I'm a Soccer Mom!!!! Eeek....

Oh my.... I never thought I'd say those words.  Never.  And so it begins!!  My daughter has decided she will join soccer this Spring... (Uhhh IF it ever comes!).  I knew my son wasn't much of a "ball player" after his few short lived years of baseball.  He had a coach who made him, and ONLY him, do laps.  Though he was only 4, HE noticed and didn't like it.  The coach said he was the slowest on the team.  Well.. he was also the heaviest on the team.  But... as I "calmly" explained to the coach... "Babe Ruth didn't run fast either... h never had to!!".  Sad as well because although he DID run slow and was he heaviest... he was a switch hitter... he could bat left or right handed.  And the coach used that when he needed, but because he ran slow he was singled out.  This mom didn't like that and neither did he.  He refused to play ball ever again after that.  So... never did I suspect my baby girl would want to get involved in any kind of "male dominated" sport.  But hey... equal rights is everywhere and certainly her generation never had to deal with that.  And... now... I'm a soccer mom!!! Ha!!

Of course, Soccer Marci was the perfect stamp from LaLa Land Crafts.  The DP I used was perfect because it had a wonderful "calendar" print which I used as the background.  It comes from the Teresa Collins pack, "Memories".  I colored my image with Copics and cut her out before mounting to the card.  My sweet butterflies and "Play", "Enjoy This"  adhesives are from Heidi Swapp.

My card was my creation for The Outlawz, Twisted Thursday challenge sample a few weeks back.  The twist was to make it a sports theme. I hope you stop by The Outlawz challenge site for a new challenge every day with prizes to be won!!!  Can't beat that!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great Tuesday.  I have a FULL schedule myself today and I don't see much time to create until possibly Wednesday morning.  Until then... *HUGS*

If you are just joining us on the hop, you are going to want to start back at the beginning of the hop list which can be found at the end of this post!

I used C.C. Designs, "Sweet Pixies Beautiful Lucy" for my project.

I created this little "book" which I cut using my Silhouette Cameo and colored my image with Copic markers.  I cut her out and mounted her on the box. It's kind of hard to see in the picture and I didn't have very good lighting the day I took them but there is a bit of glitter on her wings.  These image are so fun to color and adorable as well.

Here's a shot showing the "book" dimensional side.

On the inside I made some accordion pages that I plan to scrapbook and add pics of my daughter in.  Just a little treasure for her to keep full of my favorite photos of her.

Now, onto the giveaways!  We have a couple awesome prizes up for grabs!

Just little somethings...

Today I'd like to share a couple little projects I created for the Paper Nest Store.  The first is using "Miss You Ellie".

I happen to be married to a retired Navy guy and if there's one thing I know for sure is he did a lot of reading on his down time while he was on active duty.  I decided to made a small magnetic book marker with this cute image.  And it has to be doubly sweet if you happen to send it to your favorite serviceman FROM his sweet girl, right?  I love this idea and if my hubby was still in the service, I KNOW he'd adore this book marker and treasure such a gift.

If you've followed my blog, you've seen this layout/design before.  I made a notebook for my son awhile back but decided to make a smaller version as well.  I did this mostly for the Paper Nest Store to display at their next show and later in the store so if it looks familiar you know why. Ha! The image is, "Steven's Clarinet".

This also shows how awesome digital images are to work with.  I made my son's book about four times this size and in doing so, the image was much larger.  This is a small pocket spiral and I believe the image size I printed was 3" x 2".  LOVE being able to make it just the size I need!  Since I did this book the same as my last, I won't list the copic markers I used again on this post.

I hope you get a "little" inspiration from my posts and as always, I truly appreciate your stopping by and love hearing your comments!  Have a great day!!! *HUGS*

Believe....

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  Today I wanted to share  card with you I made using the Brown Bag Kraft Paper.  This is AMAZING paper and, if you didn't know...it comes in several colors!!!  I used the Blueberry Brown on my card above.

To really get the full affect of the kraft showing through on my card, I spritzed it with water a bit then crumpled it up in my hand.  I flattened it out then used my heat tool to dry it completely.  Just to add a bit more grunge to it AND to show the kraft underneath, I lightly sanded it across the top until I go the desired kraft showing.

I LOVE this paper and not only can you leave it flat and scuff it up a bit with sand paper and crumple it up to add texture, you can also run it through an embossing machine and run your sand paper over the embossing area to show the texture created.

I haven't used this paper in quite some time and I can honestly say it is one of my favs and I will definitely be using it again soon!!  I had forgotten how fun it was to create with it.  Give it a try and I be you'll be hooked in no time as well.

My card today uses "Pint Sized Love" from the Saturated Canary.  I stamped her on Cryogen paper and colored her with my copics.

I've been doing lots of practicing on hair coloring lately and I was really happy with how this one came out. Here's a close up... what do you think???  I'm open to all the help I can get. LOL

I hope you have a great day and remember to give all the papers from the Paper Temptress a try.  You never know what could bring on just the inspiration you need!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *HUGS*

It's a Bird? It's a Plane? Noooo It's SUPER Frog!!!

Oh yes... I DO love my frogs! LOL  Or toads.  I know my dear friend, Bette, would NOT be happy with me because apparently, there is CLEARLY a difference.  Ha Ha  Well... I don't care... frogs are frogs are frogs to me! Hee Hee

I made my adorable frog for the CMC challenge, Anything Goes with using bugs or reptiles as the twist.  My froggie is "Elvin the Toad" from Digital Delight.  Ya ya.. it's a toad! Ok Ok... Hee.

I colored him with my Copic markers and couldn't resist buggin out his eyes a bit more.  I mean, come on... he's in LOVE!!!! Ha Ha

I added my sentiment from words in Carolyn King's set, "Stamp it Big!" from Gina K Designs.  Funny thing is... when I stamped the first part, under the frog (toad), "you make me" I read it wrong and thought it said... MADE... and I thought... ummm DARN!  But hey... it worked, right??? LOL

There's still a few days left in this challenge so if you'd like to add your entry, please do!!  Our next challenge will go up on Friday evening, March 15th so if you want do join this one, get hoppin! LOL  Oh I'm so cracking myself up here today!!  Forgive me... I can't help myself, it's been a long night for me to even think of writing a post was crazy! LOL

But as always... I DO appreciate your stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!!!!  *HUGS*

"E" for Emily...

I'm apparently in a La-La Land mood! LOL  I think this is the third or fourth image from La-La Land Crafts that I've colored today.  But quite honestly, it seems every theme I'm working with or project I need to do, La-La Land has an image that works perfectly!!  Can't beat that, right???

My project for created for MarkerPOP!'s 3D Thursday.  Today I'm sharing a quick and fun 3D project which I made for my daughter.  Yep.. for Emily!  My daughter is never much of a "girlie girl" and so sometimes... I get a little devious and inflict a little "mom's wishes" on her.  Hee Hee  One way I do this is by using HER favorite color!  Tada!!! She rarely tells me she doesn't like something if I hit her with some green!! LOL

I decided to use my favorite machine... my Silhouette Cameo to create this awesome letter "E" for her to display on her ONLY part of her room that is "girlie"... her shelves filled with Holiday Barbie's.  It's the one thing my hubby and I have gotten away with every year since she was born... getting her the newest Barbie for the year.

I always dreaded doing 3D projects until I got my Cameo and now.. well.. the possibilities are endless.  I used one of my favorite La-La Land Craft stamps, "Dress Up Marci".  I don't think there was ever a time (still isn't) that MY clothes and jewelry are ever something my daughter can resist going through.

Of course, I used my Sketch Copics to color her in after stamping her on Cryogen paper.  I cut her out and mounted her onto the "E".  A few little pearls and some Prima flowers and a quick bow with an added Webster bling in the middle finish off my "E". Of course, the sentiment is exactly what I use to sing her to sleep with when she was tiny.  :-)

And I'm happy to report, the trick worked... she LOVED it and couldn't wait to put it up on her shelf.  I hope you have a wonderful day and as always, we appreciate your stopping by and making MarkerPOP! part of your favorite stops for inspiration and crafting supplies!  *HUGS*

BIG Friends....

Happy Wednesday!!!  I'm so so glad it's Wednesday... I think. LOL  Ok, wait... on second thought.. it just dawned on me... ya... I have a TON of things to do again today! LOL  Wow, for a moment there I thought... "ahhhh a day of rest".  Pfffft... just what I get for thinking, huh?  Normally, it's a day that the kids get home early from school and not much else is happening.  But... as it turns out, I have to take my hubby to therapy, then head off to daughter's school for her conference and then head out to take her to drum lessons.  What was I thinking??? Oy!  Oh well... it seems tomorrow will be my "day of rest". LOL

I was thinking how Carolyn's last stamp set, "Stamp It BIG!" is truly just a wonderful set for making those cards you want just to write a small message in or an easy "thinking of you" card.  I started with Pure Luxury Bubble Gum Pink and then layered it with some Black Onyx which I ran through my Cuttlebug and embossed with Square Lattic embossing folder from StampinUp.  I used the Layering Weight White to stamp the patterned squares and added the "Friends" over the top.  I used the tiny flowers to make "buttons" and added them on top.

I know I'll be using Carolyn's set often and I can't wait to make a "set" of these "note cards" as gifts and in my scrapbooking pages.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you have a "relax" day, think of me and pray nothing creeps up on my day tomorrow because I can sure use one free day this week.  It's been a few busy weeks in a row for me and I'm ready to "veg out!".  ;-)  *HUGS*

Thanks In Style...

Today I'm sharing some awesome paper and an awesome stamp set!  My sweet friend, Carolyn King's stamp set released at Gina K Designs last month is one of my all-time FAVORITES ever!!!!  "Stamp it BIG!" is perfect for a CAS card and... I can't wait to use them in my SMASH books and Project Life book!

And... for the paper!!  Oh yes... another TWO favs from the Paper Temptress!!!  I truly love working with Parchment paper and as you can see below... it tears so nicely and has the best fibers to make any card look wonderfully classes and expensive!!  The other paper I adore is the Gold Linen!!

I tried to get a close up so that you can see how nice the fibers look after tearing on the Parchment and though it was a bit difficult, you can see to the left the shimmer to the Gold Linen.  Both just awesome when you need a bit more formal look to your card.

My card also features one of favorite ribbons as well, "Pure Luxury Gold Lined" also from Gina K Designs.

Put all these wonderful products together and you can't help but get one classy, stylish thank you card that I am sure someone will love to get!!  I'm not big on CAS cards but I admit, even I love the rich look that these items added together created!

I hope you have a great Tuesday!  I am off early this morning with my daughter's 5th grade band members heading to my son's high school for the Band Extravaganza!  They are gathering all the band members from the 5th graders through 8th graders on the south side and putting on one heck of a show for them!  I've heard about this for years since my son started going when he was in 5th grade.  They really WOW the kids and get them all psyched up hoping they continue with their instruments and eventually join the high school band when they arrive.  It was one of Steven's favorite times and now that he's a part of the show, he's even more thrilled to have his sister attend her first!  Anxious to see what all the hype is myself.  Hee Hee

I'm pretty happy that both my kids adore music and I'm even prouder when they do a fabulous job at their concerts and recitals and judgings.  Steven celebrated his 10th year of piano, 7th year of clarinet and 2nd year of saxophone this year.  Emily played piano for two years (she decided she didn't care for it as much) and is currently on her 2nd year of drums and 2nd year of trumpet.  They both seem to be "naturally gifted" (if there is such a thing) to playing instruments because they RARELY practice and when they are judged, they never cease to amaze me with getting blue and red ribbons every time!  I'm sure they got all that talent from me. Hee Hee

Thanks for stopping by and I'll hopefully get some good pictures from Band Extravaganza to share tomorrow! ;-)  *HUGS*

Just a Note.... with Pride!!!

Today I'm sharing a very special image from The Paper Nest called... "Steven's Clarinet".  And I will share a secret... this image was drawn for my son, Steven.  Woot!!!  Can you imagine how happy he is to have it named for him??  Christine was gracious enough to draw this adorable image of Steven playing his clarinet as I was never able to find one.  Now I've seen several girls playing one, but never a boy!  Thank you, dear Christine!!!  We BOTH love it!!!

I decided to make something that Steven could use. a "Note" book. Hee Hee  I colored my image with copic markers after printing it on Cryogen Paper.  Both the dotted DP, Double Dot Very Vintage  and the music note, DP are from Bo Bunny.  The bottom border is from the new Teresa Collins, He Said, paper pad.

Here's a closer shot of just the image.  I LOVE it!!!

I hope your week is a good one.  I seemed to have lost a week and gained a week all in the span of a couple days.  It was definitely a busy one last week and this one seems to not show much of a let up!  My hubby has therapy today, then I have a Spring Concert to attend in which Steven will be playing his clarinet with his high school band... then I go with Emily's school to attend Band Extravaganza at Steven's high school on Tuesday (they do this every year and all the 5th thru 8th graders come to the local high school and they put on a HUGE show for the kids who play instruments now in those grades to encourage them to join the high school band when they get there).  Then it's back to therapy on Wednesday with my hubby and drum lessons for Emily that night.  Then Thursday will be piano lessons for Steven after school and Friday he has clarinet AND saxophone lessons after school.  Nope... no time for momma to be sick which is PROBABLY why I was such a mess last week.  My head was definitely NOT attached to my body! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and as always... I appreciate your comments and your putting up with my during my husband's rehab.  It certainly has put a strain on us all but he is doing wonderfully and if you can handle my missing a post now and then, I truly appreciate your understanding.  *HUGS*
