

Eggstra Special!

Finally... I got a chance to ink up Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Square Pegs"... woohoo!! I just fell in love with the Easter eggs and the cute little designs she added with the set to make such cute decorated eggs. I started stamping a row of the eggs and did a small amount of masking. I used the designs she added and then took my Copic markers and did a few free-handed designs myself. I stamped the bunny and you can't see it here... but I used my Sakura pink glitter pen to accent his nose. I'm so happy to have a set that includes Easter. I only had one bunny and that was Melanie's, "Just So Hoppy", so I was thrilled to get some eggs and a little different bunny as well. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Memories of Girls' Weekend!

Memory boxes I made as gifts for our All-Girls Weekend we will be having at the lake in a couple weeks! Everyone going is into scrapbooking and I thought one of these wonderful boxes that Gina K demonstrated on StampTV would be a nice gift for the weekend. I used various card stocks all from Gina K's Pure Luxury line and my DP is from various paper packs also offered at Gina's store. Everyone's box was created in their favorite color. Now I want to see the two gals who have red fight over which one each of them get! LOL I haven't finished putting in the "scrap page" cards because I need to print those at home... but I am going to mount them in contrasting colors to match the box. I hope they are liked!! This one is quite simply a box I created to store Valentine cards in as I made them but, I will probably put a small batch of cards in it to give as a gift... possibly for my daughter's teacher who has asked me to create a card of some type the kids can create at Valentine's Have a great day!! *smile* Signature

Warhol Cats!???

SURPRISE!!!! Andy Warhol came to visit!! Hee Hee. I had been thinking about this card sing Theresa Momber's, "Purrr-fectly Delightful" set for quite some time. I think this kitties face was just begging to be stamped over and over and with my "Warhol-inspired" card, I think it's just adorable in all the colors!! I heat embossed each kitty in black and simply mounted them on a white card stock layer. Added a little paw printed ribbon and my Nestie tag with some yellow sponged on. Very easy to design and quick!! Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Dang!!! Caught again!

Surely you didn't think I was done with Theresa Momber's set, "Purrr-fectly Delightful", did you???? *smile* I did this card as a single layer card. Sometimes I just have a need for a white card. I think both cat and mouse are posed for each other perfectly here. I colored with my Copic markers and used my Sakura stardust Glitter and Clear pens on the salt shaker. I love the paw marks and decided to just use them as my corner embellies. *smile* Have a good day and uhhhh if you don't mind... I have a few more cards with Theresa's set. But I'll space them out a bit this week... hee hee. Signature

Sweeeet....

I'm back with yet another post using Theresa Momber's, "Purrr-fectly Delightful" set!! And you didn't even realize that sugar was involved, did you??? LOL I paper pieced the sugar jar and colored the spoon in with my Stardust Glitter Pen. Mounted it on a few circle layers using my Nestabilities and sponged around the edge with my Vivid Tuscan Tan ink. I threw on a few pieces of lace and that was it! A quick simple card to use for most any occasion! And if you can believe it or not... I actually have a few more cards to show using Theresa's wonderful set!!! Can you tell I like it at all??? Hee Hee Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Eeeeek!!! Oh... Hi!

Truly and honestly.. I am NOT a fan of mice! But how could I not use this mouse perched there on the salt shaker for a quick... Hello, how are you, card? Hee Hee Doesn't he look shocked?? Kind of a "Oh ummmm Hi, didn't see you there." LOL Theresa Momber didn't forget a cat's best friend when she drew the images for "Purrr-fectly Delightful" set. I originally did this set thinking I'd use it for a monochromatic card challenge over on Stamp TV but then realized I didn't get it posted in time. I used my Cuttlebug Distress Stripes for the background and lightly sponged over some Tuscan Tan Vivid Ink. Looks like something a mouse would crawl across, huh? Ha! I colored my mouse with several different Copic markers to make him look kind of like a "dirty rat"... hee hee. On the salt shaker I used my Sakura Glitter pen and the clear one to give it some shine. Now.. to find just the right person to give a "dirty rat" to. *evil grin* Have a great day! *smile* Signature

More Kitties from "Purrr-fectly Delightful"

I cannot tell you how excited I was when Theresa Momber asked me to design for her newest set, "Purrr-fectly Delightful"!!! I had just bought my daughter a new kitty for Christmas and I just KNEW I would love using this set to create with AND to scrap book with as I'm sure we will have many pics to take. Theresa's kitty in the tea cup from her set was just begging to be a "kept" kitten! Ha! I blinged up her cup and, of course, she HAD to be a white kitty. I added small amounts of grey to highlight her coat, but that's just the lighting... of course... hee hee. My prissy kitty would never be seen with a dirty coat... nosireee. Of course she lives in shiny, blinged up world as well. My paper is from the Paper Temptress, White Pearl Linen and then layered with Alpine Aster Glimmer card stock. Just the right amount to not overpower her precious diamonds! HA! My Queen Priss and her tea cup were colored with Copic markers. I finished off with a sponged tag and "genuine" silver thread... made for a Queen. For my next card I paired up Melanie Muenchinger's, "Mosaic Inspiration" with Theresa's set. A very simple and quick card to do. I stamped the cat, colored him with my Copic markers and cut him out. Then mounted him and the mouse accordingly and added just a small mouse hole. Now don't you think that cat was probably perched there forever just waiting? Ha! I also used the wonderful paw prints in Theresa's set to made my background DP. Be sure to hop on over to Theresa's blog to see a couple other cards I created with her set. Oh I'm not done yet... come back tomorrow and I'll share yet another card from Theresa's fabulous set! Have a great day!! *smile* Signature

"Purrr-fectly Delightful" by Theresa Momber Blog Hop

Tonight we are featuring the newest stamp set from Theresa Momber, "Perrr-fectly Delightful". I just adore the cute kittens in this set and couldn't wait to get stamping with it!!! My first card features the kitten in the tea cup. I decided to make him in the image of my daughter's new kitty she got for Christmas, Feisty! He is all black with the white in the middle of his face and white paws. Just cute as can be. I bought my tin from Michael's and decided to make a "treat container" for her kitty! All my images were colored with my Copic Markers. Around the tin.... are mice... and the wonderful paw prints Theresa included in the set! And honestly... what cat wouldn't think "SWEET"! LOL Around the lid of the tin I simply strung my bells on some jute string and used my Scor Tape to hold them in place. There are actually two layers of ribbon there. It was easy to lay the tape on one piece of ribbon... then lay the jute string and bell down on the tape and add another piece of ribbon over the top. Make sense?? LOL If you're doing a tin like this... as you can see from my punched out mice... make sure you put your adhesive all over something that can pop off the "curve" of the tin. I went back and re glued some of these little mice so they would stay put! And last.. here's how I did the top of my tin. Believe it or not... after one day of having this at home... when Feisty hears those little bells jingling, he comes running!!! He knows it's treat time! LOL I have but one more card to share with you. Hee Hee I couldn't help myself!! This card features Theresa's kitten about to strike! HA! He looks dangerous and playful at the same time!!! I used my mirror image stamp to duplicate the kitten and put the mouse in between. I love Theresa's sentiment... "Feeling frisky?"... Ha! Perfect for playful kittens. I think this poor mouse will lose the game. *wink*

Happy Birthday to.... Kitty???!!

Do you have a cat??? Did he like your presents under the Christmas tree?? Did he play with your ribbons and bows??? Did you get HIM/HER a bell??? Well now... I did!!! Hee Hee Ok ok... maybe not, but I certainly would have had I thought about it before THIS card!! HA! Theresa Momber's "Perrr-fectly Delightful" playful kitten is so adorable and I couldn't resist getting into all kinds of trouble!! What a great birthday it is when the recipient AND your cat have fun, yeah??? *smile* I stamped my kitty and colored him in with Copic markers. I added the bell to the ribbon and wrapped the corners. WAH LAH!! A perfect gift card; for him and the birthday girl/boy! I know my nephews will love getting a card like this after this last Christmas. We went over for my middle nephew's birthday on Dec. 5th and he and his younger brother said.. "Look what we are getting for Christmas!!" THEN.. they pulled two gifts out from under the tree and showed us all two gifts unwrapped by their cat!!! LOL They laughed so hard. My kids asked to borrow their cat! LOL LOL Don't forget, Theresa's blog hop featuring her wonderful set, "Perrr-fectly Delightful" will be tomorrow evening at 10:00 PM CST. Please come back to see MY 3-D project I created with her set and another card. There will be others that are joining in the hop and you can find their links right here. See you tomorrow night! *smile* Signature

Mousework???

Today's card was made with Theresa Momber's, "Perrr-fectly Delightful". I love this kitty in the tea cup. And doesn't that sentiment fit the bill?? I mean she looks like such a "kept" kitty, who could expect HER to catch mice??? Hee Hee I started with Gina K's Pure Luxury Creme de Menthe card stock as my base. Layered a bit of bright pink then Gina's Silver Lining Metallic card stock and a simple DP I found in my stache. I colored the image with Copic markers and also used the Silver Lining for my label. Stay tuned all week long as I will be showing a new design every day with Theresa's set and on Wednesday Gina K's Design Team and others Theresa has invited, myself included, will be hosting a blog hop featuring "Perrr-fectly Delightful"!! Should be full of inspiration and fun! Have a good day! *smile* Signature

Storm Lake, Iowa Fun

Yes, I did it again!! I actually got another scrap page done. This one was pretty simple and basic but I remember the day we took these pics and how much we all laughed. It was another three day trip the kids and I took in 2008 when my DH didn't have any time off to go with us. We went to Storm Lake, Iowa where they have a new hotel with an indoor water park AND an outdoor water park right on the lake. It is just beautiful and so peaceful. Emily was loving the floating discs and spent most of the time going back and forth across them as she grabbed the net above to help steady her. She kept trying to go as fast as she could and never seemed to tire of them. By the end of the day she noticed her skin on her hands was rubbing raw but did that stop her the NEXT day??? No!!!! Steven decided he would give it a shot. Now let me tell you... Steven has NO balance!!! LOL He finally gave up and bet his sister that oh yeah... he'd GET across them!!! OMGosh Emily and I laughed so hard when we saw him flop on his belly and start dragging himself across. LOL LOL We had a ball at this park and plan to go back soon. It was only a two and a half hour drive.. definitely close enough for another three day trip!!= I used some of the fantastic "Jersey Shore" digital paper that Gina K offers for FREE over on Stamp TV to frame the pictures. I then grabbed Melanie Muenchinger's, "Sporty Accessories" goggles as a background. I also used a few of the sentiments from Rupa Shevde's, "Whatever Floats Your Boat". Have a good day and get to preserving those memories. As you can see from this page, it doesn't have to be difficult. *smile* Signature

When WILL Men Learn What Women Like???

Ohhhh yeahhhh!!! I could handle this EVERY night!! How about you? Hee Hee I HAD to get this set from My Favorite Things as soon as I saw it!! "Maid for Who's That Girl" really speaks to me! Especially at times like THIS... as I'm sitting here posting to my blog!! Now be honest... wouldn't it just make YOU smile as you sip on wine and contemplate what to post and when?? Hee Hee I used my Cuttlebug Herringbone folder to emboss my background and did a bit of paper piecing on the chair and the vacuum bag. The rest of my image was colored in with my Copic markers. Now I admit, when I showed this card to my husband, he laughed and said, "You didn't make that for me, did you???". I immediately opened the card and showed him it said... "You're MY Mr. Right!". Of course he'd deny helping me clean around the house because "that's woman's work"... Ha!... but "I" know the REAL him. *smile* Have a good day and I hope if you're blogging tonight, your hubby at least gave you a glass of wine to sip on. *grin* Signature

Oh! Oh! Someone's Gonna be in Trouble!!!

Hee Hee. I so love this cute little playful kitty from Theresa Momber's newest set, "Perrr-fectly Delightful"!! Her set has this wonderful vase of daisies in it as well and I just could not help but put that frisky fella next to it! You can see it now, can't you??? I stamped him and then colored him in with my black Copic marker to resemble the kitty my daughter just got just before Christmas. HE's DEFINITELY a frisky kitty, which is why she named him Feisty!! But he's little and learning SOME things are just off limits!! I paired Theresa's set with Nina Brackett's, "Lovely Shelf". The wonderful "doily" was just over the hill paired with those flowers and the kitty just HAD to check it out! Boy oh boy is momma NOT going to be happy! Stay tuned for more "frisky" fun to come with Theresa's set. *smile* Signature

Mall of America Surprise!

I FINALLY did some scrap booking!!! Well... a few pages anyway, but it's a start, right??? The kids and I made several 3 and 4 days trips in the summer of '08 because my DH didn't have any time off work. So instead of heading out someone far away alone with the kids, we did lots of small trips and wow.. did we have fun!!! It was amazing... the first time we left... we left on a Friday after I got done working... 3:30 PM and came home Sunday afternoon. It felt like we were gone for a week!!! Short trips rock!! One trip was to the Mall of America. They had a blast there!! Not only did we shop, but they have the indoor amusement park and that was a major plus for the kids. One day after leaving the mall, we stopped to get gas and ran inside for quick snack or two to take back to our hotel. Well.... look at what WE spotted!!!! A REAL Minnesota Viking Cheerleader!!!! Actually, there were two.. one was off in another area. I talked Steven into taking his picture with her and she was very happy to. He was shy at first then realized he may never meet a REAL cheerleader again and posed nicely. I used Melanie Muenchinger's "Sporty Accessories" to embellish this page and I couldn't have found a better set!! I colored the images with my Copics and cute them out. I did use her row of stars from her "Hip to be Square" set and heat embossed them in gold. I have to tell you, when we were checking out, we noticed they were still there and Steven had said he wished he had gotten her autograph. Well.. she came up to the counter and he asked!! She said, "Sure!".... so he went to grab a napkin and I remembered when she chatted a bit with us earlier after the picture, she said they were at the Mall to sell their calendars to benefit MN Make a Wish. I asked her if they had any and she said they did so we bought one and BOTH cheerleaders signed on their page. Steven told her he was gonna give it to his dad because he couldn't come with us. How sweet, huh? *smile* Have a great day and get your scrap booking on! It's a new year!!! *smile* Signature

CSS Inspiration Blog Hop

It's time for another GinaK CenterStage Spotlight Team Blog Hop!
Each artist was asked to design their project by drawing inspiration from these photos of the AMAZING Christmas Cookie Bouquet the CSS Team sent to Gina's DT Coordinator Jessica Fick:
Here is the first card I created for the hop! I chose Melanie Muenchinger's, "Inspiration Mosaic" and went with the colors of the blue cookies for my inspiration. Using Gina K's Pure Luxury Ocean Mist paper matched the color I was looking for. I then used Melanie's, "Hip to Be Square" set and heat embossed it in white. Then put all the elements of the snow men in different blocks and finally, added him all together in one. My sentiment was also from a set designed by Melanie, "Festive Frames". My second card I again went with the same color and used yet another of Melanie's stamps, "Have a Cookie"... it IS a cookie bouquet.. hee hee. Since Jessica is such a sweet person and all of us on the Center Stage Design Team just adore her, I knew this card was definitely the card that reflected the bouquet for me. I started off using my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder and lightly brushed over it with my Aqua Vivid Ink pad. The color matches Gina K's Pure Luxury Ocean Mist paper so nicely. I stamped and cut out two of the cookies from the set. After coloring the top of them using my Versamarker I heat embossed adding clear embossing powder to them making them appear to be yummy frosted cookies!!! I added some half white pearls to the cookies for sprinkles and also to mimic the design on the original cookies. Here's a close up so you can see how shiny the "frosted" cookies look. Good enough to eat, huh?? I used my Nestabilities hearts to create an area to place my sentiment. A bit of black satin ribbon to tie in with the black on the cookies and there you have it... my sweet card for a sweet Design Team Coordinator! *smile*

Have fun hopping!! *smile* Signature

Gina's Inspiration

My card today is for the inspiration challenge Gina K presented to us on StampTV. She showed us a picture of one of her gardening magazines which featured potted plants and lots of green... YAY... a VERY welcome sight compared to snow!!! I used Nina Brackett's, "Lovely Shelf" which I chose the potted flower from. I colored it in with my Copic markers and cut it completely out. I wanted a simple but flowery card so I used the image layered over some of the gorgeous flowered paper from the "Lemonade" paper pack at Gina K's. My card base is the very "Spring looking" Pure Luxury Green Apple. I cannot wait for Spring!!! I was just looking at a magazine myself on having a "potted" flowery garden and boy does it make you forget about all the snow and blizzards we've had lately!! Great inspiration, Gina!!!! Have a great day! *smile* Signature
