Cherish....

Today I'd like to share with you a card I created for the Gina K Designs Release Party last week.  As always... Melanie Muenchinger never disappoints!  Once again she has added to the state flowers sets with "Stately Flowers 4"

My card base is Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White which I layered with some Red Hot and then added some Lemon Drop.  I used the Polka Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder on the white before adhering it to the Lemon Drop.  Prior to adding it to the Red Hot I cut out an opening using my Oval Nestabilities so that the red would show through both layers.

I colored my flower with my Copic markers and cut it out before adding inside the oval using Pop Dots.  My ribbon was run inside the oval and the outside edge of the yellow and white.  I added the sentiment on yellow and dotted it using my Inkssential's White Opaque Pen

I can't wait to see the next Stately set Mel designs... I am always amazed how much I learn about the different flowers she adds each time she adds to the series!

I hope you have a great Thursday.  I'm off to create a few designs and fill a few requests I've had for samples.  Thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS*

Gina K Designs May Inspiration Hop Day 3

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop!!! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of deeply etched, pre-cut Gina K. Designs stamps! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!! We have lots to see today so let's get started...

For my design today I usually start out with my DP and then decide on a coordinating card stock, embellishments, etc.  But as I was doing this one.. I looked at these awesome flowers and decided I wanted to do them in soft pastels.  So... instead of following my usual process, I stamped the flowers on Pure Luxury layering weight White after I used the Memento Markers to color them.  THEN.... I thought they really looked soft and like a water coloring.

So I just rounded the corners and mounted it on my card.  I just LOVE how soft, CAS and sweet this looks to me.  I just couldn't bring myself to do anything further to it!  Really... I think it's just a clean fresh card.  Hope you like it too!

There was a time when I would get freaked out thinking of using a set with NO images.  NOT anymore!!  I actually kind of welcome a set where the sentiment is the focal point.

My card today was created using Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender card stock as a base.  I layered on some Vibrant Violet and some of the yummy GK Patterned Paper Packs, "Parisian Garden"... one of my FAVS!  I then used my Circle Nestabilities to cut out the middle.  I use two sizes next to each other so I could cut the Vibrant Violet bordering circle as well.  And, of course, I added my sentiment on the inside which now can be seen from the front and is my focal point!

It was not hard for me to decide which image I wanted to work with from this set.  As a kid I bet I went through hundreds of these wonderful little windmills. LOL  I just loved them! And the brighter and flashy they were, the better! LOL

My card base is Pure Luxury Blue Raspberry.  I layered on some Grass Green then some DP from my stash.  I stamped my windmills onto some Lemon Drop and then paper pieced the windmill.  On the inner folds I added a little Diamond Stickles to the mix and a self-adhesive nail head to the middles.  Passionate Pink borders my sentiment which was stamped on White.

Yep... I still love seeing these in the stores and when my kids would get one... I'd HAVE to hold it a bit and wave it a few times. LOL  Nothing wrong with always keeping part of the "kid" in yourself!!

I think MY sea and Lee Murphy's sea would be soooo pretty with her pink turtles and my purple fish!!! :-)  I decided since I did some "regular" fish in my card I showed at the Release Party, I'd have some fun TINA fish to share today. Hee

My card base is Pure Luxury Lovely Lavender layered with some Vibrant Violet and then some of the fabulous GK Patterned Paper Pack, "Parisian Garden".  I added a bit more Vibrant Violet and then some more of the Patterned Paper, "Pool Side".  My images are stamped on white and colored with my Copic markers.  I sponged on some Memento Sky Blue ink around the edges and also stamped the tiny solid fish in LuLu Lavender.

Once again I decided to go against the norm.  I didn't want to do brown suitcases nor did I want to paper piece so... I went with greys and blues!!

My card base is Pure Luxury Black Onyx  layered with some Moonlit Fog and Smokey Slate.  My DP is from an older paper set that Gina use to carry.  I stamped my image on White and colored with Copic markers.  I used my Labels 7 Nestabilities.  I thought this would be a great cover for keeping memories of a vacation or any road trips you might, so I the Labels 7 was perfect for such a design.

Gina K Designs May Inspiration Hop

The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop!!! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of deeply etched, pre-cut Gina K. Designs stamps! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!!  So, let's get started.....

Melanie's set this month includes my very favorite flower, the carnation!  I had such a hard time deciding on a color since, of course, carnations come in EVERY color imaginable and if they don't... you CAN color them!!! Perhaps that's why I fell in love with them years ago!  I remember doing the food color trick as a Girl Scout and making mine blue! Ha!

I started with a Pure Luxury card base in Bubble Gum Pink layered with a bit of Passionate Pink.  I added some Gina K Designs Patterned Paper from the Petals and Wings set for a soft texture.  My image was colored with Copic markers and I cut it out using my Labels 4 Nestabilities.  I mounted it using Pop Dots and added a little bling to the mix.

I am sooo in love with this set and I had a VERY hard time not using it on EVERY single card I made for this release! LOL  Today I decided to showcase it using an image from Rupa Shevde's set, "Enjoy the Journey".

My card base is Pure Luxury Innocent Pink.  I layered it with some Dark Chocolate and added a layer of Gina K Designs Patterned Paper, "Sunshiny Day".  I added some pieces of Dark Chocolate.  My luggage was stamped on white and I paper pieced it using the Patterned Paper as well.  I stamped the tickets on the Innocent Pink and smaller ticket I paper pieced the border using the patterned paper.

Live the Fairytale with La La Land Crafts...

I am so very excited and honored to be guest designing for La-La Land Crafts this month!!!  I adore ALL the images from La-La Land and of course, Princess Marci is noooo exception!!!  This week the La-La Land Design Team is offering up designs that are "fairytale inspired".  If you know me at all... you know I am a HUGE Cinderella fan!!! So, it was only right I used Princess Marci to represent my sweet Cinderella.  :-)

I used Cryogen White Iridescent paper from the Paper Temptress for my card base.  I DO believe all things related to fairytales should be sparkly and pure and magical.  Ha!   I ran my card through my Vagabond and used the Seeing Spots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I punched the border using a Martha Stewart punch.  I colored my image using Copics and cut her out before adhering her using Pop Dots.

I stamped my sentiment and used my Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities to cut it out.  A few added Prima flowers and a little bling flourish to give off even more of my "magical" effect.  I added a few of the branch punches around my flowers, also from Martha Stewart.  Last, I added a sheer ribbon to the bottom and a slider heart I found in my stash.

I hope you enjoy seeing all the "fairtyale" creations made using La-La Land Crafts stamps and as always I'm happy you stopped by!!

Have a fabulous Friday... the weekend begins!!!  *HUGS*
