Limited Supplies? No Worries!
While preparing for a class one day I was thinking of one of my class members who had just started with us and didn't have much to work with. OBVIOUSLY, we all know how much it can cost in this "hobby" not only when you start out, but as you venture into new things and see ALL the options this creative madness has out there to offer!!
So, I decided to do a few cards to show her and others at the class that you don't really need EVERYTHING at once! My cards that day showcased usually one color of ink and embellishments.
This first was a crowd favorite. How very clean and easy to do. I loved it because, well... friendship to me is love and when I think of love... I think of hearts... and red and pink. So... here was the first example my group enjoyed that day.
My next example was more "subdued?". This color... which is one of my all time favs... Cameo Coral... can be great for just about anything... soft cards, feminine, sympathy, birthday and yes, I've even used it in the fall when all the leaves are changing. Just a nice color to have.
My last card was done in black and grey. The basic color of black is something MOST of us head for first. Add a grey or even a white and you can do sooooooo many beautiful cards. I decided to do a sympathy card for a male. Sometimes I think of sympathy cards for a family and it seems, most often I do them with a female in mind. So I took this and decided that it would probably be something a male would connect with better than a woman. I don't know that many of us care for the doom/gloom of black and grey, but somehow... I felt a male could relate to this card easier.
Well, that's it for now. There are always SO MANY options you can do with a few basic supplies and I think my group was amazed that it was that easy to use one or even two colors and come up with a huge array of cards. Of course, one of my favs has always been black and white or even with a hint of red added in. I find when I start that cycle I have to remind myself to STOP! LOL I can probably go on forever with blacks and whites. But for now... remember, it's not WHAT you have... but HOW you use it. Hmmmm... is that like... a REAL saying... ohhhh never mind. LOL
Have a great day and don't worry about expanding your supplies... expand your creative side and you will have TONS to work on. *smile*

Great cards especially the first one! Reminds me of beautiful Red Work stitcheries - that would look so nice!
