Make a Wish & Blow!

Do you remember those wonderful carefree days as a child? When you'd walk out into a field and grabbed those white, puffy, soft-looking, DEAD dandelions??? LOL Well.. they WERE dead! But honestly... what did you do? Somewhere, somehow, someone showed us/told us, "If you make a wish and blow on the dandelion and you blow ALL the puffs off, you'll get your wish!" Well... first, I don't think I EVER blew all those puffs off... EVER! And secondly, I have no clue if I ever got my wish either. I didn't have a memory then either! LOL The "puff" is from Gina K's, "Many Wishes" and was featured as her "Free with Three" set. The offer is over for that set now, but she offers a new one every month so don't forget to check it out. You CAN still buy the "Many Wishes" set now though, in case you missed it when it was free. My monkey, love those eyes... hee hee... isn't he cute?? Is from Melanie Muenchinger's, "Just so Hippy" set. This little fella is so versatile. He can be holding just about anything in that hand. Hmmm... now imagine if a GUY did this and he put a REAL diamond ring in that monkey's hand??? WOOO WEEE How cool would that be??? LOL Sorry, daydreaming! Hee Hee I think I'm loving this teal and brown look. Seems I have done a few cards with it lately. Must be my color "habit" for the week. I get those now and then and think... "Ugh... I've done this color 20 days this week... move ON already!". By the way, my little "wish monkey" was for my father-in-law's birthday. He just loves getting my hand-made cards and since they live an hour away and he's not in the best shape for traveling, I always get the cutest thank you e-mails from him. My husband goes over every Monday to spend time with him and so most often I can't go because I'm working. But he never fails to send a note of thanks even if he's not feeling well, he remembers later to send it. It's Monday again so I'll have plenty more to post this week. My Sundays seem to be a good day for stamping. I think it has something to do with the washer and dryer being close by. LOL Hope your weekend was relaxing and fun and you're ready to start a fresh new week! *smile* Signature

Simply Amazing!

I had been wanting to play with the cute little seal from Melanie Muenchinger's, "Jumping for Joy" for a long time but every time I picked him up... nothing worked out right. So, I tried to go simple for this card. I used more of that wonderful "Jersey Shore" digital paper that Gina K once again gave to us for FREE!! I LOVE this print... it just goes so well with all my summer stamps and any stamps that require water like this fella did! I used the "perch" for the seal as a basketball sorta hoop by turning it upside down and cutting off the side. My basketball and ummmmm...what is that thing called... I know... I know.. "megaphone??" is that right??... Ohhhh YOU know!, of course, came from Melanie's, "Sporty Accessories" set. This set is definitely a "must-have" if nothing more than for all the various sports it represents. You will be set for any sport fan with this set... I don't think she left anything out!! I put my seal on Pop Dots to give the illusion that he was actually jumping out of the water. Hope you are having a fun-filled Saturday!! I'm heading to the lake for our bi-annual Association Meeting. Signature

Peachy Pink!

Today's card is made for a StampTV Color Challenge issued by Theresa Momber to make a card using peach, ivory and pink (if we wanted) and any other neutral color. I LOVE peach and I LOVE pink so this was one I HAD to do!! One of my favorite digital papers was one Gina K gave to us FREE called, "Peachy Keen". Gina is one of the most generous people I've ever met and she always has nothing but the best in her store, but she GIVES us some of the best FREEBIES too!!! What an angel she is. This paper was a "no-brainer" for this contest. I stamped out the iris from Gina's first StampTV kits called, "Elegant Flowers". I colored them in with my Copics and added a touch of pink on the edges. I also sponged the pink around the embossed Nestability edges. My butterflies are punched out of vellum and before I punched them I embossed them with white embossing powder using another one of Gina's set called, "Tropical Flowers". My "Fabulous Friend" stamp and the oval punches are from SU. I used the Ruched paper from The Paper Temptress. I LOVE this paper, it is so thick and strong and full of fiber which makes it look and feel like cloth. I hope you have a good day... the weekend is next so relax, enjoy some sun and if you get a chance, have some fun with a friend. *smile* Signature

MY Wild Thing!!

You ever do a card with a specific purpose intended?? Like WHO you were going to give it to... or in what "perspective". I started out doing this card thinking I would some day give it to my husband. The inside states... "I think I love you!" Of course... how appropriate, right? Well, as it turns out, this card won't be for my husband. *evil grin* Why you ask? Who else would get a card such as this? Read on! My card was done using Melanie Muenchinger's, "Cuddles and Hugs", set. Of course, the "Wild thing" and inside wording are also included in this wonderful set. I didn't think I'd do to well at coloring "fur" but... I decided not to fret about that and just do it. In deciding to "go for it"... I did forget to color in their noses... hee hee. I think they are albino now! LOL The ribbon I used was initially purchased for a "dog" wall scrapbook I did but I figured paw prints are paw prints, right? My brads are from Gina K Designs, but I can't say if they available anymore. Guess you'll just have to hop on over to the site and see for yourself, ehh? *smile* For being a pretty easy card to do... it started out being sooooooo difficult! I wanted to add a "metal" background and my metal was NOT cooperating! First, it was all bent... so I embossed it. Then, it was crooked... so I cut it. And... after I finished cutting... I realized... not ANY side was straight... AFTER I had glue on it and was trying to put it on the cover. Grrrrr. Needless to say... that just went into File 13!!! So here's whatcha got, folks. Now... the reason I changed the idea of giving it to my husband??? While... at work yesterday, my husband stopped by... as he always does on Thursdays when he gets back to town... and was looking thru the cards on my desk. This was one of them. He saw and said... "Hmmmm..."... then started rummaging through his wallet. After a bit I asked him what he was looking for and he said.. "THAT picture!" He had come around my desk and was then facing my computer and saw my StampTV picture I had on the screen. It's me, obviously, and my daughter, Emily. He said.. "Now, doesn't that look just LIKE this card?" I smiled and said, "Yes.. you're right. And... you know.. she IS my WILD thing!" Ha Ha I think I will wait a few more years, but... I will hold this card back and give it to her when she's old enough NOT to be upset that I think she's such a "wild" one in my mind. And her dad's mind, for that matter. LOL Gave me a whole new perspective on this stamp. Thanks, honey! Have a good day and hug YOUR "wild one" today! *smile* Don't forget to enter a comment under the Summer Birthday & Blog Candy post a few items down. I know you want to win a FREE Gina K Designs stamp of your choice!! Signature

What Would I DO Without Lee!! *grin*

Today I did a card in honor of Lee Murphy. Lee, a sweet thing over on StampTV, had to explain to me what a CAS card was. Now, I had seen a CASE card (copy and share with everyone)... but I was lost when someone told her she made a nice CAS card. Sooooo I thought... at the time... this was a "preview" of a new stamp set. Surely Lee didn't copy a card by someone else. LOL NOT that it wouldn't be acceptable to use someones design... but for something as BIG as a Preview Party... I knew she wouldn't do such a thing. *wink* So... I had to know. Lee informed me it's simply... it's a "Clean and Simple" card. Well now... ya learn something new every day, huh? So I said to myself, "Self... is there such a thing as a CAS card in my "portfolio"?" Well, why take the time to find out when pffft I can just MAKE one NOW!!! LOL So this is my version of a clean and simple card. I hope that I did it right? LOL I should say a version of what I THINK is a clean and simple card. I used Gina K's "Eclectic Summer" stamps and my ribbon was from the same kit (well the white was)... the black checked I simply glued down the middle. I rather like how it turned out. On the inside I simply put a "thank you" and figured someday I'd use it for... well... HOPEFULLY my hubby. LOL Wouldn't want to send it to a boyfriend now would I? Hee Hee Ok... well... maybe I would since my daughter is always telling me, "Mom... do you know that dad says he's your BOYFRIEND?" LOL I had a hard time photographing this card. Not sure why but it just ended up blurry no matter what setting I used on my camera or what lighting I did or didn't have. Honestly, the worse lighting I could use was the best pic. Sorry about that. Who knows, maybe I just need B&W film?? Hope you enjoyed the card and Lee... here's to you girlfriend! * * ** * ** ** *** * * (glitter sprinkle) *smile* Signature
