A Great Sketch!

A new sketch from Gina K on Stamp TV is waiting for you to use!!  You surely can't pass up a chance to get your name in the drawing for a FREE stamp set valued at $24.95!!

Sadly, I won't be posting my card for this challenge as I have had quite a week with back issues, MRI procedure and yesterday.... spending the day with my daughter... and it's left me quite a bit of pain all day Sunday.  I am normally at my studio ALL weekend and didn't get a chance to lift one crafting item Saturday or Sunday.  I would do Saturday all over again with her, because I am sure it is a day she won't soon forget, but I have left myself in a slow moving state today.  Ha!

So... here's your sketch.

I WILL be posting my card, hopefully tomorrow, but you MUST give it a try.  It's an awesome sketch and I am sure you will be able to come up with a FABULOUS interpretation of it yourself!

Remember, you don't have to use Gina K Designs stamps but if you do, your name goes into the drawing TWICE!!! Can't beat that!!  Be sure to add the tag number in the sketch above to your project when you upload to Stamp TV.

Have fun and come back again to see my card in the next day or so.  Have a great day!! *smile*

Tea Cups & Tiaras... and MORE!

Today was a FULL, fun-filled, special day for Emily and I.  We spent the WHOLE day having fun, compliments of dear husband/daddy.  It was our Valentine gift from him.

We headed out at 10 AM and went shopping for a few things then to tea at Tea Cups & Tiaras... an adorable tea room in Historic Valley Junction.  What a treat it was for both of us!  Below are a few pics of the inside.  Emily was finding all kinds of cute little items all over.

Emily thought it was so fun to get the PINK sand timer they brought to the table so I would know when my tea was fully steeped.

Regardless of the "tea room" theme... nothing catches a little one more than MAC n CHEESE!!!! Oh ya... that's what she had to have! LOL
I had a FABULOUS soup... sweet potato and pear!  YUM!! My salad was a wild berry vinaigrette served with my chicken and broccoli casserole!

Our next stop was Nan's Nummies!!  Yep... a fabulous chocolate/candy store!! Em found a HUGE jaw breaker.  No... she didn't buy it, but one a bit smaller.  We got daddy a "thank you" gift of a couple truffles and even some fudge for brother.

Our next stop was MORE shopping!!!  Emily found the coolest diary!!  It has a tiny heart on the front and the whole thing lights up all over!! If I still used diaries, I'd have even love it! HA!  She also got a rhinestone cover for her iPod Touch.

Then ...  I KNOW... Emily's FAVORITE part of the day... we went to the Justin Bieber 3D Director's Cut Movie!!! WOW!!! I was even amazed!!!   3D has come a long long way since I was a kid! Ha!  (Notice the princess HAD to get OUT of that dress as soon as tea was over. Ha)

Lastly... we walked back thru the mall one last time... got her a few things at Barnes & Noble and then headed out to Target where we each grabbed new jammies... a box of fresh strawberries, chocolate AND a bottle of sparkling grape juice!

Arriving home... she ran off to change into her new pajamas and while I was changing into mine... SHE placed battery operated tea lights all over the family room and was thrilled to tell me... "Mom... relax and I'LL dip the strawberries.  :-)

Truly a super fun day.  Oh yes.. we arrived back home at 8:30 PM.  And now... I'm off to bed.  Hubby is heading off for an extra run tonight and packin the truffles we picked out especially for him.  A very memorable day, I am sure Emily will not soon forget.

Have a great day and tomorrow... a new sketch from Gina K to play along with over on Stamp TV

Live, Life, Loud....

Welcome Saturday!!! Today I am off on an adventure with my 9 year old daughter!!  Dad bought us a luncheon at "Teacups & Tiara's", a little tea room down in Valley Junction... a small quaint little area with antique shops, candy store, vintage collectible stores and awesome gift boutiques all up and down the street.  One of the "highlights" of the tea room will be when we arrive, we get to pick out a hat or tiara that we would like to dine in.  Hee Hee I LOVE going to the area but rarely take the time to do it.  So, this is our special day together... our Valentine's gift from daddy.  :-)  We plan to shop after for... well... I guess whatever our hearts desire... then head off to a movie.  A total "girls day" together!!!  MY little "gift" in this day will be to return home... fill the bath with awesome smelling bubble bath... throw some candles around the bathroom and treat HER to a relaxing bubble complete with some relaxing music and a little "sparkling grape juice" on the side.  :-)  I think she will truly LOVE her/our special day!

Which leads me to my card.  It was meant for the Gina K Designs release party last week, but... when I created it... I KNEW it would be my son's Valentine's Day card. He LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! A newcomer to the electric guitar (he just started playing at the beginning of the school year)... he was so excited to see Tami Mayberry's newest set, "Live Life Loud".

I began with Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight white card stock and stamped many of the images in the set in red, white, blue and black.  I cut an oval using Nestabilities out of the Red Hot card stock.  I then stamped the guitar on the Layering Weight card stock and cut it out adding Lacquer to it and setting it aside to dry.  My sentiment stamped at the bottom and ta da!!!, the perfect teen card!

I can tell you already, this set will be used a TON!!! It's so "hip" with my kids and I love the textured background stamps she has as well in the set.  A definite MUST HAVE if only for those!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  *smile*

It's Friday! It's Warm Out & I'm Thinking Spring!!!

OMGosh it has been sooo warm here this week!!! I am sooo thinking, hoping and praying it's Spring!!  It was, admittedly, a very easy winter, but still.  I can't stand the cold!!!

So I'm celebrating with the new colors Gina K gave us today over on Stamp TV to create a Spring time card!!  Here are the colors....

My card base is the Red Hot Pure Luxury card stock.  I added a piece of the Lemon Drop and layered it with the Creme de Menthe along with a piece of Basic Grey, Curio, DP.  LOVE that paper pack!!  I added a piece of yellow ribbon and layered a piece of the green gingham ribbon over the middle.

My image is from Theresa Momber's newest set, "Little Critters".  I used my Copics to color it and cut the image out using my Lacey Square Nestabilities.  I layered that on top of the Labels 16 Nestie which I cut from the Creme de Menthe and used some Pop Dots to add some dimension to the card.

If you play along, you could be the winner of a free stamp set of your choice valued at $24.95!!

So, let's not stop there!! Play along with the Color Challenge and you have yet another chance to win a FREE set!!  Lots of chances are out there and you don't want to miss a one!!  Remember to upload your creation to the Stamp TV Gallery and add the tag number above to your post.  Have fun and create, create, create!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Framed Greetings.....

Gina K Designs' newest "Free with Three" set is the awesome, "Framed Greetings".  This wonderful set can be used with so many different images and sentiments inside and... what's more... you can coordinate it to go with any card color just by coloring the images and/or stripes whatever color you need!!! I LOVE that!!!

My card today starts with Pure Luxury Sweet Corn and is layered with Innocent Pink and then a layer of DP from the Basic Grey Curio paper pack.  My image was colored with Copic markers and cut out perfectly using the Nestabilities Labels 16 die.  Gotta love an image that has a matching die!!

After I cut the Label, I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, "Antique Linen" around the edges to add a bit of vintage look.

I ended with a bit of lace and a flower on the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! *smile*

Spring Basket....

Today it was sooooooooo cold outside compared to the 60 and 70 degree temperatures last week.  I had done a few cards with Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Spring Basket" so it was hard to pick what to post for my previews and what to post on the Release Party night.  Sooo... I have more to share!! WooHoo!!  Melanie's set is now available at Gina K Designs along with all the other new February releases.

For this card my base is Pure Luxury Sweet Corn.  My image is stamped on White with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copic markers.  I LOVE how you can put the handles on this basket in an up position or down on the sides like I did here.  I added two Self-Adhesive Copper Nail Heads to the end of the baskets to make them appear nailed to the base (much like Longaberger baskets!).  I mounted my image on the Lacey Square Nestabilitie and then added a layer of Wild Dandelion card stock under that.

I used some wired ribbon on my card to allow me to "crinkle" it a bit much like wrinkled seam tape.  I LOVE that stuff and haven't gotten any ordered yet... but for now the wired ribbon works.  Tip:  I buy lots of wired ribbon because it allows me the option of using it with or without.  Very easy to pull the wire out once you've cut a piece off if you decide you don't need it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *smile*

Christ Is Risen....

Good morning everyone!! Today I am sharing a card I created for the Gina K Designs Release Party over on Stamp TV last Thursday.  Nina Brackett's newest set, "Christ is Risen" is just beautifully done.  I love how it is so versatile and if you were at the party, you too saw the many ways this set can be arranged from a great teen design to a vintage look.  Love it!!!

My card began with Pure Luxury Kraft card stock and I layered it with some Chocolate Brown.  My DP is from the Basic Grey Curio collection.  Oh I LOVE that pack of paper!!!  I stamped my image on white and stamped my cross with Vivid Chocolate ink.  I sponged some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Antique Linen all around the image.  I then distressed the edges and again added some Tim Holtz Distress in Vintage photo around the very edges of the image.  I turn the corners over, rolling them a bit inward.

My sentiment was also stamped in the Chocolate ink and sponged with the Antique Linen as well.

I can't wait to use this set this Easter.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *smile*

Happy Monday Challenge!!!

It's Monday and though normally I don't find it a pleasant early morning rise... today wasn't quite so bad.  Why you ask?  Well.... NO kids to wake up and get ready.. YAYYYYY!!!  I know, sad huh?  But that seems to be the worse day of the week.  That FIRST day after a weekend that they have to get up and get going.  I can honestly tell you, it takes... SIX "Time to get up." comments to get them OUT of the bed and dressing.  What's a mom to do? LOL  But today... President's Day and no school!!!  WooHoo!

And then we have another chance for YOU to enter the new Sketch Challenge of the week!!  YAYYY!!

Here is the newest Sketch Gina has put up for you to play along!

My card uses Tami Mayberry's newest set, "Live, Life, Loud" available not at Gina K Designs.  My card base is Pure Luxury Black Onyx.  I stamped my images on White and cut out the guitars before using Crystal Lacquer on them.  For the black image I used Memento Ink... but for the red, I used Vivid Brick Red which tends to blur when you add the lacquer and by doing this, it reminded me of a guitar reverberating. LOL  Dontcha think???   My son did... and he's my guitar boy. :-)

In my sentiment I used Memento Ladybug red which won't blur when using the lacquer though I didn't lacquer the scale image.

I hope you play along!!  This is one of my favorite sketches and I've used it many times.  Remember to load your creation to the Stamp TV Gallery and add the tag above.  Don't forget if you use Gina K Designs stamps your name goes into the pot TWICE, but it is not required to do so; and YOU could win a stamp set of your choice valued at $24.95!  Good luck and enjoy the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!!  *smile*

Speedy Recovery...

Today I'm sharing a card I posted at the Gina K Designs Release Party over on Stamp TV Thursday evening.  What a fun party it was!!

My image is from Theresa Momber's newest set, "Little Critters".  OMGosh I love all those little cuties in the set AND.. the flowers and leaf are awesome too!!

I used Pure Luxury Creme de Menthe for my card base and added a layer of Chocolate Brown.  My DP is from the Basic Grey Curio set.  I stamped my image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the lower half in with my Copic markers.  My turtle's shell was stamped on Grass Green and then I used my Tiny Mosaic Cuttlebug folder to emboss it.  I then used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pine Needles to rub over my embossing.

My image was cut out using my Labels 14 Nestabilities and my sentiment was stamped on the Double End Tags.  I added some ribbon and glittered brads to the tag. Again I used my Antique Linen Distress inks to create a little color around both the tag and label.

I hope you are having a fabulous Saturday and thanks so much for stopping by! *smile*

Bite a Bunny!!

Today I am sharing another card I made with Asela Hopkins newest set, "Chocolate Bunnies".  I made this a very small card which I planned to slip into my son's Easter gift... Hee Hee.  He will LOVE it!! He has a very good sense of humor and he especially likes when MOM does the unexpected.  :-)

My card base is Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion and I layered it with a piece of Lovely Lavender.  I used a glittered DP which I found in my stash.  I stamped my bunny with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used my Copics to color it in.  As I walked through my local store this week I noticed the chocolate bunnies they had and remembered how bright blue their eyes were and how pink the noses are, made from hard candy, and I couldn't resist coloring mine the same.  And not only that... the chocolate just shined!! So... out came the Crystal Lacquer.  I cut him out after it was dry and mounted him with a few Pop Dots.  I used a lace border bunch on two sides of a piece of my white card stock and threw on a few metallic blings to finish off the front.

Now... the inside....

Ha!! I LOVE it!!!  My son will get a kick out of this!  My bunny is stamped on Kraft paper and I used my Marvy Uchida Mega scalloped punch  to "take a bite" out of him.  :-)

I will be back sharing even more cards I created with all the fabulous new February sets that haven't been posted on my blog.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Framed Greetings...

I LOVE the flowers and butterfly added to this awesome label.  It coordinates with the Nestabilities Label 16 set. I stamped my image and used the Nesties to cut it out.

My card base is Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Sweet Corn.  I layered it with Innocent Pink and a piece of DB from the Basic Grey Curio collection.  My image was colored with Copic markers and I added a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen sponged around the edges.  I used Pop Dots to raise it up for a bit of dimension.  I used a piece of lace along the bottom and added an ivory flower.

This frame can be used with so many other items and sentiments inside it other than the ones it comes with; I know you will enjoy having it in your collection.

Gina K February Preview Day 3!!!

It's Day 3 and the fabulous sets from Gina K Designs just keep coming!!!  You're ready for more, right??? Of course you are!!!  Let's get started!!!  Up first is Tami Mayberry's set...

Live, Life, Loud...

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to see this set!!! Both my kids are into playing several instruments so I was thrilled to be able to show these to them AND create some special cards for them!!

My card base is as "loud" as I could find.  Hee Hee  I used Gina's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Passionate Pink!  I layered it with Black Onyx and some Wild Dandelion and then another layer of Black Onyx.  I used the brightest pastels I could find and streaked it across my black card stock.  Then using my Versamark, I stamped my images.  You can find how to do the Pullin Pastels technique HERE on Stamp TV.  I added a BIG, LOUD flower to the top to finish off my card.  My daughter was soooo excited to receive this... she's the drummer in the family.  :-)

You will be seeing many more from this set on my site for sure!!

Let's keep going!!  Now Nina Brackett's newest set...

Christ Is Risen...

I again decided to go bright with my card!!  Since Valentine day was so near, I decided I could use Nina's set to make a "different" Valentine card.  I again used my Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight in white.  I stamped my image in Vivid Ink in Purple.  My "Love" was stamped using Vivid, Brick Red.  I used my Nestabilities Label 1 to cut out my image.  I then mounted it on a layer of Red Hot Pure Luxury and a layer of Vibrant Violet.  A swirl or two of bling and another big bright flower finish off my card.

I hope you are coming to the Release Party on Thursday, Feb. 17, on Stamp TV, so I can share with you my "vintage" design I used Nina's set on.  I think this will be a very versatile set and will be a great addition to your stamp collection.

Now on to the rest of the Design Team.  You won't want to miss a link!

Remember to leave a comment and Gina will draw for winners of these two sets!!  Tomorrow... more peeks and another chance to win FREE stamps!!!  Thanks for stopping by and for joining in all the hops this week!!

Have a great day!! *smile*

Gina K February Preview Day 2!!!

Soooo.... are you ready for more???  Are you just loving all the Gina K Designs February previews?? Well, let's not waist anymore time and keep on with the show!!!!  First up... Theresa Momber's  newest....

Little Critters....

I ABSOLUTELY could NOT resist putting a "hug" sentiment with this adorable hedgehog!! Hee Hee  I started my card with Gina's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Kraft paper and stamped my image in Memento Rich Cocoa.  I initially thought I'd leave it and make a monochromatic card but then the Copics took over my brain!! LOL  My adorable hedgehog was also stamped in the Memento Rich Cocoa and I cut it out using my Nestabilities Label 14.  I sponged on some Tim Holtz Distress ink, Antique Linen around the edges, added a ribbon across the bottom and some copper self-adhesive nail heads

Next up... Asela Hopkins...

Chocolate Bunnies...

Ok so for those of us watching our weight and working out... YUM!!!!  If you can't eat the chocolate bunnies... might as well stamp a few!!!  Hee

These bunnies are totally what Easter was all about for me as a kid!!!  OMGosh to get a SOLID chocolate bunny was the best!!!! :-)

My card base is Pure Luxury Innocent Pink.  I layered on some Chocolate Brown card stock and a piece of DP from the Basic Grey Hopscotch paper pack.  My scalloped border is from the Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Border Petites.  Instead of leaving the "holes" in this border I filled them each in with a rhinestone.  I then added texture by running it through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

My bunny was stamped using the Pullin Pastels technique that you can find over on Stamp TV Video site.  I LOVE that my brown chalk looks like cocoa!

Ready for more??? Follow the links below to see all the wonderful creations created by the Design Team.
Remember that Gina will be giving away both of these sets for FREE!!! so be sure and leave a comment!!  Two more days until Release Party night over on Stamp TV!!!!  Wait until you see the other sets previewing this week!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Tuesday!!  *smile*

Gina K Designs February Preview!!!

Are you ready???? Are you really??? I've heard lots of whispers from those Gina K Designs fans wondering where the February Releases are. Well... today's your day!!! THEY'RE HERRRREEEEE!!! Woot Woot!!

Today we start the February previews with Melanie Muenchinger's newest set...

Spring Basket....

OMGosh...  I got going with this adorable basket and I am telling you... I couldn't stop filling it!!!  My first card I couldn't help but debut it in purple!!!  I used Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet for my card base.  I layered a piece of Wild Dandelion and more violet.  My image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers.  I stamped the tulips and daffodils separately and pieced them together arranging them so they appeared to be freshly picked from my garden.  :-)  I mounted my basket of flowers to my Nestabilities Beaded Oval and used Tim Holtz Milled Lavender Distress Ink to bring out the "beads" a bit more.  I added a sheer flower print bow to my basket and rumbled the ends to make it appear to be flowing on my basket.

For my next card, I used Melanie's coordinating set....

Basket Blessings....

How cute are these animals??!!!  I am guessing by now you have seen many paper pieced stuffed animals and I admit, I HAD to use various yummy DP's to stamp these adorable images on.  As luck would have it... I needed just a card like this yesterday for my niece's baby shower!

I began stamping my images onto the DP's and cut them out and paper pieced them back together.  Though it's hard to see in my photo, I stamped the basket and colored just along the sides a small amount of grey Copic marker to give it just a hint of a shadow because I wanted my basket to remain white.  My basket "liner" was also stamped on DP before added.  I used my Lacey Circle Nestabilitie to make my card base and shape.  My card base is Pure Luxury White and I layered with some Innocent Pink which I ran through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dot folder.  Everything was popped up on the card base using Pop Dots.

The inside of my card shows a flower image also from the Spring Basket set which I colored with Copics and added a small self-adhesive pearl to the center.

Now follow the links to see more fabulous previews from the Design Team.
Remember to stop over to Stamp TV on Thursday, February 17th at 7:00 PM CST to join in on the Release Party!!!  There will be more creations shared by the Design Team AND... challenges that you can join in for a chance to WIN a FREE set from Gina K Designs!!

Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win one of THESE fabulous sets!!!

Have fun hopping and be sure to come back tomorrow to see another two fabulous sets!!  Have a great day!! *smile*

Have a Ducky Trip!

I have been eyeing this duck for some time now. I just love him and I KNOW Spring is not far away so I cannot wait any longer to throw him into action again!! Hee Hee

My card base is Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Ocean Mist and I layered it with a piece of Kraft.  My old world map was a piece I found in my stash and I layered a torn piece of Springtime In Paris, Digital Paper across it all.

My image is from Rupa Shevde's, "Spring has Sprung".  I colored it with my Copic markers and cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots.  I added a few self-adhesive copper nail heads to the corners.

I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday.  I have both kids being judged at their piano festivals today so I'll be starting a bit late at My Studio but I don't mind.  ;-)

Thanks for stopping by.  *smile*

Sorry, I don't know the name of it off the top of my head.

My image is from Rupa Shevde's, "Guiding Light" set.  I lightly colored it with my Copic markers and cut it out using my Deckled Rectangle and Big Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities
