Bleached Wood

Must be time for another "Sending Sunshine" by Theresa Momber card!!  As I said before, I LOVE this tree in Theresa's set.  This wonderful bench is not the only item you get in this set that would look great under this wonderful tree.

I can just imagine sitting on this bench under this grand tree and feeling a breeze brush across my face.  Can't you??? Ha!

I used "bleach technique" to stamp my image.  Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Weight card stock does so well with this technique.  I love the contrast of colors it created on this card.

I could easily see this as a nice sympathy card if you were to simply change the sentiment out.

I think I'll just stare at my tree a bit and get lost in my dreams as I contemplate tomorrow's post. Hee Hee

Have a great SPRING day!! *smile*

A Little Birdie.....

My card today was created with the new StampTV Kit, Spring Mix.  You will not believe how many wonderful images, sentiments and even frames are in this HUGE kit.  Not to mention the wonderful paper, ribbons and eyelets!!!  Gina K has really outdone herself with this kit!!

I used the mailbox with the little chipmunk holding mail.  Isn't he adorable?!!  I colored the image with my Copic markers and mounted it on top of a gate folded card.  My little buttons are from the Pure Luxury Spring Button assortment.  I used the larger one to hold the panels of my card closed by nesting just the tip of the Nestabilitie rectangle under it.

And, when you open the card.... Hee Hee.  Isn't this little birdie just cute as can be??!! I love him!! There are other sentiments in the kit that would fit perfectly on his little paper as well.  Again, I used my Copic markers to color my image in.

Go to Gina K Designs and check this awesome kit out.  The images are so cute and playful and yet.. she has also included some wonderful flowering images that work great on just about any type of card you desire.

Have a great day!! *smile*

It's Monday Color Challenge Time!!!

Once again...it's time to challenge yourself with new colors!!!  Hope over to Stamp TV and enter your card using for the Color Challenge using RED, KRAFT and IVORY and YOU could win any stamp set valued at $24.95 or less from Gina K Designs!!

I could not resist using Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "A Beautiful Life" again.  This has so many possibilities from frames to wonderfully colored or NOT colored cards!  I just keep trying something new and I find I like it more and more!!

For my card today I paper pieced most of it.  I used a Kraft base and stamped my image in red onto Ivory Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight card stock and once onto my DP then one last time on Kraft. I began with cutting the Ivory piece down to fit over my red card stock layer.  Then... I colored my tulips with my Copic markers.

Once the coloring was done.. I started by taking my stamped Kraft piece and just cutting out the middle and adhering it to the stamped Ivory layer.  Then... I did the same with my red DP.  I stamped my sentiment in red and also used the butterfly from Melanie's set and stamped it onto another piece of ivory... twice.  I layered my butterfly this way allowing the top layer to be folded up making the butterfly dimensional.

Remember... you have until Sunday, April 4th, at 8:00 PM CST to post your sample using these colors.  Good luck and happy stamping!

Thinking FAWNLY of you...

I am always so happy to find new "deer" in stamp sets!! My father is a huge bow hunter and has shot more deer than anyone I know!  When Theresa Momber's new set, "Sending Sunshine", came out with this cute little fawn in it, I knew, once again, I'd have another stamp to make Father's Day and birthday cards with for my dad.

I colored my cute fawn with my Copic markers and I admit... I made a quick phone call to dad just to get details on how they looked in real life.  Good thing too, because I would have left more of him with white fur than I did.  I think it always makes dad happy to know we still come to him for advice.. even on little things.

I stamped my image on Ivory Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Card Stock and then used my circle Netabilitie to cut him out.  I then mounted that on top of another Nestabilitie circle in Chocolate Kiss.  That gorgeous DP is from the new Stamp TV Kit as well.  I used Theresa's "grass/weed/flower" (it can be so many things depending on the coloring) stamp from her set to stamp and stamp off along the bottom of my Ivory layer.  Then added self-adhesive nail heads to each corner.

I really like how this turned out.  A nice CAS card, I think.

Have a great day!  *smile*

Dream and Bloom

This HAS to be my favorite card from the new Gina K Designs release last week!!  Melanie Muenchinger's, "A Beautiful Day" is just so much fun to color, coordinate and design with!!  I have more ideas for this set and I am sure you will get more than your fair share of cards I design with it long before I'm done.. hee hee.

This time around I stamped my card in White Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Card Stock in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I stamped it again onto a piece of the new DP that came in the newest Stamp TV Kit, "Spring Mix" and just cut out the middle of the oval.  I paper pieced this to the white card stock.  I colored my flowers with my Copic markers and used a shade of pink to fill in the border along the outside of the image that I found would work closely with the new Bubblegum Pink Pure Luxury card stock.  I also did this with the inner oval border matching the Creme de' Menthe card stock.

I then used the butterfly in Melanie's set and stamped it several times then colored them with Copics and cut them out.  I adhered just the middle of them to the card stock with Pop Dots.  My sentiment is actually from Rupa Shevde's, "Spring Has Sprung" set and I thought it went perfect with the flowers and butterflies.

I hope you are having a gorgeous weekend.  It's just FULL Spring here and I am loving the sunshine and the warmth of the season!! Have a great day!  *smile*

Shadow or Not??

Is this Punxsutawney Phil??? I sure hope so. LOL That's what I saw when I got Gina K's newest Stamp TV Kit. OMGosh... a little groundhog... telling us Spring is here!!! WooHoo!!! Not only does this set have soooooooo many stamp sets, the DP is just awesome as well!! I love how many colors are included in this set! I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them in with my Copic markers. I embossed the base card with my Cuttlebug and layered on some of that wonderful DP before adding my Nestie cut out image. Gina also added two different sizes of butterflies to this set and I love how she drew the wings!! Just perfect for bold stamping or if you wanted.. you could fill in the spots and spaces with more color!! Make sure you hop over to Stamp TV and see all the wonderful new videos Gina will be creating with this awesome set. I'm sure she won't disapoint us! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *smile* Signature

Spring Cleaning...

There are so many cute images in Rupa Shevde's new "Spring Has Sprung" set! I couldn't decide which one to use first!! I saw the bird DP I had scraps of and decided to do the birdies in the bath. But I love the tiny butterfly as well!! My card base is the new "Little Boy Boy" Pure Luxury Heavy Weight card stock from Gina K Designs. The top of my card is sporting some of the new paper found in her recent Stamp TV Kit, "Spring Mix". I am loving EVERYTHING in that kit!!! After stamping my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored them in with my Kooh-i-noor Pencils and used my blending stumps on them. I love the soft look it gives using this coloring technique. Remember how I told you I buy only clear rhinestones??? Well... I do the same with my pearls and these pearls were white and I simply used my Copic markers to color them exactly the shade I wanted! Have a great day and I hope you see the birds giving themselves a cleaning soon! *smile* Signature

Tina's Tree

Guess what?? It's got PURPLE in it!!! LOL OMGosh... I was sooooo in love with this tree in Theresa Momber's new set, "Sending Sunshine". I also used one of the daffodil stamps she has in the set AND the sentiment. This is just a perfect all along Springtime set. The tire swing is also a separate stamp so if you didn't want to use it, you wouldn't have to. :-) I colored all the images using my Copic markers. I added a simple bow at the bottom with that fantastic Bow Easy. Do you have one yet?? You can hardly mess up a perfect bow using one of these!! Also I added self adhesive rhinestones to the top and bottom. Do you buy colored rhinestones?? I never do. All my rhinestones are clear and I color them to whatever I desire with my Copic markers. I also do this with my pearls. I order all white and color them to match whatever I need them to. Great money saver!! I have even more cards with Theresa's set so stop back often as I will be posting them along with other new sets that were just released at Gina K's. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

"A Beautiful Life" with Melanie

I do not know how she does it, but Melanie Muenchinger has created yet another FABULOUS set called, "A Beautiful Life" for Gina K. Designs. I have been a HUGE fan of the tulips in her older set, "A Year of Flowers" so this awesome set was just jaw dropping for me when I saw it. I think to date, I have made four cards with this set and it was just released last Thursday!! Kudos, Melanie... keep em coming, girlfriend!! For my wedding tulip card I stamped the image in Summer Sky Memento ink on White Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight card stock. I used my Copic markers to color in the tulip and then applied a bit of a shine to the edges with my Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen and for the inner oval I used my Marine Stardust Meteor Glitter pens. My image was mounted on top a layer of In the Navy Pure Luxury Base Weight card stock and then I applied a ribbon edge all around the outside. My card base was made using the new Little Boy Blue Pure Luxury card stock. I have been soooooooo ready for Spring to come and when I see tulips pushing thru the ground, I feel refreshed and ready for a new day!! Believe me, there will be even more cards coming up on my blog using "A Beautiful Life". Can't you just feel Spring?? Have a great day! *smile* Signature

What's In YOUR Closet???

I bet it isn't a train! LOL Seriously... Gina K's inspiration challenge last week was to find something in your closet that you can use on a card and post your finished product on Stamp TV. Well... I found TWO things to use on this card. The metal button was my first find... that is an easy one because everyone has extra buttons from closed they got that came with an extra... or...as in my case... one I found on the floor of the closet! LOL The second item I found was the ribbon. I was searching thru clothes I decided to give away to the local Battered Womens Shelter and inside a sweater pocket, I found this ribbon that my mother-in-law had given to me at my father-in-law's funeral last August. I believe it either came from a card/book or flower arrangement that the Legion had given to him as a memorial. Obviously, it being such a difficult day, I put it in my pocket and there it remained. When she handed it to me she said.. "This is pretty ribbon, why don't you take it and make something with it." So... here it is. My father-in-law was a huge lover of trains and very much a proud American and Veteran. I miss him dearly when I go to visit and he's not there bellering "Well hello there!" in his big strong voice. He always seemed like such a strong man and to have watched him slowly weekend and struggle over the last year just broke my heart. Ok.. so enough of the saddness... on with the card. I used Gina's set, "Not Forgotten" for my sentiment and Theresa Momber's, "Life is Good" which contains the gorgeous train. I colored in the train with my Copic markers and used my Copic Airbrush System to add a little grey around the edges of my Nestabilitie. On the inside you can see a little peak of the plaid DP I used as well. Jake was also very proud of his Scottish heritage and I know he would have loved this card. He always kept every card I ever made him. *smile* I hope you have a great day and I hope you get some inspiration from whatever you find in your closet, home or memories. *smile*

It's Color Challenge Time!!!

Hi my friends!! I'm back with a new color challenge for Stamp TV!!! I got home this afternoon after a long weekend trip with my kids to Omaha. We decided to get away before they head back to school tomorrow. So... I'm ready to give you the deets on the new Color Challenge this week!! The basis for my colors this week comes from the new "Happy Spring Card Kit" from Gina K Designs. Jessica Fick, Gina's DT Coordinator, does a FABULOUS job designing these wonderful kits. And for $19.95 you get the stamp set, the DP, the card stock, ribbon, brads AND the instructions so that you can create the cards exactly as Jessica did!!! Such a deal!! I decided to make my own design but use the kit materials. So, for those of you who don't have the kit (yet... *wink*) you can enter the challenge by using purple, apple green and white. I apologize for the photo looking blue... but honestly... it's purple. It's just such a vibrant shade it was hard for me to get the pic I wanted. Please come join us in this week's Color Challenge. You could win any set of your choice for $24.95 or less from Gina K. Nothing to lose and STAMPS to gain!! Have a great day!! *smile* Signature

So Much in Hand!!!

"Shall we play a game?" Hee Hee I loved hearing that computer voice in the movie, "War Games" with Matthew Broderick. I remember he had to play "global thermal nuclear war" and BEAT the computer! Aaaack!!! Glad the world wasn't depending on me! LOL Anywhooooo... Karen Knegten's "Anything but a Card" challenge was to make these adorable card holders and card box cover. I was at my shop when I took the picture and so I don't have any cards in them to show you how they work, but if you click HERE, you can see Karen's beautiful example. I made mine to look bright and cheery as I was giving them to my daughter who always complains when we play card games that she can't hold them in her hand "like big people do". *smile* Well... now she can! This was just such a clever idea and... I bet some of the older crowd and those with arthritis would LOVE to have a set of these as well. I used the Octopus from Gina's, "Just Keep Swimming" set and the sentiment was just TO appropriate. Hee Hee. I stamped him and colored him in with my Copic markers. Then I used the Copic Airbrush System to add "waves" to the bottom of each holder. On the front I simply added colorful DP and used the word "Play" from Gina's, "Lazy Days of Summer". The base for the holders was done using 4" X 4" chipboard pieces. Or in my case, coasters from a local bar that my sister manages. Ha! I can find craft items most anywhere I go and she handed me a big supply when I stopped to see their new building one day. SCORE!! Wouldn't these make lovely stocking stuffers as well at Christmas? Never to late to start planning!! Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow! *smile*

Happy Spring Card Kit Hop

Tonight we are showing a very cute and fun card kit from Gina K Designs... "Happy Spring"!! Gina's Design Team Coordinator, Jessica Fick, does such an awesome job of coordinating these kits and making sample cards AND instructions for you to follow. ALL the paper, ribbon and brads are included in this kit along with the instructions and photos of how her finished cards look. Not to mention the stamps as well!!!! The kits will make 3-4 cards and for $19.95, it's hard to beat!! Tonight my card does not follow Jessica's instructions or examples at all. This way... you can get an idea of how else you can use this awesome set.
I Cuttlebugged the bottom and did a little paper piecing of the hats. I colored the ribbons on the hats in with my Copic markers and added some "other" ribbon from the Stamp TV Kit this month to the top. My second card didn't quite turn out the way I wanted because one of our employees (yes I was at working making cards! LOL) was emptying trash and threw away the scraps I had left of my green dotted paper!!! LOL Now... I COULD have gotten it out, but that would have meant getting into the dumpster to do so! No! LOL
Since I just got my set last night and worked today AND had to leave home as soon as I got my kids, I couldn't throw another one together. I promise I'll post more from this fabulous kit when I get back home.
This kit is so cute and with Spring here.. I like to think so even though it's suppose to snow tonight!!... it's hard to resist. For even more projects with Happy Spring, please check out these GinaK Designer's blogs: Have a great time hopping. I'm off with my kids for a small weekend trip before they head back to school on Monday! *smile* Signature

Manly Anniversary or Birthday?

This was probably the EASIEST card I've made all week!!! I didn't do any coloring or clipping out of objects, at all!!! I used Vicki's Sketch Challenge for the week over on Stamp TV for my layout. She chose a very nice simple sketch so it made this project even quicker!! First I Cuttlebugged my base card with the Argyle folder. Next... simply lay out my papers and glue!!! My image is from Theresa Momber's, "Timeless Treasures". Again... I didn't even bother to color it in... I just stamped it in Memento, "Rich Cocoa". It has been a most busy week for me with kids out for Spring Break... getting ready for the March Gina K Release Party and I certainly needed a quick and simple card like this! I hope you got to join the fun at the Release Party tonight on Stamp TV and that you hurried over to Gina K's to place your order for all the new fun sets that are out!!! Have a great Friday!! *smile*

Pressed Sunshine!

Good morning, Sunshine!! *smile* That's what I say to each of my kids when they wake up.. hee hee. I originally made this card for a Color Challenge over on Stamp TV then one thing lead to another and somehow a different card won out of this. Ha! I began with Melanie Muenchinger's, "Pressed Flowers" and colored them using my Memento markers before stamping them. I also grabbed her "A Year of Flowers" to add the outlined image of the same flower in a different color. How fun are these two sets together??!! I cut each flower out and mounted them on top of my oval and scalloped oval Nestabilities. I love the layers so much when you put Pop Dots under them to lift them a bit. My DP is from Gina K's, "Sweet as Sugar" digital paper pack. A little ribbon and a bow with nail head accents in the corner and that's it. Aren't you just ready for summer???? I sure am! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by... I really appreciate your taking the time and leaving comments too!! *smile*

Caring Pixies

I just adore these cute little pixies that Alicia Krupsky illustrated for Gina K called, "Wishes and Dreams". I HAD to ask Gina if the top pixie was drawn to be sitting (she's Alicia's mom, in case you didn't know). Alicia stated she drew her to be "hovering" over something. Well... here's what first came to mind when I found that bit of info out. *smile* Those eyes and her little hand to her mouth just look so caring. So I figure she must be thinking about and watching over her bff pixie??? Awwwwww I used Copic markers to color the images in and cut them out and mounted them on Theresa Momber's "Wings of Hope" digital paper. I hope you have someone who watches over you and wishes nothing but the best for you. Have a great day! *smile*

It's time again for another Stamp TV Color Challenge!!!! I am so excited to be hostessing these challenges and I even more excited that so many people are giving them a shot! I hope to take it a bit easy on the gals this time around. *smile* In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Wednesday, I decided we would "go GREEN"! I used one of Gina K's Stamp TV Kits, "Eclectic Summer" and my sentiment came from Melanie Muenchinger's, "Just So Hoppy". I colored my image with Copic markers and added just a touch of glitter to my flowers. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder on the back card stock layer. I also used my MS branch punch to add around my Nestabilitie. I hope you come by Stamp TV and join in on the fun. Really.... this should be an easy challenge, heck I didn't even use shamrocks or leprechauns! Hee Hee Have a great day! *smile* Signature

It's a Surprise Party!!!! It is Stamp TV's 1st birthday and we just wanted to throw a little party for Gina! Happy 1st Birthday Stamp TV!!! To celebrate, a bunch of design team members and challenge hostesses decided to create birthday cards using a previous Stamp TV kit (or Gina K set). Leave a comment on every blog along the way because one lucky commenter will receive the all new Stamp TV kit that will be released next week!!!! (And....you're gonna LOVEEE it!) You will have until Sunday, March 14 at 8:00 p.m. central to post comments on all the blogs. The winner will be posted on Stamp TV on Monday!

Be sure to check out all of the birthday cards on these blogs:

Carolyn Jessica Melanie Theresa Lee Tami Nina Lynn Donna Erika Emily Cathy Valerie Bev Tina Karen Vicki

My card was designed with Gina's, "Elegant Flowers" set which was part of her second Stamp TV Kits, I believe. I LOVE all the flowers in this set and Stargazer Lillies are some of my very favorite flowers!! Though I've had this set since it came out... I had never tried to do the lillies and I thought it was finally time!! I used Theresa Momber's, "Wings of Hope", digital paper from Gina K and crumpled it up a bit before applying my Nestabilitie shape on top with my flowers. I am so happy with how it looked in the end. I colored my image with my Copic markers. Stamp TV has meant so much to me this last year. It has helped me to broaden my horizons in both creativity AND confidence. I cannot even begin to think about HOW I even came up with designs or techniques prior to Stamp TV. Gina is probably the most generous, caring and HARD WORKING persons I know! I am positive that because it's Gina, Stamp TV is the BEST Internet site for information, help, inspiration and friendship EVER!!! I hope you come join us all. Yep, I Stole It!

Before I tell you what I "stole", let me tell you about this card. I LOVE having cards on hand that have no sentiment on the front and are of a "generic" design. My daughter came home one night from school and BEFORE heading to bed that evening, said to me... "Mom, tomorrow is Mrs. E.J.'s birthday!!! I need to give her a card!" Well... I'll say it again.. I LOVE having cards on hand with no sentiments!! Gotcha covered, baby girl!!! I handed her the card and she wrote her birthday message on the inside and WAH LA... Mrs. E. J. has a birthday card!!! Now... about the card. I DID have a card on hand.... but it wasn't finished!! I had truly intended to put a butterfly on the front, but as it turned out... I didn't have time to finish coloring it and adding to the front. Soooo... I STOLE the butterfly from another card I made which colors fit this card. Remember THIS post??? Hee Hee Yep... same butterfly!! Honestly, I don't do this often... in fact... hardly EVER. But I must say.. it sure was fun posting a message board on Stamp TV and finding out how many OTHERS have done this. LOL I mean... uhhhh... of course we don't!!!! *grin* My card was done using my Houndstooth Cuttlebug embossing folder which is just a perfect background for Nina Bracket's , "Lovely Labels". OMGosh I find it so hard not to grab this set for almost every card. She certainly thought this thru when she made them to fit perfectly with the Nestabilities!!! Kudos, Nina!! Of course... you can't help but top it all off with a perfect bow using that awesome Bow Easy tool!!! You really must have this in your stamping bag!! Have a great day and please remember... I am not a thief! LOL *smile* Signature

Looking Out My Window

Today I am sharing a very simple and easy card I made using Gina K's Inspiration Challenge from a few weeks ago. Gina challenged us to make a card showing what we like to see out our window. For me, I LOVE seeing my kids playing in the pool OR the sprinklers. They have so much fun and it lets me know they are having a happy childhood. Also, Gina showed us on one of her wonderful videos how to make our "window" using the Scor-Pal and how to use it to border our ribbon. For my card I used the Kindred Spirits stamp' "Summer Fun". I colored the image with my Copic markers added the ribbon to the card a button and a few metallic dots to finish off this cute summer "window". I hope you take time to stop over to StampTV and check out all the awesome creative videos that Gina puts up to keep the inspiration flowing. Look for a new video every Wednesday, I promise, you won't be disappointed. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Taylored Expressions Charity Card Event

Today I am sharing a couple cards I made for Taylored Expressions Dragonfly Card Drive. If you haven't heard of this... the details are HERE. I love donating any way I can to help children and when I know of parents who have lost a child, my heart just melts and I wish I could do more for every one of them. I know cards can never do even close to enough but I hope that they bring just a tiny smile to their faces and at least a little bit of warmth in their heart to know that people care. I used Taylored Expressions', "Discover Your Wings" to make both cards. Taylor is accepting cards until March 25th and if you have a little time.. I'm sure she would love to get a few hand made cards from you as well. Do we ever have enough time to do all we want for those that need comforting? No. Do we stop doing because we can't do enough? No. "Compassion is what separates us from the animals.", Charles Gilliland. I loved when I heard my brother-in-law make this comment. It's true... we can care for those we don't even know and the world is a little better place. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Vicki Dutcher's Sketch Challenge

I am sooooooo loving this sketch challenge that Vicki Duchter posted on Stamp TV last week!! It was easy, different and so much fun to do!! Stamp TV has so many challenges and ideas to help keep your mojo flowing that I cannot image where my inspiration would come from if I wasn't a part of this wonderful community!! Not to mention the over 10,000(!!!!!) members who post their work daily that I get to draw inspiration from!!! On this challenge card I used Theresa Momber's, "Hang In There" set which included this cute cute little raccoon!! I turned him horizontally because I wanted to use the "I miss you" sentiment thinking that he looked sorta sad. :-( Now "I" can totally see this poor little creature laying on a log like he just doesn't have the will to climb. Hee Hee I colored my image with Copic markers and mounted him on my oval Nestabilities. I HAVE to share my button find with you!! I LOVE that these buttons remind me of tree bark! Don't ya think???? Well... one day I was at my shop and attempting to do a "vintage" card when I decided I wanted to add a button. Needless to say... I had none. So I phoned my mom who lives near my shop and asked if she had any of my Grandmother's old buttons that I use to use as a kid when I visited her (she taught me to sew them onto a scrap piece of material every time I went over). Sure enough...she did!!! She said she not only had HER mom's buttons, but that she had gotten all the buttons from my father's mom as well!!!! WooHoo!!!! SCORE!!! I ran right over and WOW the buttons we went thru!!! I had so much fun and I must admit... I definitely NEED to get better at vintage cards because NOW I have a ton of buttons to use with them!! :-) I hope you have a great day and if you ever feel you're stuck and need to find inspiration, hop on over to Stamp TV. If you're not a member... we'd LOVE to have you and if you are... I KNOW you won't be mojoless long. Hee Hee *smile* Signature
