Bling on the Cake!!!

I've been seeing these awesome works of "cake" all over Facebook and on blogs lately and I just HAD to try one myself.  Doesn't it look yummy????!!!  Hee Hee

I began with Gina K Designs Pure Luxury white heavy base weight card stock.  I cut out the template (THIS is the site where you too can get a template for free!) and began by decorating the sides with Melanie Muenchinger's "Bring the Bling" set.  After stamping the "bling" I used my Sakura Clear Glaze Pen to add a bit of shine and dimension to the stamped images.  Next I folded all the necessary sides and used my Scor-Tape to make sure it would stick good and solid!  Then I added my own ribbon/pearls and a small rose and butterfly on the top!  Now... it's ready to...???? eat??? Not exactly, but a VERY cute gift box or even just a display at a shower or birthday!!

I gave this "slice" to Vicki Dutcher when I went to meet her last week.  We had a fun day of shopping and lunch and, of course, LOTS of chatter! :-)

Give the cake template a try... I intend to make even more!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

A Violet Sketch

Monday was Sketch  Challenge day over on Stamp TV.  Have you had a chance to play along??? I had a blog hop with Gina K Designs Design Team and a QUICK contest I entered on my blog, so I am posting my card a coupe days late.  YOU will want to be sure and play along for a chance to win a FREE stamp set valued at $24.95 of your choice from Gina K's!!!

Here is the sketch Gina gave us to play along to....

My card was created using the new Stamp TV Kit, Springtime Silhouettes.  I began with Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet card base.  I found a piece of DP in my stash and cut it into a large circle using my Nestabilities dies.  I spritzed it with water and crumbled it up in my hand then smoothed it out a bit and added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Milled Lavender, to the edges and across the "crinkled" areas.  I stamped my flowers after I used my Memento markers to color them in and sprayed them with a bit of water before stamping.  I used my rectangle Nesties to cut out and emboss them then again added more of the Milled Lavender before removing the die.

My sentiment was stamped on Lovely Lavender and I cut the ends and added a little bling.

Remember to play along for a chance to win and be sure to add the tag in the sketch above to your upload into the Stamp TV gallery.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! *smile*

Brave Girls Club - Restored my Soul!!

This year I began with not a New Year's Resolution.. but a new purpose.  I wanted to be the best I can... to learn WHO I was... to gain more self-confidence... to look at ME and see who "I" really am.  How did I do this??? Well, it was easier, more creative and more FUN than I could have imagined!!!

I joined the online class held by Melody Ross and The Brave Girls Club!!!  When this journey into "me" started, I wasn't sure WHERE to begin or how.  Melody lead us through a series of projects that, unbeknownst to me, gave me just the tools I needed to really look into my soul and learn not only WHO I am... but WHY I am the way I am.  AND, the courage and strength to realize I CAN be who I want to be and not feel as though being a mom, wife, daughter, or employee has to be ALL I am.  I can live the life I imagined and be happy and STILL be there for all those who depend on me.  I am JUST as important to ME as those who depend on me.

I'd like to share a small sample of some of those projects that helped me to see what I am... how I got there and maybe a little of where I go to make sure I am the best I can be.

Our first project was to create a journal of our "house"... in other words, our soul.  This is a place I can go back to and remind myself what I need to do and practice to get me through all facets of my life. I LOVE flipping through this book... remembering that I CAN take time out for me and take time to reflect on the things that frustrate me, challenge me, make me doubt myself, and also see those things that I can do to change my way of thinking and remind me what I need to do to take care of me.

Here is a sample page from my journal....

To help me remember what the TRUTH is about me... we made "truth cards".  I LOVE these cards.  They talk to ME and are daily motivation to myself.  This one I have up where I can read it at my studio.

(Hee Hee.. that is a REAL pic of me when I was little and one where I appear to be happy and loved even though I don't remember the picture being taken.)

I never felt like I remembered much about my childhood and when we created our "timeline"... I was shocked to realize all I really DID remember.  And, I even found a few "ah ha!" moments as to why I am the way I am at times.  This was part of my time line.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I learned about myself.  How much encouragement, support and hope this class gave me.  I am NOT saying I had a terrible life before taking this class.  But I will say this... it has changed my outlook on so many things.  I KNOW I can be happy no matter the situation in my life at the moment.  I am brave... I am strong... I am VERY happy... and it's ok to feel lost at times.  It's ok to be confused and feel as though the weight of the world is on my shoulders because NOW I know how to deal with it.  How to remind myself that "tomorrow is a new day and I can start all over again".  I also know that I am NOT the only woman to feel overwhelmed, lost or afraid.  I CAN handle everything that comes my way and I know that when I listen to my "truth teller" I have all I need to succeed and be the best I can for not only everyone around me... but for ME as well.  :-)

I cannot wait to join the Soul Restoration 2 class to see what other encouraging advice Melody and The Brave Girls Club has to share with us.  I can never learn enough to help me be a better me.

I would recommend this course to anyone who wonders... am I good enough?... am I strong enough?... how did I get here?... what makes me tick?... and what can "I" do to make sure I am living my best life possible?

You will NOT regret being a "Brave Girl"!!!  I am blessed beyond words and I cannot say enough about Melody Ross and her team of Brave Girls!  Thank you Melody for believing in yourself enough to share your lessons, experiences, dreams and life with all of us!

To learn more about The Brave Girls Club and Soul Restoration, visit the Brave Girls Site HERE.  Below... just a little about what the Brave Girls Club and Soul Restoration are.

Have a great day and keep smiling!!!  *HUGS*

Q. What is the purpose or the intended outcome of this workshop?
A: If you know anything about Brave Girl Camp, you know that the workshops developed and artfully taught by Melody Ross are truly life changing. Her heart-penetrating curriculum is unlike anything you have seen before, and she presents it in true ‘Melody’ style….fun, enjoyable, meaningful, and extremely relatable. She combines her own stories and life experiences with ‘soul crafting’ (creative art projects, collage, journaling, etc.) to teach women from all over the world how to get unstuck, back on track, and restored to their best self.
Soul Restoration is this curriculum and more…. What we intend to provide in this workshop is an effective and enjoyable process of getting every woman to really really think and hear her own soul again…to help her remember what brings her the most joy, to know of & remember all of the things that she is good at and that make her heart sing…to get back on track and to unleash the courage and motivation to stay on track….to reunite with her soul.
This workshop is a method of helping each woman become reacquainted with her deepest self through remembering and reuniting her with her inner ‘Truth-Teller’. She will be helped to discern truth from lies that hold her back and make her feel less than who she is…to remember her dreams, her potential, her gifts and talents, all the possibilities and unique answers for her life (because it is different for each of us). This curriculum is intended to enable each woman to find and then keep the bravery it needs to stay joyfully true to her own path.
Because it will take bravery to guide her life by the truths that she has found and remembered, and to put aside voices that are confusing, judgmental, and opinionated, this curriculum is intended to continue beyond the 6 weeks that we are together, giving each woman a set of skills and beautiful tools that will carry her throughout her life.

A Grand Thank You to Spellbinders!!

The Gina K Designs team would like to welcome to you this special Spellbinders Thank You Blog Hop!! Recently Spellbinders generously gifted each member of our Design Team with the amazing new Grand Calibur!!! What an exciting gift for sure and we are absolutely enjoying this fabulous machine!! We have made some special cards and projects to showcase the new Grand Calibur and why we are loving it so much!! Thank you so very much Spellbinders!!!  You should have come here by way of  Theresa Momber's blog.  If you stopped here first... please start at the beginning over on Stamp TV's Main Forum.
I have had sooo much fun using this machine for not only this easel card but I've made a couple wall hangings with it as well.  Using both the Grand Nestabilities AND throwing in my Oval Nestabilities to make an opening for photos and sentiments as well.   And... you can EASILY fit a full 8 1/2 x 11 piece through the machine and cut several regular sized Nestabilities all at once!!!

The project I created with the Grand Calibur was an easel card!! I really like these for sentiments I want to showcase and keep out in my studio.  I used the Grand Scalloped Squares for my base and top of my easel using Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion.  Next I layered on some Creme de' Menthe and another layer using the Grand Scalloped Square next smaller Nestie in Ocean Mist.  I added some ribbon and lace around the two layers and adhered it to my base.  I used my Grand Labels 4 to stamp my sentiment on to the top of the easel from Theresa Momber's, "Timeless Treasures" and before removing my Nestie, I sponged on some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

For the bottom part I again used the Grand Labels 4 to layer up my Wild Dandelion and again the white for my sentiment.  I added some flowers around the top edge and a butterfly in the lower corner and on the bottom layer just a small blue flower to accent.  I LOVE having this displayed in my studio and it would make a great gift to give that can be enjoyed more than just the time it takes to read a card.

And here's a peak at a couple other items I'm made with my Grand Calibur that were posted previously on my blog.

Thank you again Spellbinders for giving us such an awesome machine and gift!!!  I'm sure you'll see more items from myself and the Design Team as we play and enjoy creating with this amazing machine!!

Now hop on over to Valerie Stangle's blog to see what wonderful creation she has to share!!!

Enjoy the hop and thanks for stopping by! *smile*

Blinging it Out to Sea

Today I'd like to share a card I made using both Asela Hopkins newest set, "Make a Splash" and also Melanie Muenchinger's new set, "Bring the Bling"

My card starts with Pure Luxury Little Boy Blue.  I layered some Black Onyx on top and then a layer of DP from the Jersey Shore digital pack which you can download for FREE from the Stamp TV site HERE.  I cut another piece of Little Boy Blue using my Nestabilities Labels 14 and then used my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  I wrapped some twine around it and mounted my Circle Nestabilitie with my images stamped on it with Pop Dots.  I used Copic markers to color my fish and my waves and "extra" bubbles were done using Melanie's set, "Bring the Bling".  A few seashells from my stash and my seaworthy card is finished!  :-)

Thanks for stopping by and stopped back by tomorrow for a special blog hop from Gina K Designs' Design Team!!

Have a great day!!! *smile*

Blinging Party!!!

Yayyy!!! The new Gina K Designs March Releases are all out and we had sooo much fun at the Release Party and did you check Gina's blog to see if you won any of the new stuff??? OMGosh... I cannot imagine not having ALL these sets!!!  Today I am showcasing a card I made with Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Bring on the Bling".  Such a HUGELY versatile set and FUN too!!!

My card started with some Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight white.  I layered on some Black Onyx and then another layer of the white.  I used Nina Brackett's newest set, "Lovely Labels 3" for the sentiment.  THEN... I blinged it on!!!!!  I stamped my bling in the colors of the Stickles I wanted to use.  The key is to do this and THEN add your Stickles.  But I find that if you use the same color ink pad as you are going to use in the Stickles colors, if you go over and a bit of the ink shows... it won't matter much.  It will all blend in.

On the bottom "scalloped" blings, I only used the Stickles in the middle and where the scallops meet.  Just to show some versatility with adding bling and not adding.

I soooo love this set and I know it will be one that I keep nearby for all those times I want bling but either haven't had a chance to buy some or... when I want just a subtle bling using just the ink.  AWESOME set, I'm telling you!

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Friday's Flying Colors!!

The Gina K Designs March Release has been revealed and the Design Team did their samples hop so now... we're back to the regularly schedule Stamp TV Color Challenge on Friday!!! Yayyy!!  I love purple and I REALLY REALLY LOVE the new Gina K Pure Luxury paper, Wild Lilac!!!!  But I struggle putting orange with any shade of purple!!  So... that's the beauty of the challenge... it IS a challenge!! I persevered and here... are the colors Gina picked for us this week....

I decided to join all the wonderful Gina K Designs purple toned Pure Luxury card stock together for my card.  I began my base with Lovely Lavender.  Next I added a layer of Sweet Mango and on top of that I added a sheet of the Vibrant Violet.  Topping it all off with the new Wild Lilac which I used my Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder on.  IF you're a purple lover like me... YUMMMM!!!  Hee Hee

My image was stamped on white and I used Vivid Ink, Purple.  I stamped my image twice and cut out the one and mounted on top of the other for more dimension.  Then... I added Melanie Muenchinger's, "Bring the Bling" to create a trail from my butterfly.  I used my purple Stickles to add a bit to the bling and then the orange on the butterfly wings.  Before I removed my Nestabilitie Oval, I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Dried Marigold, to add some color around the edges.

I used my Nestabilities Beaded Oval on my Sweet Mango paper and added it under the image angled just a bit for a different layout.  I added a little lace with some lavender ribbon with purple dots and a few coordinating buttons and bakers twine to finish it off.

Be sure to submit your project to enter yourself in the drawing for a FREE stamp set from Gina K Designs of your choice valued at up to $24.95.  Upload your piece to the Stamp TV gallery and be sure to add the tag listed above in the color sample.  Remember, if you use Gina K Design stamps, your name goes in the drawing TWICE!!!  Good luck!!

Have fun playing along and thanks for stopping by!!! *smile*

My Drummer Girl

Did you all get rolling on playing along with Stamp TV's newest Sketch Challenge??? I was posting new cards created with the new March Release all day this week so this is my first chance to share with you MY sketch card.

Here is the sketch Gina gave us to work with this week...

I started with a card base of Pure Luxury Bubble Gum Pink.  I added some embossing to it from a folder I found in my supplies.  My image is from Tami Mayberry's, "Live Life Loud" set from last month's release.  In that I have a daughter who plays drums, I HAD to go pink!!! :-)

I used my Circle Nestabilities and my Lacey Circles Nestabilities for my images.  I used Vivid ink, Raspberry, to stamp all my images with.  On my main image I used some Memento Angel Pink to sponge round the edges before removing my Nestie.

I hope you've had a chance to try out the sketch. Remember, your name goes into a drawing for a free stamp set from Gina K Designs valued at $24.95 of your choice!  AND... don't forget, you don't have to use Gina K Designs stamps, but if you do, your name goes into the drawing twice!!!

Have a great day and good luck with the sketch and drawing!! Can't wait to see what you create!  *smile*

Gina K March Preview Hop Day 4

Where do I begin??? OMGosh this Stamp TV Kit - "Springtime Silhouettes" has GOT to be my ALL-TIME FAVORITE kit so far!!!!!  I LOVE every single image in it!!!  AND... the tons of paper and DP you get is amazing!!

For my first card, I used the Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart card stock for my base.  I layered up some Little Boy Blue and then used a piece of DP I found in my stash.  My bird was stamped using Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Faded Jeans, on white card stock and cut out.  I mounted it with a few Pop Dots.  My sentiment was stamped onto a white and cut out using my Nestabilities Ribbon Tag 2.  I found the ribbon, doily and flower in my stash as well and thought they fit in perfectly with my colors!!

Next up, I used the Pure Luxury Black Onyx as my card base.  I layered a bit of White and some Passionate Pink to it.  I used my Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder to add texture to the pink layer.  My image was stamped onto my Labels 8 Nestie in white and then I mounted that onto another larger frame in Black Onyx. I punched the bottom of my card with a lace design and added a row of self-adhesive Pearls to it along with the flowers.

Hop on over to the rest of the DT blogs and check our their fabulous projects next!!! Don't forget Gina will be drawing for some lucky winners from those that are leaving comments on the DT blogs.  You don't want to miss a chance to get this truly AWESOME kit for free!!!!  Good luck!!!

Have a great day and I hope you enjoyed the Design Team member's blog hop this week! It was certainly fun and jam packed with loads of inspiration!!! *smile*

Gina K March Preview Hop Day 3

Tami Mayberry's, "Perfect Pennants" is soooo much fun and I've been dying to get a pennant set.  So glad I waited!!!  Tami's stamps also coordinate with the new Spellbinders pennant dies which are just now releasing.  They will be in the Gina K Designs store as well... yippee!!!

I wanted to make a birthday card full of prints and color for my daughter's tenth birthday and Tami's set was PERFECT for it!!!  I started with a base card of Pure Luxury Ocean Mist and then layered on some Wild Dandelion.  My DP layer is from the Basic Grey Hopscotch pack.  I stamped my pennants on White using Vivid Inks and Memento Inks.  I cut them each out and layered up the little pennants on top of the larger ones.  When I attached them to the card I simply glued down the very top of each so they appeared to be attached but yet hanging loose on the bottoms.  I added bakers twine to the ends and also stamped my sentiment and layered it on a Nestabilities Fancy Tag which I cut one end off.

Rupa Shevde's newest set, "Cute as a Bug" is true to it's name!! OMGosh these little guys were so cute and I just couldn't decide which one to start with so I used them all!!! LOL

I began by spritzing my tags with color and then found some coordinating DP to go along the bottom of each. My images were stamped on Pure Luxury white and colored with my Copic markers.  I used my Scallop Circle and Lacy Circle Nestie on the bee and ladybug image.  I used my Copic multi-liner to free-hand some dots and dashes around each image.  I added my sentiment and cut it out and added a small eyelet to the ends.  I found some coordinating bakers twine and added a button on each.  They really are a "Cute as a Bug" set!

My final card features Nina Brackett's, "Lovely Labels 3".  Nina can really crank out those stamp sets that coordinate with the Spellbinder Nestabilities and this set  is FABULOUS for those manly cards!  But... they are awesome for a feminine card as well.  I focused on a manly design because those are just not always something I have on hand when I need them!

I began with Pure Luxury Kraft card stock and layered on some All Spruced Up.  The DP I found in my stash.  I stamped my image on the Kraft card stock as well using Memento Ink, Bamboo Leaves.  I carefully cut around the image and mounted it with Pop Dots.  My ribbon was layered in the middle and I added a small button with some twine.

Make sure to stop by all the Design Team member blogs below and don't forget to leave a comment on each for a chance to win one of these fabulous new sets!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!! *smile*

Gina K March Preview Hop Day 2

Welcome to day two of the Gina K Designs Design Team blog hop showcasing the newest March releases.  Melanie Muenchinger's newest release, "Bring the Bling" has so many options you can use with it!!!  Make sure you check out her blog for all the "insider tips" on how to use this set!!

I started my card with a base of Pure Luxury Metallic, Silver Lining, card stock.  I layered on a piece of Black Onyx.  I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black and I added silver Stickles to just the hearts.  The sweet option is.. I COULD have used Stickles to completely cover the Bling image but decided to leave the flourishes in black.  LOVE LOVE LOVE this set!!! You will be amazed with the options this set will give you as well.

Theresa Momber's set, "Warm with Love" feels more than just warmth and love to me... I feel sooooo relaxed when I not only see this set... but work with it!!

My card was created using Pure Luxury In The Navy card stock.  I layered it up with some Green Grass and my image was stamped on White card stock.  I used a brayering technique on this card that I learned from my sweet friend, Sherri Seffens, while visiting Gina K Designs in Wisconsin a couple summers ago.  (Such a fun day!!)  HERE is Sherri's tutorial from her blog on how to create this awesome background.

In addition to Theresa's newest set, I paired up the trees from her "Life is Good" set alongside "Warm with Love" to create this peaceful image.

Next up, Asela Hopkins, "Make a Splash"!!!  The images in this set are just adorable and I couldn't decide which ones I wanted to work with first!!!  My card base is Ocean Mist and I layered it with Turquoise Sea which I tore the top off and added a bit of Tim Holtz Distress ink, Broken China, to the edges.  I stamped my image on White card stock and colored with my Copic markers (see colors used below).  I couldn't resist adding Melanie's "Bring the Bling" to the top of the already sprouting whale along with more Stickles.  I also used the single "bling" stamp to add a few dots to the Turquoise Sea layer.  My twill was stamped with part of one of the sentiment stamps in the set as well.  I popped up the seashell with Pop Dots and added a small starfish charm to the stamped seashell.

Now hop along with the other DT members to see their amazing creations and remember.... add a comment to each blog as Gina will be drawing for winners of these stamps as well!!!  You won't want to miss a chance!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!  Enjoy the hop and good luck!!! *smile*

    Theresa's Flowers Make my Day!!

Today I'd like to share a card I created using Theresa Momber's newest set, "Warm with Love".  This set just FEELS relaxing to me!  And... since the Iris and I are friends (LOVE my purple/blue flowers!!), I HAD to hurry and color this awesome flower.  :-)

I started my card base with Pure Luxury Kraft and layered it with a bit of Wild Dandelion card stock.  I then layered on some of the wonderful new digi paper Emily Giovanni designed, Grand Damask.  My image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out using my Beaded Ovals Nestabilities.  I added a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Antique Linen, around the edges.  I used Pop Dots to pop up the image a bit.

I found some wrinkled ribbon in my stash and added a bow and a cute little dragonfly charm I also found with a bit of twine to the bow.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember our Gina K Designs New Release Hop will continue tomorrow!!  Be sure to add a comment to the DT blogs for a chance to win one of the free stamp sets Gina will be drawing for from all the NEW RELEASE SETS!!!  Have a great day!!!  *smile*

    A Bright Birthday

The Color Challenge was posted yesterday on Stamp TV along with all the great samples from last night's Gina K Designs Release Party!!!  I'm still reeling from how fast it all went, are you??  Fun comes and goes so quickly! :-)

Here are the colors that Gina gave us to work with this week....

I began my card with Pure Luxury white card stock.  I layered it up with the Grass Green and then added a layer of Wild Dandelion which I ran through my Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder.  My Sweet Mango was my next layer and I embossed it as well.

I stamped my image on white and cut it using my Nestabilities Labels 16.  I used my Copic markers to color the image in and popped it up using Pop Dots.  I found a little yellow/white striped ribbon in my stash and added it to the card as well.

Below are the Copic colors I used on my image.  Hope you play along and upload your creation to the Stamp TV gallery.  Be sure to add the tag number above to make sure you entered into the drawing for a FREE stamp set of your choice from Gina K Designs valued at up to $24.95!! Gina K March Preview Hop Day 1

So?  How much fun was last night's Gina K Designs release party over on Stamp TV???? I had fun... hope you did too!!  Are you ready to see what the Design Team did with each set??? Today we are hopping to show you more of the creations we made using the newest stamps sets.

To start off... my first card was created with the new "Free with Three" set, "Stenciled Silhouettes".  I really like this set in that not only can you layer it as I did above... but... it makes for some awesome single layer cards or even a "gift pack" of cards!!!

I started with Pure Luxury Kraft card stock and added some embossing to the end with a Cuttlebug embossing border.  I then rubbed some Tim Holtz Distress ink, Antique Linen, over it to bring it out a bit more.  Next I cut a piece of Cranberry Tart and layered it a bit wonky and added some twin around it.  The I used a piece of Soft Sand to stamp my image on in Vivid Ink, Garnet.  I hit the edges of the Soft Sand with more Distress Ink, Vintage Photo.

Up next... the "Celebrate in Style" stamp.  As Gina mentioned last night this stamp is in celebration of Stamp TV's 2nd year anniversary and you can get this image for FREE if you spend $35 at Gina K Designs. My card began with Pure Luxury Innocent Pink card stock.  I layered on  piece of white and found the DP in my stash.  My image was stamped again on white and colored in with my Copic markers.  I added a bit of Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tattered Rose just to the corners of my Nestabilitie Labels 8. My sentiment was stamped on my Nesties Label 10 and again I added the Tattered Rose to the tag before removing the Nestie.

Now hop on over to the other DT members and be sure to leave a comment.  Tomorrow, Gina will announce on her blog the randomly chosen winners who will each win one of these fabulous new stamp sets!!!

Thanks for stopping by and remember, our New Release hop will again resume on Monday morning.  I'm sure the DT has lots more in store for you AND.. don't forget those FREE stamp sets Gina will be drawing for at each hop.  Have a great day!!! *smile*
