Mix It Up Monday with Color!

mixitupmonday

Happy Monday everyone!!  Today I am hosting the “Mix It Up Monday Challenge” over on Stamp TV.  I hope you’ll play along!!  Today I am challenging you with colors!!    Your colors are:

PINK IVORYGREY

Here is my sample….

MonChall2

For my card I used Pure Luxury Bubblegum Pink as my base.  I layered on some Ivory and then a layer of Moonlit Fog.  I found some DP in my stash that worked perfectly.  I added corner images from the Elegant Essentials set stamped in Memento London Fog on Ivory.  I sponged some Angel Pink around the edges before mounting them with Pop Dots.  I used the Bubblegum Pink again and my Beaded Oval Nestabilitie to frame my image from the Stamp TV Kit, Vintage Chic.  I stamped the image again in London Fog and the Labels 14 Nestie to cut it out… again adding Angel Pink around the edges before removing the die.  I added self-adhesive pearls to the Beaded oval to finish off my card.  My sentiment is from Melanie Muenchinger’s set, “Border Bling”.  Smile

Please create and upload a new project for this challenge that can only be entered into this challenge here on StampTV to be eligible for a prize, no combining of Stamp TV challenges.  However, you can combine it with challenges outside of StampTV.  And remember you don't have to use Gina K. Designs stamps, but if you do your name will go into the drawing twice!  The random winner gets a stamp set of choice up to $24.95.

Be sure and  have your creation uploaded to our gallery here on StampTV by Sunday 8:PM CST July 3rd, with the tag STVMONTG2 in the tag line area.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!  *smile*

A Watery Day….

OctoHug

By the time you see this post, my family and I will be getting as wet as one can be!! Yayyyy… we are on our mini-vacation trip and having loads of fun at the water park!!!  We heard there might be a chance of rain today and in the end we figured… as long as there isn’t lighting… who cares!!!  We will be wet either way!!!  My kids LOVE water parks and though I’m not a huge fan of wearing a swim suit… I do have one I can wear and not feel like I’m FLABbergasting everyone!! Hee Hee  And… I’ve lost 30 pounds since I lost wore it so, I’m thinking maybe… just maybeee… I’ll feel better in it this year than I did last year.  Smile

Today I figured since it’s going to be an “all about water” day, I’d share a card I made quite awhile back that I hadn’t yet posted anywhere.  One… I wasn’t real sure I liked it (jury is still out on that) and two… I’ve been super busy featuring the latest sets from Gina K Designs.  THIS too is a Gina K Designs set from Asela Hopkins called “Make a Splash”… which we WILL be doing today as well.  Winking smile

My card begins with Pure Luxury Turquoise Sea.  I layered on some white and a layer of DP I found in my stash.  I used another piece of the Turquoise Sea and cut it out using my Labels 9 Nestabilities and adding some Tim Holtz Distress ink, Shabby Shutters to blend around the edges.  I stamped my image on White and used my Scalloped Rectangle Nesties to cut it out.  I again added some of the Shabby Shutters ink to the bottom portion and then threw in a few drops of Diamond Stickles to appear as water bubbles.  I colored my image with my Copic markers.  At the bottom I added my ribbon, a bit of twine and a little fish charm I found amongst my embellies in a drawer.

I hope you are having a great day and if you’re getting wet, I hope you too don’t mind it.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by tomorrow as I’ll be hosting the Mix It Up Monday Challenge over on Stamp TV.  It’s going to be an easy one and you won’t want to miss out on a chance to win some FREE stamps from Gina K Designs!!!  *smile*

Just Frame It!!

FrameIt

I don’t know… I really don’t.  I just LOVE this frame!!! Now, I’m not sure if it looks right here or not… I just know I HAD to put it there!  I HAD to!  Tami Mayberry’s “Dreams” set just begs me to use it… even if I’m not sure if it looks right! LOL  I LOVE it!!!

My card began with Pure Luxury Bubble Gum card stock and I layered on some Chocolate Brown.  My DP is from Pink Paislee’s Butterfly Garden.  My image was stamped in Versamark and I used some Heat & Stick powder to add my glitter.  Thing is… I don’t think I really know how to use it!!!  I actually heated it about 3 times and added more glitter each time. But… if you look close, you can see smatterings of glitter inside the image that I couldn’t get off.  I don’t think they are stuck.. I just think it’s like a static thing… though I did use my embossing powder before stamping.  Anyway… if any of you have any tips for me on how to use the Heat & Stick properly…. I’d really appreciate it!!!  I used my Nestabilities Labels 14 to cut out the image and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen around the before mounting it with Pop Dots.  I stamped Tami’s frame using the Distress Ink again in Vintage Photo and added the Antique Linen again.  I stamped my sentiment in Vivid Tea Rose and added a ribbon and bow across the card.

So… leave me a tip on using the Heat & Stick and maybe… just maybe… I’ll try it again.  Smile

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!  *smile*

CASE the DT Featuring AJ Otto

AJCase

Today Stamp TV is offering up a new challenge.  It’s YOUR turn to case the Gina K Designs Design Team!!!  Each month we will be CASEing one member of the Design Team.  You can pick any card from the Design Team member we are casing that month and play as many time as you want during the week.  Up first is AJ Otto!  HERE a link to AJ’s gallery.  Please upload your creation to the STV Gallery and add STVFRICT3 to the tags to be entered into the drawing for a free stamp set from Gina K Designs of your choice valued at $24.95.

Here is AJ’s card that I CASEd this week…..

AJs

Basically…. I turned AJ’s fabulous black and white card with red accents into a colorful card with black accents!  Smile

My card started with Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White card stock.  I added a piece of DP from the Echo Park A Walk in the Park paper pack to the bottom.  Like AJ, I used the flowers from the Stamp TV Kit, Vintage Chic.  I used my Memento markers to color the flowers in prior to stamping them.  Instead of using the brads, I used self-adhesive rhinestones which I colored with my Copic markers.  I used self-adhesive pearls to the center of my flowers coloring them in black with my Copics.  I also chose a different sentiment from the set from what AJ used.

I hope you play along and pick one of AJ’s gorgeous cards to CASE this week!  We will be picking another DT member to case next month.  Be sure to watch the Friday challenge spot as the DT challenge will appear on one Friday of the month.

Remember to upload your card to the STV Gallery and add the STVFRICT3 tag.

Have fun and thanks for stopping by!!!  *smile*

Diva Bling…

Diva

OMGosh it’s Thursday!!! Already!!! I’m excited for THREE reasons today.  First… my cousins from Oregon (whom I haven’t seen in over 25 years!!!) are arriving in town today!  It will be soooooooo good to see them.  We are having a family reunion and though we’ve got in touch again this last year by way of Facebook, it will be so good to face TIME together and relive old memories.  I think I was a teenager the last time I saw them.  Ya ya… that means more than 25 years ago, but let’s not go there! LOL

Secondly, I am taking The Brave Girls Club Soul Restoration Class 2 and I accomplished ONE (first step) in my first goal for a better life!  I got up at 6:00 AM to head to the gym!!!!!!!!!! Yay me!!! I did it.. and though I had a million excuses running through my head… even why I should finished EARLY AT the gym, I kept going and I DID IT!!!!!  I just have to keep it up and DO it!!  I’m so proud of myself because I am so NOT an early riser and I could not for the life of me understand why anyone would want to get up early and go to the gym!!!!  But I did and I will again!!!

Third… Friday is tomorrow!!!!  We officially start our vacation tomorrow after I get off work and I’m so excited!! Not exactly what “I” wanted to do, but I’m a mom and my kids’ happiness comes first… so…. off to Oceans of Fun and Worlds of Fun we go!!!  My kids are easy to please with vacations and  I am thankful since the economy is so yucky now.  They could easily stay in a hotel across town and be thrilled! LOL  I think it’s the whole “you can jump on THESE beds” thing. LOL  LOL  Though Steven is a bit big for that now.  Sad smile

So… how about we look at a card?  Hee Hee  I dug up an old stamp set from Melanie Muenchinger called, “Little Tees” and decided to make my own “bling” using her newest “Border Bling” set!  Smile  My card starts with Pure Luxury Passionate Pink and I layered on some white after running it through my Vagabond using the Cuttlebug embossing folder, Seeing Spots.  I added a piece of DP from the Echo Park, A Walk in the Park pack and then a couple dotted ribbons.  I stamped my image on Bubblegum Pink and added Viva Décor’s Stainless Pearl Drops to create my own shirt bling.  Smile  I used the Nestabilities Labels 16 to cut out and emboss my image and added some Vivid Raspberry ink around the edges before removing it from the card stock.  My “Diva” sign was accented with some self-adhesive pearls which I colored with my Copic markers.

I am off to Michaels because well… it’s MICHAELS and they have craft stuff there!!!  Then I’m heading to Arc hivers to check out the new Smash books.  Like I NEED another junque journal! LOL  But hey… a girl’s gotta do what a girl loves!! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *smile*

Framed Ride….

Ride

Happy mid-week!!  I have been loving the last couple days… it’s been raining… storming and lightening and I LOVE IT!!! I swear I must have lived another life in Seattle! LOL  I would definitely NOT make a good farmer though I live in Iowa. HA HA!!  For that matter, I am not a favorite person of my father’s when I go to work for him (a roofer) and say… “YAYYYY It’s raining again!” LOL  LOL  I just love the “freshness” of the rain and I KNOW I’m in a minority in my home and work, but… that’s cool.  It’s just who I am!!!  Ok… enough about our weather… how about a “fresh” card?

I am truly enjoying the frame in Tami Mayberry’s last set, “Dreams”.  Seems like everything I put up lately, I’m trying to figure out a way I can “frame” it!  Today is no different!

My card begins with Pure Luxury Kraft card stock and I added on some In the Navy and a layer of DP from Pink Paislee’s Butterfly Garden.  I stamped the bike image from the Stamp TV Kit, “Vintage Chic” using Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Vintage Photo, on White card stock.  I distressed the edges and added more Tim Holtz ink, Antique Linen.  I stamped the frame in more Distress Ink, Stormy Skies, and cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots.  I added a bit of lace to the bottom and adhesive copper nail heads to the corners.

Reader beware… you never know how often this frame will show up again! I love it that much! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! *smile*

Dream Hoops…

DreamHoops

I’m really getting into the “Elegant Elements” stamp set from Gina K.  If you like this set, remember, you can get it for FREE for NINE more days… until the new release comes out… with the “Free with Three” option at Gina K Designs.

My card today features two of the elements from the set and I used my sentiment and words from Tami Mayberry’s set, “Dreams”.

I started out using Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion and layered it up with some Black Onyx then a layer of Pure Luxury Accents Key Lime which I ran through my Vagabond using the Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spots and Dots.  My images were stamped on White using the Memento Cantaloupe and Vivid Wild Lime.  I used some of the small ribbon from the Stamp TV Kit to attach to my hoops.

This card with it’s bright colors just makes me happy!!

I hope you have a nice day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Classy & Fab!!!

ClassyandFab

Once again I’m playing with Melanie Muenchinger’s, “Border Bling”.  I can’t help but try perfecting those Liquid Pearls and finding a new way to use the awesome sentiments she added to this fabulous set.

My card today started with Pure Luxury Metallic card stock, Silver Lining, cut with Lacey Circle Nestabilities.  I added a layer of the DP from the Stamp TV Kit, Vintage Chic”.  I stamped the Border Bling in Memento, London Fog and the sentiment in Tuxedo Black.  On the border I used Viva Décor Silver Pearl Pen but only on a few select dots.  I added some of the thin ribbon in the Stamp TV kit and mounted the Border Bling with Pop Dots.  I added a small Tim Holtz Rosette to the top.

I hope you are having a great Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by!! *smile*

Happy Father’s Day AND… Happy Anniversary!!!

DadDayClose

Today I’d like to send a shout out to all the dad’s out there… Happy Father’s Day!!!!  I find it harder and harder to get a gift for my dad every year and yet, when I DO give him something, I find it harder yet to know if he REALLY likes it.  LOL  But…. somehow…. he ends up giving me a HUGE clue.  When he thinks I’m not looking… he is showing it to others. LOL  You think it’s a “guy-thing” to not show if they like a gift or not? Ha!!

My gift was something totally unique and different for me.  As I mentioned in past posts… I am really getting into the multi-media art lately.  My gift was just that… another multi-media art piece.

And… what I like the most about it… It is actually made on a wood shake shingle!  How’s that… my dad is a roofer!!!  We don’t put those type of roofs on… but… it’s the connection that matters.  Smile  Before I show you my finished project… let me show you the pieces I began with and how they started out.  I started adding the green paint before I realized I hadn’t photographed it… but you get the idea what WAS under it.

shinglebefore

Next… I found this photo at our Lake Association garage sale.

deerphoto

And now… my finished piece.  Using Nina Brackett’s, “Lovely Labels 3”, I stamped the image using Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Vintage Photo and Memento Cottage Green.  I added a few copper nail heads and  cut it out then mounted it on top of the shingle.  Here’s a pic of the whole shingle.

DadDay

I added a few Tim Holtz sprockets and a clock with a bit of his Tissue Tape.  And yes… he REALLY DID like it!!!

Not only is today Father’s Day… and my DH will be treated like a King today by the kids AND me… because today is also our 7th Anniversary!  Lucky seven!!!  Winking smile    I think that’s the way to rake in the “special treatments”. LOL  Though we’ve only been married for seven years, we’ve been together for 13.  I just realized that though seven is the lucky number… thirteen is bad luck!! Ha!!!  Ok… so… I’m sticking with the seven and next year we’ll count the “together” years.  Smile

Hope you and yours are having a great day!!  Thanks for stopping by!!! *smile*

Thumping Birthday…

BirthdayThump

Would you like to know the secret behind the last two months Stamp TV Kits??? ME TOO!!! Ohhhh I thought last month’s kit was the best EVER… and then… that smart Gina K comes along with THIS month’s kit, “Vintage Chic” and I just swoooonnnnedddd!!!!

Today’s card not only uses that awesome STV Kit, but I used a fabulous technique that Gina also showed us called “Thumping”.  You can find the video on it HERE

My card starts with Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender and layered it with some In The navy.  I added a layer of Wild Lilac and stamped my image on White using my Memento markers and “thumping”.  I used one of the corner stamps from the “Essential Elements” set and stamped it in Vivid, “Inky Blue” then added some Memento Lilac Posies to the edges before adding it to my corner.  I added a layer of the In the Navy under my image and mounted it with Pop Dots.

I really like how the image turned out and of course, MY favorite colors didn’t hurt anything either! Hee Hee

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!! *smile*

Members of Gina K.'s Design Team have come together to host a hop with cards and projects featuring a masculine theme.

If you came from Theresa Momber’s blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV  where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop.

GKDTManlyHop

My card today uses three stamps from the June Gina K Designs release.  I started off with Pure Luxury Tan Leather card stock.  I added a layer of Chocolate Brown and a piece of DP from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper pack.    I stamped my frame image from Tami Mayberry’s, “Dreams”, on a piece of Ivory card stock using Memento Rich Cocoa and cut it out using my Square Nestibilities.  Inside the frame I stamped the feather from the latest Stamp TV Kit, “Vintage Chic” using my Memento Markers in Desert Tan and Potters Clay.  I ran my ribbon horizontally across my layers before adding the frame using Pop Dots.  My sentiment “Happy Father’s Day” is from Theresa Momber’s set, “By The Sea”.

Your next stop is at Vicki Dutcher’s blog.  I know you are going to LOVE Vicki’s project, she never disappoints!  Smile

Thanks for joining us today in  the hop!!

Wear Your White….

mixitupmonday

Today I wanted to share my example for the Mix It Up Monday Challenge that Cathy Tidwell created for us.  Cathy’s challenge was to ‘Wear Your White”!!  Not to create a card in all white, but to use accessories in white!

Here is the card I created “wearing white”.  Smile

WearYourWhite

First, let me apologize for the photo quality.  I have been fighting a stomach virus (I think) for the last week.  It doesn’t leave me with much energy because everything I eat seems to find it’s way back out and to be honest, yesterday was the first time I’d been to my studio in the last week.  Sad smile  Anyway… I left my camera at home AND my computer so once I did get home, I had to make do with what I had to shoot a picture.  Trust me… going back into the car was NOT an option after spending 5 hours there.  I pretty much vegged the rest of the night.

Now… onto my card.  I began with Pure Luxury Turquoise Sea.  I added a piece of White card stock that I punched along the side.  I layered it with some Bubblegum Pink and stamped one of Theresa Momber’s “Vogue Vases” in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I stamped it again onto my DP and paper pieced it.  Next I stamped the willows in Versamark and heat embossed them in White.  I added my sentiment in Vivid Aqua.  Last I added the required WHITE self-adhesive pearls along the left border and to the punched edge of the white card stock.

I think I fulfilled Cat’s requirement and I hope you take some time to play along.   Remember, you don’t have to use Gina K Design stamps but if you do, your name will go into the drawing for a stamp set of your choice valued up to $24.95!!!  Have fun and don’t forget to add the tag STVMONCT2 to your upload in the Stamp TV Gallery.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *smile*

Purple Bling…

Melanie5May

Today I’d like to share yet another card I made with Melanie Muenchinger’s newest set, “Bring the Bling”.  I also want to apologize for not having a post up yesterday.  I’ve gotten some kind of bug (I think) that has really been bringing me down the last week.  Seems I can’t eat much of a meal and hope that it stays inside me.  Ugh!  Yesterday we even drove out of town for dinner to a restaurant we all love to go to and immediately when I got home… sick again.  Sad smile  Though I feel a bit better today, I am careful not to eat much of anything at any one time.  So.. apologies for being absent for a day.  Now… on to my card.  Smile

I had been playing with my Liquid Pearls quite a bit lately but today I decided to use Melanie’s set in all it’s nakedness.  Hee

I started with Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet card stock.  I added a layer of White and then some Lovely Lavender.  My DP was from my stash.  I added some wrinkled ribbon around the layers and stamped my image on White.  Using my Labels 14 Nestabilities I cut out my sentiment and border.  I used Memento Lulu Lavender ink to sponge around the edges before removing the die.  I added one simple self-adhesive pearl to the bow.  I also rounded my upper left and lower right corner as I layered on my papers.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  *smile*

Vintage Dreams….

Tami5May

Tami Mayberry’s newest stamp set for Gina K Designs, “Dreams”, just makes me happy!  I love this frame so so much!  Somehow, I don’t feel I do I justice, soooo… lucky you… I’m going to keep playing with it until I get it right!!! HA!!!!  Winking smile

I started my card base with Pure Luxury Ivory card stock.  I layered on some Kraft and then some of the Sweet Mango card stock.  My layer of DP is from Pink Paisliee Butterfly Garden.   LOVE how this paper works so beautifully with Tami’s set.  I stamped my image using Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Spiced Marmalade on Ivory.  I colored in the frame with a Copic marker.  I layered it on top of more Kraft which I ran through my Vagabond using the Deckled Rectangled Nestabilities.  I added some wrinkled ribbon and a button to the bow.

I have another card I did with Tami’s set and it reminds me a lot of THIS card so I’ll be playing with this set for some time to get it like I think it deserves to be shown.  Like I said… I LOVE this set so much!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! *smile*

Crackled Vase…

Theresa2May11

Good morning everyone!!  It’s Saturday and I’m out of town with my hubby and kids.  The kids have been wanting to go back to the Omaha Zoo for a long time and it just hit me that Emily was in a stroller and diapers the last time we went… so… off we go again! LOL  Today I am making a card with Theresa Momber’s fabulous set, “Vogue Vases”.

I created my card using Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender layered with Wild Lilac and a piece of Vibrant Violet that I ran though my Vagabond using my D’Vine Swirl Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I stamped my image on White using Memento Tuxedo Black and paper pieced the vase with some awesome DP I found that makes my vase look like it is textured and has a “crackle” affect to it.  the flowers I colored with Copic markers after I stamped them using not an ink pad but my Memento marker so that I could get the purple flower buds.  I cut out my image using my Labels 9 Nestabilitie.  I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Antique Linen, around the edges.  I took some self-adhesive pearls and colored them with my Copics to match my flowers before applying them to the Nestie cut out.

I stamped my image on more Lovely Lavender and layered it with more Wild Lilac then made myself a little tag and added some twine.

I hope you are having a great Saturday and that you have sunny skies! (We’ve sure had our share of rain lately!!)  Thanks for stopping by!  *smile*
