Wagon of Fun....

So I've decided to post this card even though I am STILL struggling with fixing this crazy ribbon that I stamped "Happy Birthday" on.  LOL  I've done it four times now and for some odd reason, I can't keep it from blurring  Now I've read the trick on using the "embossing" powder bag on your ribbon before you stamp but for some reason mine is not working.  OY!!!  So... those of you who stamp on ribbon regularly, shoot me a note and tell me what I'm doing wrong... please.

My card was created using Melanie Muenchigner's "Beyond Baskets".  I LOVE the new "containers" to add her basket toppers to!!  I started my card with Pure Luxury Red Hot and added a layer of Black Onyx then some Little Boy Blue.  My DP is from the Patterned Paper Pack "Hello Sunshine".  I colored my images with Copic markers and added a line of self-adhesive rhinestones to resemble a flag pole and my ribbons.

Now, if you have a good technique to help me with ribbon stamping, please leave me a comment or shoot me an e-mail.  I am always willing to learn more and it seems I USE to be able to stamp on them with no problem.  Maybe it's my ink???

I've had one BUSY BUSY weekend!!  My son's high school marching band performed at the State Marching Competition and got a Superior rating of 1!!! They did that at 1:00 PM Saturday... then... at 9:00 PM they performed again at the Mid-Iowa Marching Competition!!  We BARELY got to march, we had rain forecasted all day and though it stayed away for the first competition, we weren't sure we'd even get to march at 9 PM.  Last minute call, the band directors looked at us volunteering parents and yelled, "Plume 'em!".  With a chance of rain, they didn't want to add the plumes until they thought they'd get to march without a chance of the rain ruining them.  AND.. they are all feathers tied together with a metal rod... not a good combination with lightening a possibility either!  Oy!  They persevered and actually got to march the whole program!!  We immediately withdrew the plumes and the kids headed to the buses to take off their band jackets and leave their instruments so they could come back to watch the rest of the Class 4A schools march.  Two schools went and the rain came!  With only two schools left, sadly, the competition was called off.  We will know sometime this week how they did.  With only three of the schools able to compete in our class we are praying we got first place! Of course!!  ;-)  Fingers crossed!!  I am looking forward to a less busy week since it IS my second week of real retirement.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabulous Monday!!  *HUGS*
