Gina K Designs Preview Day 2

Hi everyone!! Wasn't last night's previews amazing??  I can't wait to see what everyone did with tonight's sets!  Once again... here we go!!!!

Announcing.... "Nesting" by Asela Hopkins

If you loved Asela's last set, "Winter Wings"... I KNOW you will adore this set as well.  I admit, I am so not the "nature" type person and when I first saw this set I had my doubts on how well I could present it.  But, as I started working with it, I found I was grabbing it more than I ever thought I would!!

My first card uses Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Weight Kraft card stock.  I embossed it the front with my Cuttlebug Distress Stripes folder.  I lightly ran over the embossing with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye to bring it out just a bit more.  I colored the images with my Copic markers and used my Nestabilites, Deckled Rectangles to mount them.  The feather was stamped separately and then I cut it out and placed it on the rectangle.  I simply LOVE the buttons I used on the corner that came from the Chocolate Mix Button Jars.  This color set is perfect for those nature, manly cards.

Announcing... "The Giving Tree" by Theresa Momber

I was so excited to see this set if nothing more than the fact that it is one of my kids' favorite books!!!  I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!  For my card today I initially was going for a single layer card but decided to add the "grass" to it and then I raised my sentiment up with a bit of orange card stock under it.  I stamped my squirrel, birdhouse and bird on Gina K's Pure Luxury Layering Weight card stock and cut them out before adhering them to the tree.  I used my Copics to add a bit more texture to my bird and my Multi-Liner pen to throw on a dot for the bird's eye.  ;-)

My grass was simply cut free-handed with my scissors and adhered to the base.

Check out the rest of the design team previewing these wonderful sets tonight!
I hope you are planning to come to the Release Party over on Stamp TV on Thursday at 7:00 PM CST!  There will be tons of fabulous examples from the Gina K Design Team and I know you won't want to miss out on all the fun chatter and challenges!!

Have a great evening! *smile*

Gina K Designs Preview Day 1

Are you ready for some NEW Gina K Designs stamps??  Well, tonight's the night!!  Welcome to Day 1 previews!!  Gina K and the design team are previewing two fabulous sets tonight.  So, let's get started!!!

Announcing.... "Block Greetings" by Tami Mayberry

I LOVED working with Tami's new set.  It's so nice to have square greeting boxes and be able to use my square Nestabilities for a change!!!  I stamped onto Gina's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight white card stock and mounted it onto a layer of black card stock which I embossed using my Cuttlebug Script embossing folder.  I used my Colorbox Chiffon White ink pad and lightly brushed over the script.

I added a few self-adhesive pearls and some coordinating flowers to finish off my card.

Ready for more???

Announcing... "Mugs and Kisses" by Melanie Muenchinger

There are so many choices in Melanie's newest set that I couldn't decide where to begin! :-)

I began by stamping on my Pure Luxury Layering Weight card stock knowing that I wanted to do some paper piecing with the cup.  I used a piece of my Basic Grey Cappella DP to stamp the cup again.  Then I trimmed just  around the rim of the cup, the bottom and the handle.  I used my Copic markers to shade the saucer just a bit where the cup sits.  The base of my card is Gina's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Kraft and again I used a Cuttlebug folder on it, specifically, the Textile folder.  I LOVE this folder for elegant looks.  I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Gold Lined Ribbon in pink to coordinate with my flower.  I love using self-adhesive clear rhinestones and adding color to them with my Copic markers to coordinate with my cards and that is what I used on my "Mom" oval.

I stamped my sugar cube using Memento Summer Sky ink and added some diamond Stickles to it to make it shimmer like sugar. :-)

Now head on over to the rest of the design team to see their fabulous creations using both Tami's and Melanie's newest set!!
Thanks for stopping by!  Come back tomorrow night for more new stamp sets!!

Have a great evening!!  *smile*

Moonlight Trees

Hi friends!!  Tonight I wanted to share a card with you that I had done quite a while back but hadn't had the opportunity to post yet.  I used Gina K's Stamp TV Kit, "Winter Wonderland" for my snowflake images and the trees.

My card base is Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Turquoise Sea.  I heat embossed my images in Ranger Superfine Silver embossing powder.  I used my Nestabilities Labels 10 to stamp my trees on and heat embossed them in a teal embossing powder that I happen to find on a "craft shopping trip". Ha!

Do you know what tomorrow night is????  Gina K Designs Preview Night #1!!!  YAYYY!!  Stop by tomorrow to see the first of the new stamp sets releasing Thursday evening at Gina K Designs!!

Have a good evening!  *smile*

CSS Inspiration Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!!  Are you all ready for another Center Stage Spotlight hop??  Well... WE are!!!  Today we are doing an "Inspiration" hop.  If you came here from Tera Fujan's blog, you're on the right track.  If you want to start at the beginning... head over to Carolina Buchting's blog

Here is the photo we drew our inspiration from.  Isn't it fun???

I drew my inspiration from the curtains and the tree showing through the window.

My card began with Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Lipstick Red card stock.  My image is from the "Snow Much Fun" stamp set.  I ruffled my ribbon and added a few "tabs" of it on the side of my image.  My tree was stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy.  I then added a few bits of Stickles to the three to create the shimmer.

You can play along with us by heading over to the Stamp TV Forum and adding your creation to the CSS Inspiration Blog Hop category.  I hope you do!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great day!  *smile*

The Best Thing About Me....

... definitely my darling husband!!!  He had a rough day at work the other day and I wanted to cheer him up a bit so my card today was for him.  :-)

But first... Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!  And I am MOST thankful that I found this wonderful man and even more thankful that he loves me so very much.  I am truly blessed.  Now onto my card.  :-)

I used Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Vanilla card stock as my base.  I recently got this FABULOUS embossing folder (sorry I forgot the name) from StampinUp.  I used Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink to brush along the edges of the card.  I then used the Tea Dye Distress Ink to apply over the embossed areas.  My sentiment was stamped onto Nina Brackett's, "Lovely Labels 2" and is from Gina's set, "Love Notes".  I then used Melanie Muenchinger's set, "A Year of Leaves"

I hope he has a better Monday.  I think God will handle all things in his way and he knows best so I'm pretty confident everything will be fine.  He's my rock and my shoulder when I'm down so I try my best to keep upbeat and confident for him when he needs it as well.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!  *smile*

Snow Fun!

I havc been having lots of fun making Christmas and winter cards and today is no different.  I'm thinking I'll be making Christmas cards until the end of November.  So, I hope you don't mind me continuing just a little longer.  :-)

My card today was made using the new Stamp TV Kit, "Winter Wonderland".  I love all the variety in this kit and these skates are one of my favorite.  I LOVED skating until I was an adult and took my niece out to teach her on a local pond one evening when my skate got caught in a crack and I fell and broke my wrist!!  Yep... some teacher, huh? LOL  She was fine... she didn't need help or someone to show her... just a natural!  Instead... she helped me to the car! LOL  Go figure we were clear across the pond when I broke it!

I think I have a thing for Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Turquoise Sea card stock!  Seems I've been using lots of it lately.  Ha!  I layered it with some In The Navy and some White as well as the gorgeous DP from the same Stamp TV Kit.  Doesn't it look like skate swirls on the ice??! :-)

I stamped the skates in Versamark and heat embossed them with silver.  My ribbon is another "snowy" design I found in my stash.

I certainly hope you are not having to put up with temperatures cold enough to make ice, but sadly, I know it will be coming soon enough to Iowa!

Thanks for stopping by today and if you hate winter as much as I do... let's pretend we're going to a ice skating RINK! Have a great day!! *smile*

Treasured Memories

I'm having a busy week sooooo... today I thought I'd share an older card with you that I hadn't put on the blog.

I haven't had near enough time to work with this stamp set from Melanie Muenchinger called "Buds and Vases" from Gina K Designs.  I was thinking of my son when I created this card.  He has a wonderful little collection on his shelf of toys from when he was a baby/toddler and I thought how cute it would be to have a jar of memories.  I love that he's still so sentimental at the ripe old age of 13. Ha   :-)

I layered my blue card stock and embossed two of them with my Cuttlebug embossing folders.  My images, as it turned out, inside the jar are also from another of Melanie's set, "Wee Tees" and the rattle was from her "Hip-Hop Accessories" set.  I'd say she has the baby market covered.  Hee

I colored my images with my Copic markers and once I finished I used my blender pen to rub out some of the color... they ARE old toys! ;-)

I'll have a new set of cards ready for next week.  Until then... have a fabulous weekend!! *smile*

Poinsettia Border

I FINALLY got my "A Year of Borders" by Melanie Muenchinger!!!  YAYYYY!!!  I think we had a new mailman at My Studio and he left a "pick up" tag instead of leaving my package. Pretty much the normal deliveries are just left at my door so I think it must have been a replacement for our regular guy who left it. But.. I was super busy last week with a death in the family, my daughter's birthday party and then another party the next night for the family and my niece and I just didn't have time to get to the Post Office.  Well today was the day!!! Yippee!!!

I decided on a single layer card using the poinsettia's from Melanie's set.  I colored the images with my Copic markers.  Below the border I added an image from Nina Brackett's, "Lovely Labels 2".  My sentiment is from another of Melanie's set, "Festive Frame".  Of course all these gorgeous stamps can be purchased at Gina K Designs!

Again, I found some awesome Christmas ribbon in my stash and decided to use it on the top and bottom of this card.

I hope you are getting your holiday cards finished.  I just can't seem to stop and I would bet I have plenty to send out.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  *smile*

Gina's Spotlight Color Challenge 11/19

I'm a little late on posting my Stamp TV Color Spotlight Challenge for 11/19 on my blog, but with a death in the family, my daughter's birthday today AND another party for my daughter and niece (they share a birthday)... then the previews for the Gina K Designs Release Party last night, I've had lots going on!!  But.. nonetheless... here it is.  It was posted on the StampTV site but I never had a chance to post it on my blog.

My card started out with Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Green Apple card stock.  I layered it with Lipstick Red and then a layer of White.  I stamped the mitten from Nina Brackett's, "Winter Mitten Stamp Set" in Memento Cottage Ivy and then I stamped it again with Vivid Brick Red for the stop part of the glove.  I cut and layered the top of the glove.

My mitten was raised up with pop dots and I mounted it on top of some awesome ribbon I found in my stash.  A few rhinestones swirls to add to the "snowy" sentiment.

Don't forget, Gina post new color challenges every week on Stamp TV and if you play along you have a chance to win a free stamp set of your choice valued at $24.95.  If you use Gina K Designs stamp, your name goes in the drawing TWO times!!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to play along!! *smile*

The Warmth of Friends

Brrrrrr.. this card makes me cold!!! But I couldn't resist.  LOVE the mitten in Nina Brackett's, "Winter Mittens Stamp Set" from Gina K Designs!  My sentiment is from Gina K's "Holiday Greetings Stamp Set"

See that fabulous DP??? It's one of the wonderful additions to the new Stamp TV Kit, "Winter Wonderland".  There is sooooo much in this awesome kit you must check it out!!  Tons of paper AND ribbon!!!

It's hard to see here but the rick rack is wonderfully glittered and I just couldn't resist putting two strands to add to the "snowiness" (that isn't a word, I know! Ha) of my card.

Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday and I'll miss some time at My Studio but I will be there creating and hopefully making a few more winter/Christmas cards before the rush of the holidays hits me.

Have a great weekend and go get crafty!!! *smile*

My Flaky Friend

I was hoping I had someone I could give a winter card to using Gina K's, "Snow Much Fun Stamp Set"!!  I have a cousin who's birthday is December 30th and I figured I'd wait over a month to make her a card.  Then a dear friend of mine told me her son's birthday was coming soon and I was thrilled!!  Not only is he her son...  but he is the one that signed me up at Gold's Gym!!

I used Gina's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Green Apple card stock for my base.  I found some fabulous DP that doesn't look like it in the pic here, but it matches her Turquoise card stock as well.  I used my Nestabilities Label 1 for the shape of my card and decided to make it into an easel card.

I popped my sentiment on pop dots to give my card a place to rest into an easel and display on his desk.

My image was colored with my Copic markers.  And to add to the snowy card, I used some self-adhesive pearls to stack up as snowballs.  :-)

Easel cards are so much fun and you can really use any shape you want.  Give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  *smile*

Wreath of Gold

Hi friends!!!  Today I wanted to share a card with you that I made for my dear friend.  I recently helped her move and was thinking I wanted something "warm" and yet something that wasn't to Christmas looking nor to Thanksgiving to send her a little blessing... know what I mean??

I decided to use Gina K's "Winter Wonderland Stamp TV Kit" and heat emboss the wreath.  I LOVE the warmth that the gold and wine color give to each other.  My base card is Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight "Wine with Everything" layered with the fabulous "Good as Gold" metallic card stock.  That awesome DP is also from the New Stamp TV Kit!!1 Isn't is perfect?!!  It has a bit of a gloss to it and I just love it!!!

I used my Circle Nestabilities to layer with the Scallop Circle Nestabilities and raised it all up with a few pop dots. A gold ribbon I found in my stash and a branch punch with a few crystal gems which I colored with my Copics added just what I wanted to this simple but "warm" card.

On the inside I simply used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Antique Linen, to add to the white card stock and a simple strip of the DP and my gold metallic ribbon.  I really like how this all came together and was completely shocked when two MEN told me how nice a card it was.  (Occupants in the building My Studio is in.)

I can see this being a non-traditional Christmas card as well with many different sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!!! *smile*

Love at Christmas

Do you think I'm crazy?? I just HAD to add all these images together with this awesome sentiment from Gina K Designs, "Blessed is the Season"

I used my Cuttlebug Hearts embossing folder for the background (the love in the sentiment).  My dove came from the same set (the peace) and the bells were from Theresa Momber's set, "A Very Merry Christmas" (the joy).

I colored the bells with my Copic markers and used some of that fabulous lace my friend, Nina Brackett, sent me a while back. LOVE that lace!

I added the inside for you to see because I felt so clever using the MS Branch punch inside so that the white showed through the green.  But... I wished I had placed the bling a bit higher before I took the picture.  it's a bit long but I moved the bling up more and it looks more like holly and berries now.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  *smile*

Stamp TV Sketch Challenge

Well, I think I have my head back on now... it was kinda dizzy and scattered today with the BIG announcement made by Gina K over on Stamp TV!!  Nonetheless... truly exciting and a VERY happy day for me! :-)

Gina also put up the new Spotlight Sketch Challenge video today.  I hope you play along for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice valued up to $24.95.

Here's the sketch:

I intended to post my card along WITH the announcement on my blog today but... like I said... my head was just whirling.  Hee Hee

My card was created using Gina's, "Blessed is the Season" and "Holiday Greetings Stamp Set".  My card base is the Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Turquoise Sea which, apparently, is a new fav for me this winter... I can't seem to stop using it!! I layered it with my Pure Luxury White card stock and my DP is from the Basic Grey line, "Olivia".  I love the plaid in the winter.. always makes me think of being toasty warm in my flannel pajama pants.  :-)

I added a bit of bling that reminded me of snow flurries whirling around in the winter.

I hope  you stop over and post YOUR project using Gina's sketch.  Why not... you could be a winner!!

Have a great day!! *smile*

No Snow Yet... But Mittens!!

Noooo I am NOT wanting snow!!! But... I couldn't resist using these adorable mittens by Nina Brackett's, "Winter Mittens Stamp Set" from Gina K Designs.  Not only are they cute... they also coordinate with the Spellbinders Nested Mittens

I began using the Spellbinder Snowflake Impressibilities and sponging Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Fired Brick and Antique Linen onto my Pure Luxury White Heavy Base Weight card stock

I mounted my mittens on top of the gorgeous Basic Grey Jovial DP which has this warm flannel pattern included.  I LOVE how cozy it makes the mittens look with the snowy background.

My sentiment is from the new Stamp TV Kit Winter Wonderland.  There are sooo many fabulous images in this set and the new DP included is amazing.  You must check it out.  AND... that's not all... there is a TON of Pure Luxury card stock included in the kit as well!!

I left the inside of my card to allow for my own message.  But again... couldn't resist the warm flannel DP and again used the Distress Inks to add a small amount of color to the borders.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *smile*

CSS Color Challenge Hop

Tonight the Gina K's CSS team is hopping again!!!  Tonight we are sharing a color challenge!  If you came here from Tera Fujan's blog, you are on track!!! If you'd like to begin the hop from the start... head over to Carla Suto's blog to see everyone's fabulous designs!

Blog Hop Details:

Create a card or project using the following color combo:
  • White or Ivory
  • Brown
  • Light Blue (Little Boy Blue, Ocean Mist, or Turquoise Sea)
  • Yellow (Lemon Drop, Sweet Corn, or Wild Dandelion)
Here is my card....

I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Gifts from the Sea" and colored my images with my Copic markers.  I cut the blue shell out and popped it up with pop dots.

I started with Gina K's Pure Luxury card stock in Kraft.  I layered that with Lemon Drop and then added my Little Boy Blue. My image was stamped on white and  I used my Deckled Edge Rectangle Nestabilitie leaving it on to add a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen to the inside frame.  My Lemon Drop and Little Boy Blue was distressed and tilted a bit.  I distressed the edges of my Kraft card stock also with the Antique Linen.

A simple hemp cording also set a bit wonky to finish my card.

You next stop on the hop will be to head over to the Stamp TV Forum to add YOUR design to share with us! :-)  We'd love to see what you do with the fabulous colors.

Have a great day and thanks for hopping with us!! *smile*

My lace was white and I sprayed it with some glimmer mist to add a color to match Gina's challenge.  A few drops of diamond Stickles to the fringe on the stocking and the toe ... a big read bow ... and done!  Quick, easy and within the challenge!
