Hopeful Hearts Sympathy
When my dear friend Bette passed away a couple years ago I wanted to send her husband a very personalized sympathy card, of course... she was so near and dear to my heart. Tom was very aware of my desire to be at Bette's memorial service but I had made hotel reservations out of state to take my kids on a summer trip. And though I initially decided I was going to cancel the trip, I knew in my heart it is not what my dear friend would have wanted me to do. I could hear her voice telling me, "Christina, go be with your children. I'm fine." And so, I went on our trip and tried very hard to be happy and excited for not only my children but because I knew it was what Bette would have wanted.
In making Tom a sympathy card, I realized I rarely saw a "manly" design. This card, I think, is such a design.
I used Tami Mayberry's newest release, "Hopeful Hearts". I started with Gina K's Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight kraft card stock. I simply added a wide strip of DP which reminded me of an old fashioned material. I added a brown sheer ribbon across the middle of the DP. I stamped the hearts with my Memento inks and punched them out. Using pop dots, I adhered them to the middle of the card. A few self-adhesive copper nail heads.
I love this new set of Tami's. She not only has some beautiful hearts in the set, but some awesome sentiments and quotes.
I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by! *smile*

Great card! Love the colors and the layout! TFS!
Great card for a guy, Tina. (Sorry you lost your friend, I'm sure you miss her, even after two years).
this is a really nice sympathy card, they can be the hardest ones to make.
Sorry to read about your friend, (((((((hugs))))))))
