For Jessica

I LOVE this little mouse!!! I had seen him many times before and FINALLY I just couldn't help myself and had to grab "Mice Friends" by Our Craft Lounge for myself! Have you ever made a card and all the time you were making you were thinking of someone? I did when I made this card. I just thought it was so cute and for some reason I kept thinking of Jessica Fick, Designer for Gina K Designs and DT Coordinator (also the coordinator for myself and the other gals on the CSSDT!). She is just amazing with all she does and I had the privilege of meeting her in person last summer. If you've ever talked to Jessica on the phone, you can just see the smile in her voice! So I hope this card reaches her before my blog post.. hee hee. I colored my image with Copic markers and used the Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers folder to emboss my Pure Luxury Base Weight Sweet Corn card stock. I was thrilled to be able to use this bright yellow ribbon I found while at Joanne's one day... kinda reminds me of Jessica's sunny personality. I layered with a simple square and circle Nestabilities. Again.. trying to over come the boredom of just doing the same ole, same ole. Kinda different, dontcha think? The inside is something I had to show you because I used the Solar White Classic Column paper from the Paper Temptress. I LOVE how this adds just a bit more style to the inside of a card. Also... I am amazed at how well you can stamp on it and the columns don't get in the way of the image and break it up. Just like stamping on smooth paper! I colored the little flower in also using my Copics and I admit at first I was reluctant. If you've ever used Copic markers before you know that if you don't use good quality paper, the color can bleed. Well... how about that... NO bleeding!!! You really should try this paper, I know it would look just as nice on a cover of a card as well. I just know in my heart that Jessica smiled when she saw that cute mouse... just like I did all the while I was making it and thinking of her. (I know.... aaaaaak... sooo mushy! Hee Hee) Have a great day and *smile*!!! Signature

A SunFLOWER(s) Day!

I had a great need to do a sunflower card the other day. Not sure why... but I wanted sunflowers and nothing but.. sunflowers. Melanie Muenchinger's newest set, "Pressed Flowers" and her older set, "A Year of Flowers" was perfect in every way for what I wanted. Not only did I use the outlined sunflower from "A Year of Flowers" to make my DP, I used it to line up my sunflower image from the "Pressed Flowers" set as my focal image. I have long loved Melanie's "A Year of Flowers" and when she came out with the "Pressed Flowers" I couldn't get it ordered soon enough! Now you might look at the sunflower and think I simply colored the image in with my Copic markers and did a bit of blending. Well.. that was not the case. I used the solid Sunflower stamp and my Memento Markers to color before applying it to the card stock. I LOVE how this looks and honestly, it is much faster than coloring and blending the colors. Now I DID want to offset my outline of the flower a bit and trust me... I am NOT good at lining things up on purpose without a Stamp-a-ma-jig. But somehow the closer I got to actually stamping... I just couldn't. LOL I am sooooooo much of a "wannabe" perfectionist in my little stamping world!!! I just HAD to grab my Stamp-a-ma-jig and well.. make it fit. LOL So I'm a little weird that way. But I DO expect just a bit of credit because when I stamped the leaves... I did just that... left them a bit out of whack so that you could see the white outline a tad. I don't know.. they just looked better to me than doing the whole flower that way. Ha! I know... strange...I don't get me either! LOL I then wanted to add more to my image but didn't simply want to put ribbon on it. I wanted it more... ohhhh... clean, if you will. So, I added some copper thread that I took and made little knots along the way. Just a bit more dimension than just adding the threading around my image. And.. for added notice ability (is that a word???) of this thread... I wrapped it around my base for my focal image more than once... more than twice.. more than three times. I wanted you to be able to actually see that I had a bit of copper there. When I think of sunflowers, I think of rustic. Every time I've seen one in real life... they somehow seem a bit withered, browned and maybe even old. So I wanted to use the Gina K Pure Luxury Kraft paper under it. Just makes me feel... "homey". I must say.. one thing I REALLY loved about having both flowers sets, especially on a sunflower... all the SEED dots really show up if you use two different ink colors. I grabbed my dark brown Copic and was all ready to dab in some seed dots when I realized... "wow.. I don't have to do that now!" Cool, huh? I hope you have a great weekend and that you see more sunshine than snow (what we are tired of). Suppose to be a heat wave for us... mid 30's I believe so I'm hoping to get even more Spring inspired! Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Chicken Pox???

I don't know why... but when I made this card, it reminded me of someone having chicken pox. LOL Probably all the dotted DP and ribbon I used. Ha My image is from Melanie Muenchinger's, "Square Pegs" and colored it with my Copic markers. When I finished the plate, I used the tip of my blender pen to just touch the image and have it whisk away some of the color leaving just a dot of white. It actually reminded me of my ex-MIL's dishes she has that are red with white hearts around the edges. Cute cute set! My yellow DP is from Nina Brackett's newest Digital Paper Pack, "Swing Into Spring". I added some red dotted ribbon that I found in my stash. I also carried the dots to the inside and used the X's and O's, Hugs and Kisses, again from the Square Pegs set. The red dotted DP came from October Afternoon, "Report Card" pack. I used a large Nestabilitie to cut out a square from it so I could have an area to sign my card. I hope you don't know anyone who has the chicken pox, but... if you need a get well card... I think bright cards are always cheery! Have a great day! *smile* Signature

I Love.... ??

And you thought I was going to say... "you"... didn't you??? *wink* Well... I do!! And I love that you visit my blog. But... I also love chocolate!!! HA Today's card was created for the Blast from the Past Challenge on Stamp TV posted by Selma to do some paper piecing. Well.. that I did!! My stamp set used today was from Melanie Muenchinger's, "Little Tee's". This is a perfect set for showcasing anything you need on the front of those shirts. Wonderful wonderful set! I paper pieced my t-shirt front and colored in the sleeves with my Copic markers. Then... I added that yummy word... CHOCOLATE, to the DP on the shirt. I got my idea for this shirt "sentiment" layout when I did a Valentine's card for my daughter that said.. "Oh how I adore you..." and it was a picture of a woman staring at a heart shaped box of chocolates. Yep... she got it... she said.. "Oh sure mom.. you love ME or those chocolates?" Hee Hee. I love her for being so clever and smart! So... as you can see... the inside was perfectly done as I admitted to loving "you". I don't always post the insides of my cards but thought you needed to know... my heart IS in the right place. *smile* Also... just a little note to my buddy, Lee.... Yep, girlfriend... YOU too, with the pinks and browns! Ha! Thanks to ALL my blog friends who come by and leave their love every time they comment on my cards. I truly appreciate it and LOVE reading them!!! Have a great day! *smile* Signature

The Colors of Easter

Well... I'm at it again!! After creating my first Copic Airbrush card, I knew I'd have to do it more... it's addicting!!! I think using the airbrush system can be easy enough to master to just shade in around a Nestability or the edge of a card, but trying to actually add sunrises and rainbows (in case you didn't know that is what I was trying... hee hee), will definitely be a more difficult task to master. But... I'm always up for a challenge and I don't give up easily. *smile* To begin with I started off stamping the grass from Theresa Momber's new set, "Hang In There". Then, I actually had a photo of a REAL rainbow that the kids and I spotted one day while leaving the grocery store and I had snapped a few pictures of it on my cell phone so I brought it up to see the actual colors that I could. I was surprised at how many I saw in the spectrum!! I began spraying in an arch and let me tell you... it definitely was NOT what I wanted... LOL. Fortunately, I started small on the left and could even it out as I sprayed. From one color to the next I could see the over spray which happened in the picture I was looking at. I think that at some point I could get better at controlling the over spray, but for now, I was fine with how it looked. I then grabbed my B01 marker and began doing a hit-and-miss spray to purposely leave some white to appear as my clouds. I also grabbed a green Copic to fill in a bit at the bottom of the grass. I used Melanie Muenchinger's, "Square Pegs" to create my Easter eggs and mounted them using Pop Ups. Also, Melanie's set, "Just So Hoppy" had the wonderful bunny and basket. Doesn't he look pleased with my rainbow? Hee Hee I am quite pleased with the card and boy, if you're ever in need a BRIGHT card... give me a call. HA HA!! I promise I'll try a more subtle look next time around. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Purple Ducks???

Well why not??!!! If you know me, you know I LOVE my purple! Who says I can't have a purple ducky?! When I grabbed Rupa Shevde's new set, "Oh, Baby!", I KNEW I wasn't about to add to the mass of yellow and wood grained duckies. First, I HAD to use that beautiful new Pure Luxury Heavy Weight Lovely Lavender card stock from Gina K Designs. Oh must I go on??? Those wonderful Pure Luxury Companion Spring buttons... the awesome new Swing Into Spring Digital Paper... and the list just keeps on growing!!! I think this is one of Gina's most awesome releases ever!!! (Oh yeah, doesn't hurt that I am DYING for Spring after all this snow we have had. Hee Hee) Seriously... there are some fabulous items in this release! My image was colored with my Copic markers. The wheels on my ducks were the Raindrop Eyelets. I think this would make a great card for an expectant mother with the yellow and purple... either a boy or girl. Have a great day and come back tomorrow... I have another NEW adventure in Copic Airbrushing that I tackled over the weekend. Fun fun!! *smile* Signature

Jessica's Spring Floral Kit

Cheery, hopeful and soft is what I think of when I first saw Jessica Fick's Spring Floral Cards Kit. The flowers included in the "Spring Florals" set are sooooooo welcoming to me after having yet another day of snow yesterday. Gina K. did a wonderful job with this set and wow, did she ever define what Spring is with the flowers she chose. Jessica's set comes complete with precut card stock and instructions on how to put these wonderful cards together. I couldn't help but add my own "little" twist to them to make the design my own. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on each card and also embossed the "Creme de Menthe" card stock. I changed up the Nestibilities that I used for each image and then... grabbed that wonderful Copic Airbrush System that I am determined to use and get use to. *smile* My flowers were colored with my Copic markers except for the crocus image. Those flowers I used my Kooh-i-noor pencils and OMS with my blender stump to color them in. On the inside, I went simple and clean and stamped each image to match the outside of the card and using the new Vivid ink, "Violet Mist" and my sentiment in black ink. I didn't photograph the envelopes, but I again stamped the matching flower with each card. I used one of Gina's Clear Box's and put all the cards and envelopes inside. I then wrapped a piece of the sheer Vibrant Violet ribbon around the box and used my Bow Easy to add a simple bow. Jessica simply made this set a BEAUTIFUL set to give as a gift at Easter or any time of the year!! You so rock, Jessica. For even more ideas with the Spring Florals stamp set, please check out these links:

Enjoy all the samples tonight! If you haven't purchased this stamp set yet, please take note that the free Card Kit will be included with each purchase until March 18th. At that time, the next card kit stamp set will be released.
Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Pink, Red, Green Hope

Wow! I really had an issue with photographing this pink card today and I'm not sure why. It is very pretty in real life and I love it just the same. *smile* I used Gina K's new, "Hope is Faith" set to stamp the butterfly and sentiment. Remember, every set that sells, Gina is donating $2 to the Red Cross to assist in Haiti. I colored my butterfly with my Copic markers. See the little dots on it's wings??? Those are simply created by holding the tip of the Copic Blender to the paper. I love how it wicks away the color to leave a soft but clear white speck. My DP is from the Lemonade paper pack. I love the colors in this set! My card base was embossed with my Cuttlebug Swirls folder. I created this to play along with the "Color Challenge" over on Stamp TV. We were to use pink, red and green on our card. Very pretty together, I think. That is what I love about the challenges over on Stamp TV. They just keep your mojo going and if you never think of putting colors like this together... after you try it, you may be surprised at how much you like it. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Another General Card for a Gift Pack

I love this image from Asela Hopkins, "Flowers for Daisy". Again... I don't know what took me so long to order this set!! Gina K's new Passion Pink card stock and Theresa's just released "Wings of Hope" digi paper were perfect for the card I had in mind! I will tell you this though... lining up corners is NEVER fun when you (I think anyway) don't exactly cut straight. But, hey I improvised... such a good thing to do when you're frustrated. LOL I colored the flowers with my Copic markers and simply did a quick, layered card. You ever feel you just get TO wrapped up on how to design your card??? I sure do and today I was just thinking... add some layers! I think pearls are always a nice touch and just added a small row at the bottom. Done. Good. Just what I wanted... showcasing just the flowers. Enough said. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Hope is Faith Blog Hop

Feelings of Hope
Gina challenged the CenterStage Spotlight team to make a card with the new Hope is Faith stamp set using the photo above for inspiration. Check out Gina's blog for all the details on this special stamp set.
For my first card, I pretty much stayed with the colors of the photo. I colored my butterfly with my Copic markers and cut it out then mounted just the middle part and folded his wings upward. My DP is from the Sugar Rush pack. My next card I strayed from the orange and focused on the greenery in the picture. My DP is from the Origins paper pack. Again.. I colored with Copic markers. The butterfly was cut out and mounted in the same fashion as my first card. On my last card I again repeated with the orange but wanted to mount my butterfly so that it "appeared" as though he was carrying the heart/hope thru the sky. I loved the cloudy DP I found in the Cosmo Nutmeg pack and couldn't resist having him fly thru the sky. *smile*
Now, stop by these designer's participating in the hop tonight:

Awwwww it's ok...

I LOVE this little pixie from Alicia Krupsky's, "Wishes and Dreams Stamp Set"!! She reminds me a little pixie who is either afraid to try to fly or who fell on her bottom! Hee Hee Today I decided to use her as an inspiration to not give up. She lost her balloon but, she has to believe it will all be ok. *smile* My star shaped balloon is from Melanie Muenchinger's, "Jumping for Joy". My card was done for Gina K's Inspiration Challenge over on Stamp TV to do a card with stars on it. I colored in the stars around my pixie with my Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen and it added just the right amount of shine. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

First Attempt at Copic Airbrushing

Yay me!!! I did it!! It was scary, REAL scary, but I sat down and made myself try my new Copic Airbrush System. I knew what I wanted but not sure it would turn out as planned. Hee Hee Alas... it is pretty much as I expected in my mind. But honestly.... it turned out MUCH better than I thought it would. I used Gina K's StampTV Kit, Organize It, images, "Picture It" to stamp my butterflies. I again used the small flowers as my border along the bottom. I used the Memento London Fog for my ink on the flowers and I think I would have preferred them in black but... it's all a learning process at this point. I really thought the London Fog would show up better. I began by spraying in my grass and then I punched out a large circle using my Nestabilities and sprayed in the sun. A light whisping of blue made up my sky and I intentionally left some areas white to mimic a hint of clouds. My bottom of the sun was a bit harsh so I went back over the grass area long the bottom of the soften it a bit more. I had colored my butterflies quite awhile back and thought they went perfect with the flowers and sunset, soft, card I was attempting here. Thanks for visiting and I'm sure you'll be seeing more of my airbrush experiences along the way. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

A New Kitchen!!!

I FINALLY got around to using Melanie Muenchinger's new "Pop Up Oven" pattern and boy was I in for a shock! LOL First... I had my idea all laid out and wanted to make a replica of the inside of my ex-mother-in-law's kitchen that she just had redone. She is soooooooo excited about it and I wanted to send her a "congrats" card. Well, let me just say this... I spent about THREE hours on this one card!!!! LOL Not because it is so difficult, but, because I started with an A2 size card. Originally, I wanted to use Nina Brackett's, "Lovely Shelf" above the stove. Well once I got the idea I started cutting and coloring "things" to put on that shelf and ya know what??? It didn't fit!!! LOL So... off to do a 5" X 5" card! THEN... after ALL that... I decided against the shelf! HA HA Go figure. I began my card with the outside. I used Asela Hopkins, "The Journey" set for the door AND the Adirondack chair! Her house is grey with the red door and she has this BRIGHT SHINY Adirondack chair on the front stoop. I know you can't see it well here, but I used my Sakura Gel pen on the chair and it's totally shiny!! I also made a bit of a "boo boo". When I stamped the wording, "sit awhile".. I pushed down to hard and caught the edge of the rubber. Well now... I decided if Theresa can do it... so can I! LOL I covered it up by adding my penned border around the words!! Wah Lah! *smile* On the inside, I knew what the flooring was (wood) and the walls (white)... but instead of just using plain white, I found some yummy paper that was white with a shimmery white flower so I used that in place of just a plain wall. My floor was so easy since Gina K offered up some cool wood grain digital paper for us all on her FREEBIES page on StampTV! Yay!! I did use Nina's sunflowers in the vase from her "Lovely Shelf" set to sit on the counter. Also, I used Theresa Momber's, "Timeless Treasures" to make my clock. I simply stamped and colored the pocket watch in that set and cut it out without the chain. The rug was stamped using ladybugs from "A Year of Flowers".. another of Melanie's fabulous sets. I simply added small cuts to the end to make it appear as the threads hanging. She actually has a rug like this that she had a lady paint for her. Kind of a canvas rug with some type of acrylic paint on it but wow.. is it ever cool. She had black granite put on the counters and I used a small piece of black Laser Lustre from the Paper Temptress. I hope she likes the card... when I showed my son, he in-turn, showed it to his dad and he was shocked at how much it looked like Grandma's kitchen! LOL Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! *smile* Signature

My Prayer is For You...

One of the many things I have benefited from being a member of Stamp TV and being a "Ginaholic" (Gina K Designs stamper) *smile*; is all the friends I've made along the way. And in finding those friends, I have become connected to them in ways I never thought possible. We share in our thoughts, we share in our triumphs and we share in our pains. I pray for these friends and they pray for me. I do not like it when my memory slips and I miss a prayer I wanted to be sure and send up. So... I created my Prayer List. Gina's wonderful Stamp TV Kit, Organize It, has so many ways to assist anyone in getting those things done you have scheduled for yourself on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. I used a small 3.5" X 5" notebook and applied Theresa Momber's newest digital paper, "Wings of Hope" as my base, applied with the wonderful Scor-Tape. I stamped my "Prayer List" using Gina's set and added some wonderful Vibrant Violet Sheer ribbon. On the inside I again used Theresa's paper and chose Gina's sentiment from the "Hope is Faith" stamp set to benefit the American Red Cross in their efforts to assist Haiti. I love this sentiment and I think it will show up on so many projects in days to come. To my Stamp TV and Gina K friends... I promise to keep you in my prayers better than I did in the past. *smile* Have a great day!!! Signature

Hope Is...

My card today is special for two reasons. First... it is one of the new stamp sets which was released Thursday night at Gina K's Release Party, called "Hope Is Faith". Secondly... Gina created this stamp to benefit Haiti. For every set sold, $2.00 will be donated to the Red Cross to assist in their efforts to help Haiti. Way to go Gina K!!!! My layout for this card was based on a sketch Lee Murphy created for the Release Party and I was honored she asked me to make a sample to be shown along with her card. I stamped my butterfly and colored it in with my Copic markers. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder "Leafy Branch" and instead of layering it to the Nestabilitie Circle, I cut the branch and leaves out and mounted those. I then applied my butterfly to the branch. I placed three Rain Drop Eyelets in the upper right hand corner, following the sketch. My DP is from the Sugar Rush paper pack. I hope you allow yourself to purchase this wonderful, "Hope is Faith" set and help the American Red Cross care for and assist Haiti. Have a great day! *smile* Signature

Cute as a Pixie

These adorable little pixie gals were Alicia Krupsky's newest stamp set, "Wishes and Dreams Stamp Set". Aren't they as cute as can be??? I love them!! The three cards are all part of a set designed by Jessica Fick which, for a limited time, was FREE when you purchased Alicia's set!! I pretty much followed Jessica's directions for each card but I did a bit different embossing and Nestabilities. I used my Copics to color in the images and on the stars and "wand" I used my Sakura glitter and gel pens to make them a bit more dimensional and shiny. You really can't beat getting all the card stock precut along with the stamps. Such a bargain!! These would be just wonderful in a cute box of cards to gift to a friend or maybe a teen as "note cards"?? My eight year old sure loved them. I think they would be great to give as a gift for someone to assemble their own set as well. Gina K has several Card Kits that you can choose from... stop over and take a look. Jessica has done a wonderful job in designing them all!! Have a great day and give someone a Card Kit... you never know who you might inspire. *smile* Signature

Kitty Luv

Today I wanted to share a card with you that is one of my favorites using Theresa Momber's set, "Purrr-fectly Delightful". Theresa showed this on her blog, but I never put it on mine and it is the one I liked the most so I wanted to add it to my blog history. I stamped the kitty in the tea cup three times and cut out just the head. (Sounds sick, huh? LOL) I then used my Copic markers to color them in making them look like three different kitties. I mounted them on a piece of Gina K's Pure Luxury Layering Weight Ivory which I ran thru my Cuttlebug using the Herringbone embossing folder. My sentiment was stamped on my Nestabilities, Fancy Tags. I frayed the ends of my ribbon because it reminded me of what cats would do if they were given a piece to play with. *smile* Thanks for checking out my blog today... have a great one! Signature

CLEAN Love...

When you think of stamping and creating cards, don't you think of cleaning house too??? No??? Ok... well how about cleaning products??? Not that either?? Well, I did!! At least for today I did..., hee hee. Over on Stamp TV Selma asked us to use BLEACH on our cards for her Blast from the Past challenge. So, I did!!! This technique is very easy and quite fun. Check out the Videos tab on Stamp TV to see Gina's step by step tutorial on how this is done. I will tell you this... I tried stamping on one of newest papers, "Passionate Pink" and it wouldn't change at all. Can you imagine putting bleach on paper and nothing happens???? Wow... that is some HIGHLY pigmented paper!!! *smile* For my card I used some of Gina's other new colors, Wine with Everything, Pretty in Pink and Cranberry Tart. I stamped Melanie Muenchinger's frame from "Hip to be Square" and cut the papers to fit inside. I also used Melanie's solid heart from her "Square Pegs" set. My middle heart was from Tami Mayberry's "Happy Hearts". All of my ribbon was from Gina's Gold Line and Romance collections. LOVE these ribbons!!! Have a great day and next time you're ready to stamp.... think cleaning! *smile* Signature

Simply... a Daisy!

I have been wanting this simple daisy stamp for such a long time but... something always kept me from ordering it. Not sure why because I LOVED it!! I think it must have been the excitement of new stamps and I just couldn't resist ordering them first. This stamp is from Asela Hopkins set, "Flowers for Daisy" available at Gina K Designs. I saw a card made with it the other day... yet again... and I just stopped what I was doing and ordered it! Enough, already, huh??? I stamped my image and did some shading on it and then realized I was going to cut it out so... I just cut around the shading to see how I liked it. Not bad... but not sure I'd do it again this way. My base card is from Gina K's Pure Luxury Card Stock Heavy Weight, "Innocent Pink". I added a layer of the Paper Temptress', White Pearl Linen and used my Cuttlebug to emboss the Swiss Dots on it. This paper does such a nice job of just adding a touch of shimmer to a card and I really like the light linen emboss of it. My ribbon is from Gina's newest ribbon assortment, "Romance". So many nice colors to choose from in that batch... perfect for Valentine's Day!!! (Which is only a few days away... don't forget!) Have a great day and if you need to... hurry out and get that Valentine's gift! *smile* Signature
