For My Soul Friend....

Today I'd like to share a card I made for my dear friend, Kathy Corbett.  Kathy and I took the Brave Girls Club Soul Restoration Class together in January.  We had such a great time going through the process together and when we found our there was a Part 2 to this class, we both immediately wanted to sign up.

Brave Girls Club had a contest in which they were giving away two FREE Soul Restoration Part 2 classes away!  Though I tried to win it, I didn't.  But.... my dear friend, Kathy did!!!  Without giving it much thought after the contest, she had come to my studio with a few friends one day and proceeded to give me a certificate that GAVE ME one of the free classes she won!!!! EEEEEEEKKK!!!! I was sooooooo happy and soooooooo surprised!!! I think I read it three times before it hit me that it said Soul Restoration Part 2!!!!  I missed the whole 2 thing!!!  I was confused but when it finally set in my brain, I was in shock!  So, this was a thank you card for my dear friend who I again will be taking another wonderful journey with!! Thank you soooo much, Kathy, again!

My card today uses Gina K Designs' Pure Luxury Cranberry Tart then layered on some Sweet Corn.  I added some DP I found in  my stash that had some pretty yellow flowers in the corner and another piece that coordinated with the Cranberry Tart.  Then I added another piece of the Sweet Corn in the middle of the card after I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirl embossing folder.

I ran two pieces of lace down each side the embossed Sweet Corn.  My bird image came from the Stamp TV Kit, "Springtime Silhouettes"... STILL a HUGE favorite of mine!!!  I gave it some depth by adding it with Pop Dots.  I also added a flourish of self-adhesive pearls to the tail end of the bird.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!! *smile*

Scrap a Card!!

Do you save your scraps??? Do you see a piece like this pink one and think... "Ohhhh now THAT would look nice on the front of my card!" ???? Well, do you??? Today, I want to show you how my off-centered hole on a scrap piece made my card complete and what's better... no one would EVER know it was there!!!

Simple!!  Add a piece of card stock over the top!!!  Use the top and bottom as the borders... no one can see the "half circle" that was also punched out of that pink piece of card stock.  And now.... my finished card....

My card began with Pure Luxury Bubblegum card stock.  I added the layer of White and some DP I found in my stash.  THEN... that "holy" piece!  Another piece of the white and "presto chango" no one even knows!!! I stamped my flowers from the "Garden Silhouette's" set using the "kissing technique" with the "Timeless Textures" stamps.  I added my self-adhesive rhinestones to the center of each flower using my Copics to color them to coordinate.  I added my ribbon and the sentiment at the bottom along with a couple rows of rhinestones to the corners.  Done!  And..... nope.... that circle and a half on the Bubblegum Pink doesn't even come into play on the card!

Next time you look at your scrap pile, grab something that you wouldn't even consider using on a card and try your hand at "camouflaging" it.  You'd be surprised what you can come up with.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *smile*

Oh How I LOVE that Man of Mine....

Yes, I'm at it again with Theresa Momber's set, "Follow Your Dreams".  AND... once again... I couldn't resist making a card for that wonderful man I married.  :-)

I started with Pure Luxury Moonlit Fog.  I layered on Black Onyx, then White and another layer of Black Onyx.  I used a layer of the AWESOME new Echo Park Be Mine paper.  I stamped my image on White using Memento Ink in London Fog, and cut it out using my Labels 8 Nestabilities.

I sponged around the Nestie before removing it in Angel Pink and stamped my sentiment in Rose Bud.  I added a few buttons at the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *smile*

Monday Inspiration with Carolina!

Good morning everyone!!!  Today Stamp TV is taking a new direction... making a bit of a change to the norm.  (We're cool like that... always mixing it up!  *smile*)  The Gina K Designs Design Team will be hosting the Monday and Friday challenges that Gina normally did for Stamp TV.  Gina will still be taping and sharing a new "technique" challenge on Wednesday, but the Design Team will be mixing up the Monday and Friday challenges for you!!  How fun!!

Today, Carolina Buchting is leading us straight into an Inspiration Challenge!  Here is the photo Carolina gave us to work with.

When I saw this picture, the first things I noticed was the pink and yellow flowers AND... my thought was... what a GORGEOUS celebration setting this would be!!!  Thus, my card uses "Perfect Pennants" by Tami Mayberry and also a set of the flowers from the Stamp TV Kit, "Springtime Silhouettes" by Gina K Designs.

My card began with Pure Luxury Lemon Drop.  I stamped my pennant images on White in Vivid,  Lemon Ice and Tea Rose and then mounted it on some Bubblegum Pink card stock.  To the right on the Lemon Drop card stock I stamped my image again in the Vivid inks but in doing so used the Shadow Technique that Gina shared with us on Stamp TV.  HERE is the link to that technique.

I hope you play along with Carolina's Inspiration Challenge.  I think it's a beautiful setting and can't wait to see all the different views taken from the picture!  Have fun and be sure to post your creation in the Stamp TV Gallery and use the tag STVMONCB1 to be sure you're entered into the drawing for a FREE stamp set your choice from Gina K Designs valued at $23.95.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *smile*

Pink Branches

Happy Sunday everyone!  I am again using Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Branching Out" from Gina K Designs and I LOVE that this card looks so peaceful.  I mean, it IS Sunday and what better portrayal is there for a Sunday than just peace?!!

I started my card with Pure Luxury Sweet Corn card stock.  I added a layer of Bubble Gum pink and then  a layer of the Bright & Grundy Dots digital paper.  I stamped my image on the Bubble Gum pink in Vivid Ink, Tea Rose, and added the flowers in Lemon Ice ink.  LOVE how they look so transparent.  I cut out my image using the Circle Nestabilities and mounted it on of the Scalloped Circle Nesties.  I then used Pop Dots to mount them both on the front of my card.  I added a strip of the White card stock across the bottom and again the Bubble Gum pink then my stamped images.  I added self-adhesive rhinestones to both the flowers in the circle and the strip along the bottom and used my Copic markers to color them yellow.

I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!!! *smile*
