CMC in the Pink and New DT Members!!!

Have you ever wanted PINK hair??? LOL  Well I HAVE!!!  And honestly I've wanted PURPLE hair!  Yeah... what can I say... I have a little bit of the goofy teen still in me!  And nothing wrong with that, I imagine. LOL  Especially since I haven't acted on it! LOL  BUT... I certainly have nothing stopping me when it comes to COLOR images with PINK hair!!!  AND... it certainly helped when the CMC Challenge this week was to use pink!!! My image today is a Saturated Canary, Color Me Wonderful... I certainly tried to do that!! Hee Hee I love all of the Saturated Canary images because they lend themselves to so many different arrays of coloring... antiqued, fun and soft natural coloring as well.   I used the Simple Stories, Snap Life, paper, which I adore!! It has so many fun comments and quotes on it and most often I find I don't even need a sentiment.  My background paper most often has exactly what I want to say on it.

My card today was created to join in the celebratory mood at CMC!!!  It's a HUGE shining star in my life and I LOVE being a part of it!!  I used the Saturated Canary image, "Harley and Haley".. aren't they adorable in their tutus?!!  I tried to get a close up so you can see all their "glittered" tutu too!! Hee  My Copic colors are listed below.

Copic Color Card Reference....

Do you ever use the Copic Coloring Chart when deciding what colors to use on your images?  I ALWAYS do!!  Well... if you do, you know this is a full 8.5 X 11 piece of card stock.  I pull it out for EVERY card I do and look at every single color when deciding what I want.  AND... then I have sheets of paper with different hair colors on them and color blends, etc.  Enough, already!!!  I decided to take my little pack of index cards and put them all together!! My color image is by the Saturated Canary, "Ruffles the Clown".  

I started by cutting all the color families on my Copic Chart and pasting them onto my cards.

I added tabs to coordinate with the color family.

Then I added pages that showed hair color and skin color combinations.

And last, I added cards that showed the different combinations of colors I like to use together.  I tabbed all the cards for ease of flipping through.

Now I have this neat, organized and small compact booklet that I can take anywhere (even throw in my purse), sit beside me as I color and it's all in one place and quick.  No more messy pages of colors, no more dirty color chart with bent up corners!!

There is a lot of space left on each card to add more combinations and even extra pages in case I find combinations I want to keep track of later, like... colors I use for trees.. favorite flower colors... etc.

I hope this has given you some tips on how you might organize your color charts and choices.  It certainly has made mine a lot less messy and a whole lot more accessible!!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!  *HUGS*

Today I'm sharing an image I colored from Saturated Canary, "Angels Among Us", which I posted for a previous Outlawz, Twisted Thursday Challenge.  I've done lots of cards lately and LOTS of coloring... trying to always get better, but not so much blog postings.  I apologize for that.  It seems with all the running and ACTUAL walking around I've done since hubby had his accident I'm pretty much at my exhaustion stage. LOL  I seem to get them created, photographed and sometimes... sometimes, even uploaded.  But to sit and write my post seems to be one of those things I always did at night once everyone went to bed.  Well, needless to say, at days end these days... I'm pretty much sitting with an idle engine.  LOL  So I am terribly sorry to you faithful followers who have been sticking with me and waiting patiently.  I'll make a better effort at it... and maybe... like tonight... I can get a minute to do it earlier!  Keep praying for me... I sure can use it! ;-)

I couldn't resist pairing up Theresa Momber's little bird image from her stamp set, "Birds and Blossoms".  I'm hoping you realize... it IS a silhouette.. I mean.. my sweet Saturated Canary image DOES have pink wings around her. Hee Hee

The beautiful bird cage was a die cut from MarkerPOP!, a Cheery Lynn Design, Bird Cage.  And those tiny sweet roses and crystal flowers ar from the Paper Temptress.

My sentiment is one I cut from SRM stickers which I like to use when I just can't find exactly what I want to use, I love their clear stickers and how I can mix and match with them.

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  Today I wanted to share  card with you I made using the Brown Bag Kraft Paper.  This is AMAZING paper and, if you didn't know...it comes in several colors!!!  I used the Blueberry Brown on my card above.

To really get the full affect of the kraft showing through on my card, I spritzed it with water a bit then crumpled it up in my hand.  I flattened it out then used my heat tool to dry it completely.  Just to add a bit more grunge to it AND to show the kraft underneath, I lightly sanded it across the top until I go the desired kraft showing.

I LOVE this paper and not only can you leave it flat and scuff it up a bit with sand paper and crumple it up to add texture, you can also run it through an embossing machine and run your sand paper over the embossing area to show the texture created.

I haven't used this paper in quite some time and I can honestly say it is one of my favs and I will definitely be using it again soon!!  I had forgotten how fun it was to create with it.  Give it a try and I be you'll be hooked in no time as well.

My card today uses "Pint Sized Love" from the Saturated Canary.  I stamped her on Cryogen paper and colored her with my copics.  

I've been doing lots of practicing on hair coloring lately and I was really happy with how this one came out. Here's a close up... what do you think???  I'm open to all the help I can get. LOL

Happy HUGS & KISSES Day!!!

 Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!  I hope you are enjoying your day and getting, but most importantly, SHARING some love!!!  In my world... it's my favorite part, sharing and giving love and putting smiles on faces.  :-)

Today I used a super cute image from the Saturated Canary, "Hugs and Kisses".  Not sure for how long, but right now she is only $2.00!!!

I stamped her on my Cryogen White card stock from the Paper Temptress.  I used the Solar White Thick Column paper as my card base.  I LOVE the added texture to the card this allows.  I then added a sheet of Mica/Metallic Punch card tock which I punched around the edges with a tiny heart border punch from StampinUp.  Then a layer of the Mica/Metallic Rose Quartz.

If you're a Silhouette Cameo lover like me, then you might recognize my lacy heart which I used the Punch card stock on as well.  Oh and the Valentine cuts are on sale at Silhouette also!! Go stock up for next year!! *wink*

This image was so much fun to color and I really love all the texture in her drawings.  Makes you really think about what colors to use where.

I hope your day is special and that you make many wonderful memories.  I have a feeling (since I DID write this last night), that I will be "resting" a bit and being taken care of.  Hubby whispered he had a secret and to not worry about planning dinner so we'll see.  ;-)

With him being "laid up", he DID ask me how he should "purchase" his Valentine's gift for me. LOL  Well now.. THAT was easy... AMAZON!! LOL  And I did get a couple things I wanted from Amazon which happened to arrive today!! Woot!  Plus I ran out and grabbed him a couple really comfy throw pillows (he said mine were totally uncomfortable for him to lay against on the couch) as part of my gift to him.  He was totally in love with that! LOL  But I too have a little extra something for him tomorrow to open and of course, my kids as well.

It was kind of funny in that when I went to grab them a few things for Valentine's I almost felt like I was doing Easter baskets!!!  WTH was I thinking??? I mean seriously, usually I crab them a heart of chocolates but something made me want to get the more than just candy and of course NOT as much as a full heart of it!  So they get a bit of sweets and some other fun treats.

Of Course "I" Sparkle!!! Hee Hee

As many of you know, I have been "nursing" my hubby back to health for the last couple weeks...   or, well, sheesh, I guess it's almost three weeks now!! Anyway... though I'm not REALLY giving any shots to him ;-)... I am doing most his running since both his legs were messed up in an accident.  When I saw this adorable little nurse from Saturated Canary, "Sparkle Nurse", I just couldn't resist making him a "Hey, I'm doing pretty good, huh?" card. LOL

I colored her with my Copic markers and printed her on Cryogen White paper from the Paper Temptress.  This is by far my FAVORITE paper for using with my Copics.  And honestly, all my paper except the DP is from the Paper Temptress.  I wanted to play with her Pop Tones papers. The two lighter shades of blue which I layered are Berrylicious and Blue Raspberry and I LOVE how they have soft difference in shades.  My navy blue card base is Incandescent "Blumarino", and I LOVE how it's just a perfect shade of navy.  Seems most I try photographs so dark it looks black and I LOVE how this one actually shows blue!

I added some "sparkle", of course, to my sweet nurse and around my sentiment. Hee

I can't wait to use more of the paper from the Paper Temptress' Pop Tones set... there are sooo many unique colors and I can't wait to pair them up with my Copics!

I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday.  I am planning to take a couple hours while hubby rests and head down to my son's high school to help with their Abraham Lincoln birthday celebration.  (Yes, he goes to Lincoln High School. *wink*)  Tomorrow is my daughter's Valentine's party at school so tonight we will be prepping and sparkling up her card box/bag (whichever she decides to go with).  Busy as always in the Gilliland home!!!

Awesome Chaos Organizer...

Have you seen the Recollections Creative Chaos Planner??? I am in love with mine!!  It has tons of bright fun pages, calendar pages, goals, favorites, contacts, etc. and you know I LOVE my colors!!!  This planner just makes you WANT to organize your life!!  This is how it looks when you buy it.

This is how it looks after I added MY bling to it...

I couldn't resist using one of my favorite Saturated Canary images, "Let It Rain" to the front, because for me... EVERY day could be a rainy day and I'd love it!!!  I colored her with my Copics and fussy cut her out then mounted her on top of a 4" doily.  Here she is up close, sporting my favorite color combo! :-)

Next, I added some 2" squares to label the year and covered it with a bit of Glimmer Mist.

A little bling and a affirmation written on the already printed tag and I think I'm ready for just about anything life throws at me this year!  ;-)

I find myself grabbing and remembering daily what I need to add to the calendar just because it's so fun and full of color!!!  You can get your book at Michaels along with some goodies to add inside and make your pages your style.  Think of it as a planner and SMASH book all in one!! I plan to, and have already, added a few pics tot he mix that I want to remember along the way.

Skating by...

Now I'm not saying this ISN'T a Christmas card... but... Winter is a season, right?  I mean.. you think I could still give it to someone?? Bwahahahaha.. WHAT am I saying??? I never mail out my cards!  Oy!  Sad but true.  But... I DO sell them so I guess I have plenty when the lady with the big purse comes knocking, right? LOL

My image is yet another fabulous Saturated Canary image, "Nikki".  I use to LOVE ice skating... until I got older and tried to "teach" my niece and proceeded to get my skate stuck in a crack on the pond and broke my wrist!!! No more skating for me!! LOL

My card base is Pure Luxury, Vibrant Violet and I added layers of Turquoise Sea and Wild Lilac then a layer of Lovely Lavender which I partially embossed with my Cuttlebug, Snowflakes, folder.  My sentiment is from Gina K Designs set, "Warm Woolen Mittens" by Becky Oehlers.

I don't plan to go skating anytime again soon NOR do I plan to go out in the cold for any kind of "fun".  Much to old for all that!!  But.. I don't mind taking the kids sledding... as long as I have my Kindle and my car running!! Ha Ha!

A Little Helper...

Happy New Years Eve everyone!!!  I know this is another Christmas card but I promise, it's my last. Hee  And, I couldn't help but look at this adorable Saturated Canary image, Spritz, and think of him as also "Baby New Year".  Right?? I just love his little tummy and big wide eyes!!

I threw a bunch of image, cut outs and die cuts onto this card because it's how I imagine a tiny little Santa helper seeing things.  Everything, all colors, here and there and everywhere!  ;-)

My card base is Pure Luxury Grass Green followed by some Red Hot.  I added several different pieces of DP I found in my stash.  The little "Sweet Holiday Memories" tag was also from some DP and I cut around the candy dish and popped it up on top of the other piece to add to the Christmas candy stash this little helper might have his eyes on.

I used my Spellbinders dies to add a few accents in Red Hot as well.  My image was printed on Cryogen from the Paper Temptress and colored with my Copics.

I hope you have a safe and happy New Year!  The kids, hubby and I are, as usual, having our annual New Years Eve "carpet picnic".  Lots of good munchies spread out on a blanket on the floor while we watch some of our favorite movies and jump now and then to NY to see the New Years brought in first by our east coast friends and family!
