With all this talk of Christmas, it really makes you realize you just can hardly NOT start thinking of gifts. Gina K offered up a cute little gift card set on one of her videos last week and showed how to box them up and have a cute simple gift to give this year.
I didn't exactly follow her card design, but I did keep them simple and easy so that they too could mail easily. What a wonderful gift for teachers, or anyone you know who loves to send cards.
My set includes two "thinking of you/friendship", two "thank you" card and two "happy birthday" cards. I will include6 envelopes and put them in one of the acrylic boxes that Gina has at her store and tie a pretty bow around it all. Simple, fast and definitely a nice gift to receive.
I know I will make a few more of these for my kids teachers as they are always sending a note of thanks home for one thing or another.
On that note... I MUST tell you.... I had such a miserable, confusing week this week with my doc changing my medicine. I was just either on edge... dizzy... or weepy!! It was awful. Well, one particular day, I was screaming to high heaven at my kids on the way to school. After I got to work and after I called my doctor (STILL in tears), I went to see him. Needless to say... he switched my meds and Friday I was back to normal. BUT... later in the afternoon that day, I KNEW I had to call my kids even though they were at school to apologize and explain why I was that way that morning. They both, of course, still love me and forgave easily. I did explain to my daughter's teacher why I was interrupting her day and that I just really needed to apologize to her. She was very understanding and said it was not a problem at all. Then today... I went to pick her up at school and out she came with a beautiful red rose surrounded by baby's breath and a nice vase. "Mom...", she said, "Mrs. E.J. got this for me to give you to because you had such a bad day yesterday." Awwwwww *sniff sniff* How sweet was that???? Her teacher is just awesome and I am so grateful Emily gets the benefit of such a wonderful woman in her life.
I think I have to make a very special thank you myself now. *smile*
Have a great Saturday and maybe I can share that card tomorrow.
