La-La Land Crafts' Marci is Celebrating!!

Ohhh it's GOOD to be queen!!!  The Design Team for La-La Land Crafts is sharing gorgeous birthday celebration cards today over at the La-La Land Blog site and today I am showcasing "Heart Balloon Marci".  Of course, what would a party be without balloons??!!!

My card started with Pure Luxury Key Lime and I added a layer of Bubblegum Pink.  I found the DP in my stash and added the bright colored paper.  From this I decided my Marci needed to be bright and cheery as well... I mean she IS the queen here!!  :-)  I colored her with my Copic markers and added Pop Dots before mounting her to the card base.  Marci is seated on the fabulous "Heart Chair" also from La-La Land Crafts. Oh and the little gift waiting to be opened by our queen is also included in the "Heart Balloon Marci" set.  My tags were from Tami Mayberry's "Ticket Trio".

If today is your birthday... go treat yourself to some lovely birthday cards from the La-La Land Design Team.  I'm sure you'll find a bit of  eye candy you'll just adore.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! *HUGS*

Memories Last Forever....

Today I'm sharing a card which my banker asked me to make for her for a couple weeks ago and she needed it the NEXT day!  Eeeek!  I rushed home to make her one and delivered it the next day at noon to her and totally forgot to photograph it!!  Sooooo... I apologize in advance for the poor quality photo as I DID, for some reason or other, take a pic of it on my iPhone.  But, sadly, I didn't get my Copic colors photographed that I used either.  Oy!  Rushing is not the best way for me to stay organized. LOL  On the flip side... the card was exactly what she asked for.  Her other customer's father had passed away and she wanted a card depicting a little girl with her dad and something that related not to her losing him... but her memories of him.  I'm happy so say she was thrilled with the image and sentiment I found to make the card.  All's well that ends well.  :-)  The image came from Mo's Digital Pencil, "Father and Daughter"

My card stock is a SU paper I used to match the DP I used from My Minds Eye, "Indie Chic Ginger".  I layered it up with some Pure Luxury Moonlit Fog and some Black Onyx.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added a little lace and a few flowers to finish it off.

I certainly hope her customer liked it as well as she did and it brought her a little happy memory of her life with her dad.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT Tuesday!! I'm going to be creating all day and playing a little piano in between.  :-)  *HUGS*

Here's MY tutorial:

I LOVE all things sparkly and bright and adding glitter is a fabulous way to get just that effect!!  But... did you know about the "Quickie Glue Pen"???? Yep.. that's what it's called.. no way I could make THAT up! LOL  With this pen... YOU control WHERE the glue and glitter go.  Even in the smallest or thinnest areas.  Let me show you how I did this card.

First... you'll want to make sure you color your image completely.  On my example I DID use colored glitter but.. I didn't want my entire image covered, so coloring is important.  Plus, if you miss an area with the glitter, you won't notice it at much if the image is colored.

Next I cut out my image because I wanted to mount on her a colored/DT papered background.

Now the Glue Pen.  It's just like an ink pen so using it is very easy.  You could easily write a name with this and glitter it as well.  Here's what the pen looks like.

You'll only "write" where you want the image to be glittered.  I started with her "shell top" and added a bit to her "hips" area.  Then... I went to just the areas of her tail I wanted to highlight.

If you look closely you can see the blue glue along the black lines of the area on her tail I used it on already.

Next, lay a heavy coat of glitter so as not to miss any glued areas.

Shake off the excess and continue through with the others areas you want glittered.  As you can see... the glitter/glue didn't cover much of my coloring which is what I wanted.  Just a bit of sparkle and a bit of color to accent the color already there.

And for a bit of added effect... I added a few lines to my background (to give it a bit of a glimmered water effect) by simply drawing a few lines here.
And here it is... all finished and glittered in only the spaces I want.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!  Enjoy the rest of the hop and remember to add your comments and add the links over at the Outlawz 2000th member area.

Added note:  HERE is a link to get your Quickie Glue Pen.  :-)

Have a GOOD Hair Day!!!

Oooohh La La... if MY hair looked like this.. I'd.. well.. never mind.. it never will! Ha Ha!  BUT...  you can certainly dream and... have a fun time looking at all the fabulous "hair" colored creations provided by the Color Me Creative Design Team who is challenging you this week to color up some hair!!! LOTS of hair!!! And show us your style!!!  The Design Team is using fabulous digi images by Crafts & Me so hop on over HERE to see what they have and join us for a GOOD hair day!!  ;-)

My image uses "Kissy Fish" by Hannah Lynn.  I started her with Pure Luxury Red Hot card stock and layered on some Sweet Mango.  I added another layer of Red Hot and used the Polka Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder to add a bit of texture.  My image was colored with Copic markers and I cut her out before adhering with Pop Dots.

A little tip about coloring images that you want to cut out that have small areas which can be a challenge to cut out... like the small areas between her hair.  Copic color it to match the background.  ;-)  That way you don't have to cut with an Xacto knife or take a chance on cutting more than you want with scissors.  Gotta love those Copics!!!

I'm hoping you have a great Saturday! I'm taking my kids to the Art Festival downtown today.  Sooo much crafty goodness to see and fun things to do!!  IF I make it home without some kind of inspiration then I KNOW my mojo is missing!  Not much I've been creating lately I've like so I'm hoping to jump start today and see what happens at the festival!! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!!! *HUGS*

Fun in the Sun with La-La Land Crafts...

It's Summer!!!!  Yesterday officially  marked the "first day of summer" here in the good ol' USA and what could be more fun than beating the heat La-La Land Crafts style!!!  Beach Marci is just about all my daughter lives for when summer hits!!  I swear the girl is part fish!!!  Today the La-La Land Crafts DT is sharing all those wonderful summer fun times with you over on the La-La Land Crafts Blog

My card began with Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion card stock.  I added a layer of Sweet Mango and some of the Echo Park Paper, "Splash".  I colored Marci with my Copic markers and cut her out before adhering her with Pop Dots.  I used a small corner of Kraft paper which I tore to make the "sand" where Marci left her flip flops! Ha!  A little bling to add to the water scene and a bright flower which doubles as my sun complete my card.

I hope you have lots of "fun in the sun" planned for your summer.  Hubby had to order a new pump for our pool and it FINALLY came yesterday!!!  He spent most of the morning getting it going and getting the pool all ready to go.  NOT that my daughter hasn't already been dying to jump in but sometimes lovely shipping time slows things down a bit.  Hopefully the larger pump we ordered for a replacement will mean less cleaning and more splashing!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS*

Sitting Here....

Today I am sharing a special card I made for a dear dear friend who is dealing with chemo and other health issues right now.  I apologize for blurring out what I wrote above the "sitting" area of my sentiment.  Just added a little "something something" we say to each other but that not everyone would appreciate seeing.  Ha!  ;-)  Just a little "southern" word she taught me.  :-)

My card uses the adorable "On the Pot Girl S" by Mo's Digital Pencil

I started my card with Pure Luxury Wild Dandelion and added a layer of the blue from the Carnival Card Stock Collection.  My DP is from the newest GK Patterned Paper Pack, "Hello Sunshine".  LOVE this bright colorful paper!! I colored my image with Copic markers and cut it out before mounting it with Pop Dots.  A few buttons and twine finish off my card.

I hope this cheers up my friend and makes her smile just a bit.  Chemo is no fun and when you have other issues involved it just seems to make them all seem even worse.  I pray she gets all the strength and patience she needs to get through all of it.  Of course, she has all my love and support and as many hugs as she needs.

I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday... the weekend is near!!  Thanks for stopping by!! *HUGS*

Get Your Baby Tickets!!

Hee Hee.... imagine those peeps who had 5, 6 and 7 kids at a time!!!!  "Admit One", I say... at a time! LOL  Today I am sharing a baby card I made using Tami Mayberry's newest set from Gina K Designs, "Ticket Trio".  I am sooo in love with this set!!! I swear I KNOW I could use it on every single card I make!!!  But, I suppose, everyone would get tired of seeing all my cards with a ticket on them. Hee

I made this for the release party this month and couldn't resist using the "admit one" stamp.  Cause honestly... I'd DIE if I had TWO babies at a time!! I feel for those who had many.. though I know they love them all just as much.. I'd have heart failure!! LOL

My card base is Pure Luxury Lemon Drop.  I added a smaller piece of the Lemon Drop and embossed it using my Heart Blocks Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I stamped my tickets on pastel card stock papers and my center ticket on white using a piece of DP which I paper pieced.  I used a border punch on the bottom white and added some self-adhesive pearls to the bottom

Today I'm going to be doing some crafting. It's been crazy busy at my house so I'm hoping to get a few cards done for a change.  Hope you're having  a crafty day as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *HUGS*

Happy Father's Day... And Son Day....

This year my son's birthday fell on Father's Day.  He didn't mind because we held a simple little birthday party for him after having dinner with my dad and hubby at my parent's house.  Though he's a good kid, I'm sure he would have postponed celebrating his day until today, there was plenty of time to celebrate both of them!  :-)

My card was made for my father, no doubt.  He has always been a fisherman and I loved this image from La-La Land Crafts, "Fisherman Luka" because he happens to be holding a cane pole!  The exact kind of pole my dad first took me fishing with!  :-)  And as the memories flood back...what's better than the fact that when he DID take me fishing, I always out-fished him. Ha!!!  My very first fish was so tiny yet I made him take it home, clean and it and my mom cooked it for me for dinner.  Woot! LOL OMGosh I couldn't have been more than a couple years old... yet I remember very vividly eating that fish and even where we lived at the time. Ha!  (They tell me I have a VERY good memory of life when I was little... wonder why I can't remember what I ate yesterday??? LOL)

My card base is Pure Luxury Sandy Beach layered with GK Patterned Paper, Pool Side which I distressed and added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, "Vintage Photo".  I added some Dark Chocolate and layered one a piece of White which I colored with my Brayer using Memento Summer Sky .  I sponged on some Paris Dusk for the horizon and some Cottage Ivy as my little grassy area Luka fished on.  :-)  The sign I drew myself and colored, along with Luka, using my Copic markers.  I added a couple self-adhesive nailheads to the sign and popped up Luka using Pop Dots.  The little pebbles are some I bought quite awhile back and have only a few left.  :-(

Of course I made my son a card but it was one I had done quite some time ago and was saving to give to him so it's been on my blog before.

Everyone had a great time and grilling out on a lovely day, hanging with friends and family was a great way to end the weekend.

I trust you spoiled your dads/husbands as well and also shared another day of memories.  As always, thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous Monday!!! *HUGS*

Dad's Rock!!!!

Well.. it's that time.. and it's only a heartbeat away!!! Father's Day!!!  Time to honor the men in our lives who are the strong ones... the brave ones... and even the "rockin" ones! Hee Hee  And, if you ask my kids... their dad is ALL of the above to them!  That makes me happy!  So to help honor those fabulous guys, La-La Land Crafts' Inspiration Friday DT is sharing our "For Dad" theme today.

My stamp is the adorably talented "Lil' Rocker Luka"!!  And how fun was it that my hubby has an electric guitar|??!! I added a few Tim  Holtz  bling accessories to the mix as well.  :-)

Today's card started with Pure Luxury Ocean Mist and I layered on a piece of Red Hot.  My DP is from Gina K's Patterned Paper Pack, "Red Carpet".  My music DP came from an old bunch of scraps I had in my stash.  I stamped Luka on white and colored him in with my Copic markers.  I added him to the card using Pop Dots for a bit more dimension.  My "tickets" are from Tami Mayberry's "Ticket Trio" set.

I hope you are inspired by all the La-La Land Craft DT's samples and I hope you make dad's day extra special.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to a fabulous weekend!! *HUGS*

A Little Crabby....

I have fallen in love with mermaids!!! And this one is NO exception!!! Asela Hopkins "Serena Mermaid" available at Hambo Stamps is so cute and I had sooo much fun coloring her!!  I've done a few of Asela's digital images before but if you missed them or forgot.... all the digis done by Hop Art Designs are benefiting the Operation Write Home organization.  I love that!!!  Cute images AND an opportunity to help out our country's service men and women.  Thank you, Asela for your generosity.

My card begins with Pure Luxury Creme de Menthe card stock (sorry, this color is no longer available) which I layered with some Turquoise Sea.  I added a bit of the paper from the Gina K Patterned Paper, "Pool Side".  I colored my image with Copic markers and cut her out then mounted her with Pop Dots.  I added a few "branch" punches from MS and some pebbles here and there to finish off my card.

If you're looking for cute, fun images to color and create with, please stop by Hambo's Hop Art Designs and help out a great cause!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!! *HUGS*

Hubby Invite....

Happy Saturday!!! I hope you're having the beginnings of a great and/or relaxing weekend!  I sure am!!  NO rushing to do... no kids to run here or there... and ya.. school's out and I'm sooo enjoying NOT waking up super early to run Steven to band practice or coming home late from picking up Emily up from piano lessons.  Ahhhhh it's SUMMER!!!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for the last Gina K Designs release using Theresa Momber's newest set, "Under the Sea".  I thought this was a perfect little card to invite the hubby out on a date and hey... when men see fish or fowl, they pay more attention!!! LOL  My car also uses Tami Mayberry's new set, "Ticket Trio"... I wasn't lying when I said I could use this set on EVERY card I make and this card is no exception!!!

My card base is Pure Luxury Ocean Mist which I used my large Circle Nestabilities to cut the card shape.  I stamped my images on White and colored them with Copic markers.  I sponged a little Memento Sky Blue around the edges.  I used a smaller Circle Nestie to cut out the image before adhering to the base.  I stamped my tickets on Wild Dandelion and added some twine for a bow.

I know this card is sure to get attention from my husband without a doubt!  *wink*

I hope you are having a great weekend and as always... I appreciate your stopping by and allowing me to share my creations with you.  *HUGS*

Wander "Down Under" with La-La Land Crafts!!!

Good day!!  Are you in for a treat today.  Today the La-La Land Crafts Design Team is showcasing the new Aussie stamps!!!  Yep... today I am sharing "Koala Luka" with you!!  Luka is adorable on his own but with this sweet little Koala beside him... how can you miss??  As cute as these awesome Australia stamps are... they will only be available in Australia until July... THEN they will be released to the US at CHA.  :-)

My card today is a stair-step design.  I stamped Luka on some white and then colored him with my Copic markers.  I cut him out before mounting him on the La-La Land Crafts "Stump" stamp. I used the "Max & Whiskers" DP from Basic Grey and applied a  different pattern to each "step" of the card.  My sentiment will also come with the Koala Luka image.  On the 2nd and last step I added some of those awesome new La-La Land Die, "Palm Tree".  LOVE that tree!!!

My parents just went to Australia and it was a lifelong dream of my dad's to go there.  As it turned out, the day BEFORE they left, he closed the sale of his business to my "new boss" and it was the perfect beginning to his retirement!  :-)

The step design card is a favorite of mine to give to kids.  My daughter loves that she can put it on display on one of her shelfs and this cute Luka will be no exception, I'm sure!  You can find instructions to this type of card HERE if you'd like to give it a try.

I hope you are enjoying all the designs from the Design Team.  You can see all of them HERE at the La-La Land Crafts Blog site.

Thanks for stopping by and have a FABULOUS Friday!!!! *HUGS*
