Round We Go with La-La Land Crafts!!!

Good morning.... from Colorado!!! Yep... We're still here!!!  Loving every single moment of it!!!  Talk about peaceful and relaxing!!  Ahhhhhh... never have enough time, I'm sure!!  Today we are at The Royal Gorge!  Something tells me I MAY have to Zip Line... eeeeeek!!!!  Yesterday we did Pikes Peak Cograil.  Figured it was safer for us to do that than burn out some brake shoes, know what I mean? LOL  It is truly beautiful country and I could TO easily be persuaded to live here but you know how it is... "grass is always greener"... well, not lately, here but you get it.  Everything has it's pitfalls and yes, though it'd be easy to stay, I doubt I'll move any time soon.  :-)

I made my card to showcase La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday which happens to be a circle card, but I truly wasn't thinking about where I'd be at the time it was shared.  Country all the way!!!  :-)  Cute little "Cowgirl Marci" was so appropriate!

My card begins with Pure Luxury Bubble Gum Pink and I added some DP from the GK Patterned  Paper Pack, "Petals and Wings".  Marci was colored using my Copic markers and I cut her out then added some Pop Dots to raise her up a bit.  A little hemp bow and some Prima flowers and Petaloos finished her off.  My sentiment was from Tami Mayberry's last release, "Grand Tags".

I hope you enjoyed all the inspirational "circle" cards on the La-La Land Crafts Blog.  I never do enough of them!!

Have a great day and I'm sure when I get home this weekend I'll have LOADS of pics to share!!  Thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS*

Just Beachy...

Happy Monday!!!  Today we woke up six hours from home.  Yesterday we headed (the long route, I might add) to Colorado.  We are in Kansas because the OLDEST geocache in the US is in Kansas and yep.. we can sure get to Colorado by way of Kansas!!!  NO WAY was hubby going to be this close to the oldest geocache without getting it and we were all game.  He's much more of a "die hard" cacher than the kids and I so we all agree to indulge him from time to time. And yay, we all get to log it as well so why not.

It was over 100 degrees the whole drive here so as soon as we hit the hotel our daughter HAD to go take a dip in the pool.  I'm never happy about putting on a swim suit but there are SOME things a mother will do, regardless, just for their kids and yep, this is one.  Ugh!  Though it's NOT the beach, like sweet Summer Marci and Beach Luka from La-La Land Crafts are enjoying here, it surrrreee felt good!!!  These two sweeties are some of the newest CHA Summer released stamps and how perfect are they in all this heat?!!

My card began with Pure Luxury Little Boy Blue card stock.  I layered on some Sweet Mango and Sweet Corn.  My "water" is from the GK Patterned Paper Pack, "Poolside" and the "sand" is from the "Sundance" pack.  I tore the edge of the "Sundance" and added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, "Vintage Photo".  I colored my images with Copic markers and added some Stardust Stickles to some of the seashells.   I also added some to the Sun die from La-La Land's "Cloud, Sun & Island" die set.

Tomorrow I'll be on top  of a mountain in Colorado!!! Woot!!!  Hope I don't get a nose bleed! LOL

Thanks for stoppin by and I'll share more of the La-La Land CHA Summer release this week for you so stay tuned!!  *HUGS

Girlie Kimmies!

Have you played in the Color Me Creative challenges lately??? This next couple weeks would be a great time to do so, if you're like me... and LOVE "all things girly".  Oh ya.. bring on the pink, white, lace and bling!  Yep... this challenge is "anything goes but with a girly twist"!  Today I am using Kraftin Kimmie's, "Calla Lilly" stamp.  Kraftin Kimmie is our sponsor for this challenge and you won't want to miss a chance at winning some fabulous stamps!!!

I started my card with Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White and added a layer of the Layering Weight whih I embossed using my Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossing folder.  I added a 4" doily to the top as well for a bit more texture.  My image was colored with Copics and I added a layer of white which I punched around the edges before adhering it under the image.  Also added some Stardust Stickles to her wrap for a bit more bling.

A small dotted ribbon, bow and flower to finish it off.  I hope you join us at CMC!!  We have a new challenge every two weeks so make sure you check them out!!

My family and I are leaving as soon as my husband gets home from work this morning for our vacation to visit my dear friend, Lee Murphy, and her husband on their mountain home in Colorado!!  Lee and I have talked about this for THREE YEARS now!!!  It's hard to believe it's finally happening!!  We plan to do a lot of crafting and stamping while the guys all head out for a bit of Geocaching!!  Then we plan to spend a day at The Royal Gorge and afterwards head ot Manitou Springs and spend another day at Pikes Peak and Santa's Workshop!!!  The kids are DEFINITELY looking forward to that!!  Not to mention the hotels in between!! OMGosh my kids could walk across the street from where we live and stay at a hotel and be in heaven!! LOL  Something about the swimming, the silly night time giggles and of course, the pools, that really appeal to them! LOL

We'll be back in a week and something tells me Momma will need a vacation AFTER the vacation!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!!! *HUGS*

Embossing with La-La Land Crafts!

Today the Design Team from La-La Land Crafts are sharing not only a tutorial with you... but some awesome inspiration using dry and/or heat embossing.  Be sure to stop by the La-La Land Blog to check it all out!

Today I used Mermaid Marci to do a little embossing with.  Isn't she adorable??!! Again... I LOVE my mermaids!!!  This one is no exception!!

My card base is Paper Trey Ink's, "Lavender Moon".  I layered it with some Aqua Mist which I embossed using my Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I colored Marci with my Copics and cut her out.  I added some Pop Dots to give her a little more dimension before adding her to the card.  I used my MS branch punch to resemble coral under the sea and a few pearls for rocks.  Of course some added bling flourishes to resemble her wake.  :-)

I hope you enjoy the cards on the La-La Land Blog and get lots of inspiration.  Remember, there are new themes every week and a new display of creations every Monday and Friday!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT Friday!!!  Woot!!! *HUGS*

Christmas in July???

Seriously, right??? Ohhh yes... somehow, someone, somewhere seems to always put a challenge out on a Christmas in the middle of the year.  Why is that??? Come on... they surely are not dying to for it to come so quickly, right??? LOL  Funny story... when I first met my hubby and we were dating... I was going through some really tough things.  He came over one day and handed me a box of Christmas cards... really basic, cheap looking cards he had gotten at a thrift store of sorts (or so I imagined, hadn't seen any other stores with them around! LOL).  Anyway... he said... "Here, this will make you feel better."  I was dumbfounded as it was September.  Then he said.. "Sending Christmas cards ALWAYS makes you feel good!"  I kinda laughed and said something about it being September.  He just smiled and said.... "Come on... give it a try!"  So we sat and made out Christmas cards and you know what??? It did!!! It made me laugh and forget about my troubles and we had so much fun.  BUT... the kicker... we ACTUALLY mailed them!!  HA HA  Yes, people who know me were NOT surprised to get a card in their mailbox.  And I suspect (KNOW) I made a few others smile that day as they opened their mail as well.  :-)  So hey, give it a try sometimes.  Hee

This card was made for the Outlawz Challenge site.  Not only did they want a Christmas themed card, but they also wanted it to be a shaped card.  No squares/rectangles allowed.  My image is from Mo's Digital Pencil... "Santa's Hat".  (I just skipped to the site for the link and didn't even realize I colored my image in the same colors as the web site shows. LOL  Ooopsie!)

My card began with Pure Luxury Red Hot card stock.  I cut the shape using my Nestabilities Labels 10.  My image was printed on White and colored with my Copic markers.  I also used the same Nesties to cut it out... just a size smaller.  I added some Memento Cantaloupe ink around the edges prior to removing the die.  I also added a couple of the fab ticket tags from Tami Mayberry's set, "Ticket Trio". A few pearls and a little twine finish it off.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments Designs - Christmas in July
The Crazy Challenge - Christmas in July
Ladybug Craft Ink - Christmas in July
Stamps N Plus Scrap N - Anything Goes

I hope you have a great Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS*

Gina K Designs June Inspiration Hop Day 3

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop!!! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of deeply etched, pre-cut Gina K. Designs stamps! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!!  This is the last day of our hop so let's get going.... first up...

The Good Life by Gina K Designs....

For this set, I decided the best thing for me to do today was to find a good, relaxing place to read and enjoy some fresh air!! Oh yay!!! THIS will get it!!  And hey... if there was a place like this near me I could claim... I'd DEFINITELY have me a nice banner hanging to brighten my spot! Ha!!

My card starts with Pure Luxury Turquoise Sea.  My images were stamped on White and colored with my Copic markers.  I added pieces of DP from the Gina K Patterned Paper Pack, "Hello Sunshine"... Of course blue for the sky and green for the ground... hee!  OMGosh I'm just full of it today, huh? Ha!

Next up....

The newest "One Free with Three" set has so many great sentiments in it.  I decided rather than use an outside sentiment and one for the inside, I'd place them both on the front giving me an open area inside to write my personal message.  I also used Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Pretty Patterns" to create a background for my card.  I cut the sentiments using my Spellbinders Big Scallop Rectangles.

A bit of ribbon and some bling across the center finishes my card.  I think MIGHT... MIGHT be a good card for your hubby... you know, if you're feeling especially grateful for him that day.  Today... eh... LOL  Just kidding.

Now check out all the amazing designs and inspiration from the rest of the DT:

I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration hops this week.  It's been fun creating with the new sets and I bet if you have your sets by now, you too are enjoying playing.  Don't forget to leave the comments on each members blog for a chance to win!!

As always, I appreciate your stopping by and joining us for another great release!! Have a fabulous Wednesday!! *HUGS*

Ok so you can shoot me cause I'm not sure what you call this ummm totem pole looking guy! LOL  But I DO know I like him!! Hee Hee  And... if I was getting a good luck card from Hawaii... I'm pretty sure I'd love to see him AND the pineapple on it that Theresa has put in this set!  :-)

My card started with Pure Luxury Kraft card stock and I added in a layer of Lemon Drop to bring out the yellow I stamped the pineapples in.  I used my Copic markers to color in my "totem dude" (hee I like that!) and added a little twine to finish it off.  Quick, easy and all "Hawaiian-nature-like"... LOL

Next up....

Becky's cute set will definitely make for a quick thank you, invite or easy announcement cards for any wedding in any color.  Of course I chose purples!!  Oh yay!

I used the Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White for my card and layered it with the layering weight which I used my Nestie lacy rectangle die on.  A few added roses and a bow.  Easy and again quick.  In this age of "modern" weddings, this set is sure to be a hit!!!

Now check out all the amazing designs and inspiration of the rest of the Design Team:

Don't forget to leave your comments!!  With the summer of weddings, trips and vacations, these sets are bound to be ones you'll want to have!!!

Gina K Designs June Inspiration Hop

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop!!! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of deeply etched, pre-cut Gina K. Designs stamps! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!!  Let's get started... first up....

I decided to use Melanie's set as my background image set.  To create "somewhat" of a background but to piece it for added dimension.

I began with Pure Luxury Lemon Drop card stock and added a layer of the pretty blue from the Carnival Paper Pack.... you know I LOVE my brights!!!  ;-)   I stamped the circles and lines image from Melanie's set onto pieces of white card stock and then cut them and mounted them separately for the background.  I snuck in the circle from another new set... (to be shared tomorrow... *wink*) and added it as my sentiment.

I am sooo excited about this set and it is DEFINITELY a GREAT one for those who love the new clear stamps Gina K has in stock now!!! FABulous!!!

Next Up on the hop......

Yet another TOTALLY rockin set from Tami!!!  And although the whole... "grand" piano thing is right up my ally... I decided to use the other label image today.

I began with some Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet card stock and layered on some of the Lovely Lavender after I used a bit of embossing on it.  My image was stamped on white and I used a few leaf die cuts to place under it before using Pop Dots to add it to my card.   A bit of twine finished off my card.

Now check out all the amazing designs and inspiration from the rest of the Design Team:

Remember to leave a comment on everyone's blog for a chance to win!!!  Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow with even more inspiration from the new sets!!!

Have a great Monday!!! *HUGS*

Stamp TV Live Chat Challenge #3

Today I'm sharing the card I created for the Stamp TV Live Chat Challenge.  My inspiration was....

Hey... what can I say... it's not only CLEAN and Simple (easy) but it's patriotic right??? I LOVE these little pens.  And they are all I need some days.

So let's keep with our Indendence Day celebration and use the good ol Red, White and Blue but make it an easy and simple one.  I chose my sentiment because there's obviously no better place on earth to make your dreams come true but in the USA!!  And everyone here holds their destiny in their hands... you just have to reach for it and do it! My card used Tami Mayberry's set, "Stars"

Please create and upload a new project for this challenge.

You may not link a previous card/project.

There is no combining of Stamp TV challenges allowed to be eligible to win a prize.  However, you can combine it with challenges outside of Stamp TV.

And remember, you don't have to use Gina K. Designs stamps, but if you do, your name will go into a drawing twice!

The deadline for this challenge is Tuesday, July 10th at 8:00 pm CT
Make sure you add your keyword: STVLIVECHAT3
Now let me see what you can do!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Saturday!!! *HUGS*

La-La Land Crafts Salutes Your Country!!

Today the La-La Land Crafts Design Team wants to celebrate your country!  Our inspiration for this week is to use the colors that represent your country in your design!!  You can see all the inspiration on the La-La Land Crafts Blog

Today I used Marci with Tulip for my card. I LOVE red and white tulips so this was just the perfect image to help represent the USA colors!

I started with Pure Luxury Red Hot card stock for my base and added a layer of In the Navy.  Some DP I found in my stash as well.  My image was stamped on White and colored with Copic markers.  I used my Oval Nestabilites to cut her out before mounting her with Pop Dots.  Ohhh and what about those awesome filigree corner dies??? I LOVE these!!!  If you haven't seen the dies over at La-La Land, you must go look.  I think I have all but maybe two that I KNOW I'll be ordering as well.  Hee

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Independence Day celebration.  I had a card to post but got lost in making a wedding guest book that I needed to have done by today and totally forgot to add it to my blog.  But... I'll throw it up here tomorrow since it is part of the Stamp TV Chat Challenge this week.

My son and I are taking a trip to the eastern side of Iowa.  Doing a little shopping and site seeing.  We rarely get to do a "trip" alone together and so we decided to take advantage of some "alone time" before my daughter arrives back home Sunday from spending a week and a half with Grandma and Grandpa at the Lake.  Actually, she doesn't know it, but we are heading down Saturday to spend the night and pick her up!!  It was the first time she'd been away from home ever for any length of time.  It's been kind of hard for her... she's pretty homesick.  And this summer was the first time she'd EVER stay over night at a friend's house.  She's just pretty much been attached to my hip since she was born.  So... it was good she gave it a go even though, as she says, she's "tired of the drama". LOL  Seems grandpa yelled at her for "butt-dialing" him a couple times the other day.  LOL  Personally, this mom misses her just as much but know I have to let her experience these things so she can be as independent as her mommy.  Hee Hee

So, I'm off to bed so I can rise early and shop shop shop!!!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!  *HUGS*

Soooo GRAND!!!!

Oh yes, Oh yes, Oh YES!!!!  GRAND is where it's at!!!  I'm TOTALLY thrilled with Tami Mayberry's newest set, "Grand Tags" from Gina K Designs!!  Both my kids and I play piano and, yes, we have a baby Grand of our own so this set is calling my name soooo loudly!!!

My card today is part of the Outlawz Greetings Challenge which is "Anything Goes" this week!  The only requirement is you must have a greeting on the front of the card.  I hope you play along because not only did Tami create this fabulous set I used in my card, but she is also sponsoring the challenge this month and offering up her "Vintage Notes" set for the winner!!  Yet another fabulous set!

For my card I started with Pure Luxury Black Onyx.  I added a layer of Wild Dandelion and then some of the fabulous FREE Digi Paper, "Basic Wardrobe" from Stamp TV.  I stamped my image on White and cut it out after using my Memento Wild Dandelion marker to color it in.  I mounted it on top of another piece of Wild Dandelion and added a bit of ribbon anda small flower to finish my card.

I hope you stop over to the Outlawz Challenge site and join us in the Greetings Challenge this week.  And as always... thanks for stopping by!! Have a great Monday!!!  *HUGS*
